View Full Version : Favorite Stevie Hair Style

RockALittle250

My favorite Stevie hair style is when she wears it wavy. An example of this is on the front and back cover lyrics booklet in the TISL album. She looks awesome when she has her hair wavy like that. That is a really popular hair style among young women right now, but Stevie proves to be beautiful wearing any hair style at any age. I personally think she should wear it wavy more often. What is your favorite Stevie hair style and from what album or time period?

It was the perfect hairstyle for her Empress of the Pagoda stage. I took some pictures at the Irvine Meadows concert & that hair just looks so good on her.

I like her 70's FM/Rumours era hair. I'm a sucker for 70's culture though :p I also really like her hair in the Stand Back video where she has it really curly, but her bangs are pulled back in a clip. I think she's super hot with her hair like that.

I'm with you on that.. The Dance for latest hairstyle... Was the first night when it was kind of messy with bangs.. I like it when it doesn't look so "done up"... Just let it hang there and do what it wants..

That's the one I always refer to as the "I just bought my first curling iron" hairdo.

My favorite Stevie hair is Mirage/Bella Donna era - and then RAL era - the ICW and TTM (when she's in red) videos, especially.

Stevie has always had beautiful hair, no matter what era. Well... I'm not overly fond of the time when her hair looked so dried out and fried... was that RAL/Tango/BTM? I know it was really popular back when to have unhealthy looking hair, so maybe she was following a bit of a trend. I can't pick one favorite era, so I'll just say 1974-1984, then 1991-present... that should be everything but the fried out era.

Anyway - my favorite Stevie hair - I dig the TISL hair as well as The Dance hair

08-02-2005, 11:05 AM
Well, I basically love almost all of her hairstyles ON HER, she is so classically and feature wise beautiful, that, to me, they all look good on her. My fav would be Tusk, dark in the back, pale around her face, and lots of permie waves/curls, also love the "Seven Wonders" hair, and "If Anyone Falls" hair, as someone also pointed out, very cool! I love the "Street Angel" outtake photos hair (NOT the SA tour braided crimped hair, that is my least fav)...I know she has a lot of "helpers" with wigs/extensions/etc. but I love that...hair is like makeup, it is an accessory, and if you can help it look fabulous, why not?

Blessings, everyone!~Barbara

I think her hair has just been (backstage when she disappeared) brushed toward her face in that video, and it is kind of "a mess" but it is way cool, and that whole segment is one of my favs of all time, just so WITCHY! Yeah, I dig the witchy stuff...

Stevie has always had beautiful hair, no matter what era. No, she has not. On the 1989 Mirror tour, Stevie's hair looked like a Disneyland for the insect world.

By the final months of the 1990 Mask tour, it looked like a conflated Disneyworld & Epcot Center for small rodents.

The hairstyle in the Gypsy video, long curly and free flowing, blowing in the wind for me. But I also like TISL and Dance hair also.

I decided to grow my hair long because of the Gypsy video. I have long naturally curly strawberry blond hair. How corny is that?
But my hair is too thick and it grows too fast for a short style.

I don't believe Stevie ever had a short style. Can you imagine if she did?
It would have to be a damn good style to move away from the long flowing hair we have all come to love. I don't think the twirls would ever be the same.
Her long hair I think adds that special element to her twirls. Plus the fact that when she really rocks out, it gets messed up but still somehow looks great.

Can anyone see Stevie in a shorter style like a Pat Benatar style? I don't but that is just me. I think so much of Stevie's persona is tied to her long flowing hair.

Dance/TISL era are my favorites. I also love the BellaDonna/Mirage era. I must say I really do NOT like the crimped look and the short short bangs during part of the Enchanted tour.

Oh, she looks gorgeous with loose flowing waves too. I nearly passed out when she came out for Hotel California in Philly with flowing waves...but...alas...she straightened it for her own set. WTF? Sad.

I like the Street Angel B&W promo pics with the dark dress. Really loose curls and kinda a fountain of curls on top of her head. Generally I prefer her hair wavy or curly but I'd like to see her wearing more pony tails (like the Mirage video during the Chain) or pinning it back sometimes.

Catinthedark, I am sporting a Stevie-like shag right now - though I'm a brunette. I modified my regular layered cut early in the summer. Now I see in the fall fashion mags (Sept. issues of Vogue and Lucky), many women are sporting this same 'do - long, layered, naturally wavy, with bangs. You could wear your hair that way now!

Now this one would be my favorte- Lush, sexy, mysterious, impish, just great hair!

Hard to make it look like this everyday-I would imagine :o

what do you think?

(Just between us, I had to get my hair cut and change my make-up colors because people kept thinking I was Stevie..Such a hassle when going out for dinner--always being asked for autographs-- or going to another artists' concert, well you know-- just a hassle. So I have toned it down and now I can walk around in relative obscurity)

I love that hair. I have tried to do that to my hair several times...and failed miserably everytime!!

The cover of SYW is some nice hair. I like Stevie's hair curly, just not in that pic that was posted.

Voila. Beautiful.

I've always wished I had grown up in the 70s.... Love this look.
I was a young teenager in the 70's and I did have that hair. If I can find a picture I'll post it. I love her hair there. Stevie is so pretty that she can pretty well wear her hair any style.

That is SO true. Perfect skin, beautiful eyes, beautiful mouth and smile. Would take some pretty BAD hair to make her look bad!

And I'm SO jealous you had that hair in the 70s!!!

Tusk era, the hair, the clothes. Im a sucker for TUSK!But a lot of people think of the Tusk era as just that one hair-in-bun Sara look from the St. Louis video, when the era was really so much more than that, lookswise. In fact, the hair didn't even stay in a bun for Sara for anything like the whole tour.

Very sexy and very Bridget Bardot.

Really...anything from, like, '76-'83...shag, in desperate need of conditioner, great color. I am not a big fan of her hair now. It's too long, too straight and too blonde...but, you know, it's Stevie, so she can't actually go wrong.

I like most of her Tusk hair styles....except that awful Sarra bun! That may be my least favorite Stevie hair.

but for a favorite the pink dress portion of the everyday video

One of my favorites is also Stevie in the pink dress portion of the Everyday Music Video! Does anyone have still photos of her in the Everyday Music Video?
