that sucks. why should i (we) pay $100 more for actually buying a ticket when we could instead of waiting around.
anyone think of a way to get the $$$ back?

i just emailed john kinney, it went something like:
why is the $160 ticket i bought yesterday now $79? was this ticketmaster's idea, or did it come from stevie's "people"? either way, it's incredibly unfair. i am still very excited about seeing stevie in vegas again, though i wish i had an extra $80 to spend while i am there.
we'll see if we hear back? not that there is any way we'll get a refund or anything, i just kind of want to know why.

Boy that sucks. I learned my lesson last year about tickets from TM when they first go onsale or buying from a broker. It seems like good or even great seats are always thrown back in the pool in the days or hours before a show.
I doubt John Kinney has any idea why ticket prices were lowered. Stevie probably has no clue either for that matter. I think the promotor or perhaps even the venue in this case, controls that. Low sales must be the reason. I haven't checked the meeting up thread but I doubt as many hardcore fans are travelling to Vegas this time around as did in May. If there was two shows, I might go but I am not flying out there for only the one gig. Plus I have seen the show twice already. If sales are low, I wonder if that means Stevie won't be asked to return to Vegas for a semi continual residency type run? The October thing is off according the the box office at Caesars. :> (
Stevie was pushing and hyping the Vegas show pretty strongly in that recent interview as if she was aware that ticket slows were a bit slow.
Anyhoo, I hope you guys get some answers about the ticket prices. It is completely and totally unfair in my opinion

i'm going because i really liked vegas and am looking at this as if it were a vacation punctuated by a stevie concert. and brian convinced me: "it's the last show, who knows when she'll be out again. come onnnnnnnn..."
i can see her doing vegas once a year over a few nights, just like in may. that would be much more successful IMO than randomly popping up for a night. like you said, you'd go if it was more than just one show. i think that sentiment is shared by a lot of people. i hope they get the point.

Actually if I did not have a couple of rugrats to take care of, I would have gone for the one show and did the AHI as well. However, I would much rather her play three or four shows there so I could justify the flight, hotel etc a bit more to the husband and make it a little mini vacation as well. I completely agree about them getting the message. I hope they hear us and play week long stints there if they decide to go back.
Have fun with Brian! (oh and Curtis, Jason, etc) Give us a full report with lots of itty bitty details that no one cares about but us. Hopefully HSML will be as drop dead stunning as it was in May.

Well, it seems like this show...the last show of the tour...isn't selling well. I really can't see her doing shows in Vegas here and there if she can't pack the house.

But the thing w/ Vegas - a lot of people going next weekend probably have NO idea Stevie is playing - and won't, until they get into town and see the marquee out front, or billboards on the way from the airport, or whatever. It will sell out, or darn close to it. :p

I'm not going to this show because it is Vegas. I'm going because it's her last show of the tour. Like Bri and xxxmx said, who knows if/when she will tour solo again in the US. It seems to me her heart is heading back to FM, and this might be the last time in a long time we will hear her solo work on stage.

ITA, it will be the very casual fans who fill the seats  At least I'm hoping that's the case, because I'd love for Vegas to become a yearly thing, and I don't see it happening without great sales.

for the Rolling Stones Jan 2003 OKC show, Tickets that were $150 ended up going for $50 (I know, I bought one that way) due to slow/non-existant ticket sales.
I have a feeling the show is not selling as well as what Stevie's people had hoped.

i was in touch with john kinney and he said that he knew nothing about it, he'd been told they were near to selling the place out, and that maybe they were obstructed view. i repied 'no, at least on that last part.' i was like, at one point there were seventh row seats available. at least he replied. quickly. thanks, john. :wavey:
and of course i want a refund. not our fault that we paid full price the day before they started an unannounced promotion.

I saw nothing that obstructed anyones view, so they couldn't use that as an excuse. I think the reduced price is BS.
