OMG - that movie cracked me up (well, parts of it...). Kathy full-frontal getting into the hot tub, plus Jack Nicholson realizing he didn't have to sit down on the toilet anymore to pee?

My list:
- a documentary about Mexican union reps who were beaten and set on fire by angry anti-union workers (yes, they showed it - stupid PBS)
- the animal rescue show on Animal Planet where they show injured critters, and sometimes have to put them to sleep
- the bloodspray fountain effects in Kill Bill 1 & 2 - ick

and on the lighter side:

- Jessica Trampson "These Boots..." video - who washes the General Lee with her boobs?
- Elvira without her makeup & super-duper support bra = buzzkill
- The View
- "One Night in Paris" - we thought it would be funny to show at a party, but it killed it

- Wars images, terrorist attacks images, Al Qaeda people menacing directly my Country.

-Reality shows.

-Just the other day, Jessica Simpson trashing These Boots Were Made For Walking. Willie Nelson should have been protected from getting invoved in that mess.

-Tom Cruise recently.

Just some.

I can relate, Brian. My father died when I was six. Going to his funeral at that age was terrible.

Then on a lighter note:

The show Growing Up Gotti. Words cannot express how much I detest those little creeps.

Seeing a spider the size of a dinner plate when I was in Brazil.

Au contraire, that was something entirely worth seeing!!!

On the other hand, I did NOT need to see this woman in the record store yesterday with one of the worst displays of camel toe I've ever had to witness. I'm talkin' full view people...I'm still shuddering.

(Nor were my 2 older brothers) able to attend my father's funeral (When I was 7 years old, Back in the gawd-awful year of 1977...2005 ranks even with 1977 in my books as years I will never forget.) since his injuries received in the car wreck were reported (According to 2 of my Uncles who were Dad's younger brothers) to be rather morbid/gruesome to say the least.

I'm not in the greatest of moods today, The asscork doctor who operated on my Mother called my sister Lesa twice yesterday to ask if he could fax her the autopsy results and go over 'em with her. All the time he was stuttering/mammering his words (He should be nervous, VERY nervous!!!)...Only problem is that Lesa never signed for the autopsy results, So if he does indeed fax 'em to her he will be digging himself into a even larger hole.

The asscork MD (Murdering Dumbf**k) at first seemed to not willing to share the results with us, Kinda funny now that we went over his head to track 'em down he is wanting to share the findings...Well he can share 'em with our attorney now.

Not sure if this is the best thread to share this anecdote or not, but I was standing outside of work yesterday, talking to my boss, when a massive pickup truck drove by. On the back windshield, was the phrase, "GET-R-DID."

Not "Get-R-Done," mind you... but "GET-R-DID."

I felt dumber for having read it.

Oh. I moved from NYC back to Alabama by choice. I am a doctor and my hubby is a lawyer, so we are not exactly stupid. My move was actually prompted by my hubby and I getting partnership offers; we decided that if we did that we could never return to the south, so we decided to move back!

Sure, I can joke about some things just like everyone else, but I just wanted to say that living in the south does not mean you are stupid and/or married to your cousin.

Maybe it should be things I would rather have not seen.....
Like:

The World Trade Center falling, falling, falling down- and what significance that held ....
Holding my 70 pound dog, while the Vet administered the shot, to put him to sleep......
Watching my Father's ashes go out with the tide on the ocean at our beach cottage house. ...
Watching my Mother let my Father go.....

But, I HAD to be at/ see all of those things because I was meant to.
Maybe I am being a little too heavy, but I think in the end....
You are made up of all the experiences that you encounter during your lifetime. Friends, Loves, Loss, Mistakes, Regrets, Decisions, Families, paths taken, paths not taken, all add up to who you ARE. All those experiences develop you and strenghten you and just make you, YOU
No one else in the world has seen what you have seen/been where you have been and felt what you have felt- No One!
It is what makes us all. Life is what makes us all....
Yes, for once, IT IS ALL ABOUT YOU!

I wouldn't stop watching TV for days....
I couldn't let my dog go by himself into that room...
As sad as I was that my Dad had died, he wanted to be let go, in the place that he loved the most...
As heartbreaking as it was to feel my Mother's pain-she needed me there....

Destiny or Fate or just living day to day, I have seen many things so far, and I plan to see a lot more
The ever philosophical,

BTW - we used to have an apartment in the French Quater in New Orleans in a building called The Pontalba, which are like the oldest apts in the US and they are right next to St. Phillip's Cathedral in Jackson Square. The Angelus for the morning, noon, and evening Angelus was AWE INSPIRING - I can hear it to this day.

Then, I was in Venice almost a year ago to this day and my friend and I got up early and were walking in some out of the way neighborhood when all of the bells of the churches of Venice started ringing (probably for the Angelus) and we captured it on video, which I use as my alarm clock buzzer ever since.

Finally, if you climb one of the towers of Notre Dame, you can go into a belfry and the ring the 30 foot bell for a deafening sound

Needless to say I LOVE Church Bells.
