View Full Version : OK, who's depressed about missing Vegas?

Sorry to be a whiner, but I'm sooo depressed about not going. I keep looking at the clock and thinking, "She should be going on in an hour, half hour, etc." Tonight while driving, I had to tune into the classical music radio station because the only CDs in my car are Stevie, FM, and Vanessa Carlton, and it's too painful to listen!

I'm so sad because I was late in becoming a Chiffonhead and now this was probably the last time ever to see her performing solo live since she doesn't seem to have plans for doing another record. FM concerts are nice, but I really wanted to see her solo one more time before she hangs up her hat.

Anyone else feel this way? I shouldn't be so greedy because at least I got to see her a few times this summer, but I'm still feeling blue... :(

Yeah, a little bit. I was lucky to be able to make two of the Vegas shows in May, plus the Two Voices Show in Pittsburgh. But I still feel kind of sad. I had such a great time & met so many cool fans at those shows, not to mention that Stevie was awesome. I'll live, but I will wallow in self pity for a day or two first.

Yeah, I definitely am! I've been looking at the clock saying "she's probably @ stand back...". I have no excuse, I've already seen her 5 times this year...but it doesn't matter. If ya love her, ya love her...all the time...and you just wanna be there. Maybe she'll go back to Vegas later this year (with more notice than we got this time). :distress:

I didn't really want to go see her with Don earlier, but I wish I had. Not that I don't like him, I really do! And when they were both in Phoenix night before last...well, I got depressed then, too.

Yeah, I'm pretty bummed about it, too. I would have been there, but I'm leaving for California tomorrow. :(

Has anyone else noticed that the Ledge seems pretty dead with all these Ledgies gone?

The fact that her saw her twice in Vegas this May seems to be of little consolation.

That's how I feel too. I'm kinda bummed now just cause it was a lot of fun in Vegas, especially when everyone was hanging out together. Also this is the last show for the year so that makes me sad too. But I didn't even expect her to tour this year so I feel lucky to have seen her a bunch of times. And if she plans to do a few shows in Vegas every year, maybe we have something to look forward to next year.

I'm joining the pity party, I've been depressed about it all day. I know I've been lucky that I got to see her at 3 shows, but this is the last show of what just may be her last solo tour   Oh god I'm depressing myself again, although a friend who's there did call me during Landslide, so at least I've got that.

Don't worry. You didn't miss much. I like Don but I could have done without him on Stevie's songs and that's all we got from him. If he hadn't been at AHI maybe we would have gotten something besides a cut down Gold Dust tour set? We thought she was doing some of the Vegas set. She didn't. Don didn't do anything besides sing with her on SDMHA (I wish she had dropped it) GDW (I'd rather it had been just Stevie) L&L (same old), Circle Dance (I wish had just been Stevie) and SYWTBARRS, which I could have done without altogether. She dropped Sorcerer and brought back Landslide. Not my kind of a trade off. :sorry:

I noticed it's kind of slow in here too. All the Ledgies are in Vegas!

Do you all really think this is the grand finale forever? I can't believe she wouldn't try to do some Vegas gig like Celine Dion does or at least release some sort of album. I know there might be something with FM, but I need some solo Stevie too.

Oh well, I think I need to just get over it. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a180/guy_smiley705/Favorites/Faves2/indifferent.gif

because I feel after Stevie has a much deserved break from touring she'll get the itch and "get some ribbons and some bows and get back out on the road again"...Until then guess we'll get to enjoy the 2005 tour bootlegs.

Living in phoenix is wonderful but can be frustrating, Every time I have been to see her in concert its a Arizona heart bennifit. (I know, its a good cause, but hear me out) My STEVIE NICKS concert experience seems to be almost "interupted" by all the damn guests! Weather or not you like sheryil crow, cris isack, ect. is beside the point. I just wanna hear Stevie. My friend that I went to the concert with was all excited about don. don this, don that, then when he did none of his songs my friend left dissappointed. And also, so did I (yes, Leather and lace still gets me choked up, but after hearing it at every single bennefit I was ready for something different) as far as "so ya wanna be a rock and roll star"PHULEEEEZZE! I would trade that for "if Anyone falls" any day  I like this pitty party, I feel better already!

You're not the only one. Phoenix fans often feel cheated by the benefit. Normally I only feel cheated about not getting near the stage, but not about the guests. If guests provide variety I like it. I like a special show not just a cut down version of a tour show with a guest singing along on Stevie's songs. That blows. As I predicted in another thread about the benefit, we got the worst of all worlds. No songs from Don's set. Nothing special from Stevie. The set list was cut down from other Gold Dust Tour shows. To top it off we got Don screwing up Stevie's songs and we got the same stale L&L and SDMHA. There are a lot of other things I'd like to say about the benefit but I won't. After hearing about tonight's set, I do wish I had gone to Vegas for the closer. Oh well.

Yeah, I'm sad I missed it. I chatted with Ken on MSN the night before he left for Vegas and he was really excited. That made me want to go. And then watching the karaoke stuff really made me wish I was there. And the video clips from the show made me have a heart attack! WHE WAS ON FIRE!!! But I'm happy for everyone that went. Wish I coulda been in on that action though!

Works for me! I'm very happy that everyone had a good time in Vegas last night...and the clips were great...but that doesn't keep my selfish human nature from rearing it's ugly head by wanting to be there myself. Thank God I can stop watching the clock now....it's officially over (for now). Time to save up for this Australia gig next year....I wonder if they'll let me get into my 401K???? Bring on the wine!

Joining the pity party:

I got to see her twice this tour and I found myself doing the same exact thing. If she never does a solo tour again the world is going to be missing out on something great. I do know and I can hold dear in my heart that the very last place I (may have) enjoyed her beauty on stage was in the best place...Rod Rocks Colorado.

It is a very sad day! :distress: :(

Yep... today I was driving down the road and thinking "it's over" and we don't know for sure what will be next or how long. :( I went to Vegas in May.. it just seems like so very long ago. I have greatly appreciated being here on The Ledge and getting to enjoy everyone's posts, pictures, clips, MP3s and reviews. (and wondering if the board will slow to a crawl without the tour going on.) It's been great fun!! :woohoo: :blob1: :]

Thanks everyone who went and posted stuff!

I shead a few tears telling everyone bye. I had such a blast! I laughed my ass off, won $61 :blob2: ,watched the most fabulous show of the tour, hung out for three days with the most awesome people I could ever meet....and we got along! Not one fight. :xoxo: I love them all and can't wait for them to return home so we can chat again.

Sigh... you're not helping! I SO wanted to be there! The best show of the tour? Really? Who am I kidding. Of course it was. I saw the clips and had a stroke! All those high kicks, tit jiggles, tambourine tosses. God almighty! How did you hold it together at all during that show! I'd have been a total mess!

You're such a sweetie. It does stink that we can't stretch the timeline of these experiences because they are so precious! Again, wish I could have been there. I'm hoping now for Stevie to do a few end of the year shows at the House Of Blues in LA, like she did in '99!! They could get rid of all the extra merchandise that way, right?

I know - our group was GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fondest memories are many:

1. The initial hugs at the airport

2. Margs. at Slice waiting for the others to arrive

3. Having some of the band exit the theatre while we were sitting there.

4. Spago and me not realizing the water was already served in a cocktail glass

5. Kareoke - LORD CHILD

6. The concert!

7. All of us on the bed afterward in my room watching the clips and writing the review :distress: :distress:

What a great time!

I didn't even go and I feel your pain! At least you have a wonderful memory to look back on and you got to meet some cool people from this board!

I can't bring myself to believe this was *the end* forever, or at least for a very long time. She's got to do something, I would think. She loves her fans, her music - it seems like she'd get bored retiring at this age. OK, maybe not, but one can hope, right??

She'll do something - you watch. She'll take off these next couple months, then in like Nov. or Dec. she'll do a couple dates somewhere - hopefully more smaller intimate venues. This will probably happen especially on the west coast. I thought FM was done at one point in '04, then they went and showed up in BAKERSFIELD of all places!

I'm still not over missing the last 2 weekends of the tour. I went to Vegas in May and San Diego and LA and then wanted to go to Concord and Vegas but missed both because I was in Mexico. I thought by the time I got back I'd be over it since the shows were over but I'm not! We are soooo spoiled.

The other thing I'm worried about is that the next time she tours it may be with FM and I don't want that. After seeing her solo for the first time those Mac shows don't compete. It's all about Stevie for me and I could honestly care less about seeing LB perform. I really hope she does some more Vegas dates solo because if she does I'm so there. I wish I could have met everyone in Vegas. Sounds like a blast. Oh well hopefully next time.

I don't think she'll be doing any more shows this year, unless it's a benefit or something. JMO.

I think after the holidays she'll get the itch to record & she might start working on a solo album. UNLESS Mac comes calling - then I'm sure she'll go & record and/or tour with them & put any solo stuff on the backburner.

For now, I plan to reorganize my bootlegs & get back into trading, keep my eyes & ears open for any info on reissues/remasters (Mirage, TITN, BD & WH pleasepleaseplease!) and patiently wait for LB to get his ass in gear & giove us a solo album & tour.
