I was told by the company doctor about 3 weeks ago that I have tennis elbow from constant computer work. I have to wear a brace for my elbow during the day, and one on my wrist at night when I sleep. Now, she has me in physical therapy 2 times a week. Today was day 2, and it hurts more now then it did before I started. And, boy, does it hurt like hell. Anyone else ever have this? How long did it last and what did you do to make it go away???

No Pain No Gain - hang in there with your Physical Thereapy. I completely understand your situation. I have carpal tunnel in both my wrists/forearms. I have to wear my braces every night for 3 weeks once it flares up again. Time is the only thing that helps me, I get it about 3x a year, and no kidding TODAY they are killing me! I woke up like someone had taken a baseball bat to my arms. I have to work my Chocolate Business (http://www.mdchoco.com) this afternoon, and the machine weighs 80 lbs empty. I definately will have to have help getting it onto the table.

Another thing that helps me along is Icy Hot Rub, and warm compresses.

DO NOT under any circumstance do warm compress, get out of the shower, or use a heating pad then apply the Icy Hot - You will scream bloody murder as the heat opens your pores allowing the medication to enter WAY INTO your body and it will feel like you are ON FIRE from the inside out.....Yeah - Experience with that on my ankles.

OUCH!

So, WAIT an hour or so after your compresses/shower/heating pad to apply. Off I go to get some.

Hoping you feel beter sweet girl,

The icy hot experience sounds like it sucked pretty bad! I'm pretty serious about the physical therapy. I understand it's going to hurt before it helps! My mom had surgery on her's too, and that's what I want to avoid. I drive a stick, and it's in my right elbow. I'll be trapped in the house for quite a while if I had surgery!

P.S. Cool chocolate business!

Sorry you're in pain. I used to get Tennis Wrist when I played. I would have to lay off the game to make it stop, plus I adjusted my weight room regimen to strengthen the muscles that are involved.

BTW, you're in great company. When Katharine Hepburn filmed Pat & Mike she had tennis elbow but kept having to hit shot after shot as she cried. When the cameras were off she couldn't even hold her coffee cup.
