I agree now - but when I first saw it on this old monitor, I thought he was thrusting his first in the air and had a pencil in it. It is easier to see on my monitor when I went to the site Ken (THANK YOU KEN) linked.

BTW isn't it funny how there is no rectangular box under the back of his jacket in this pic

Remember when he called that reporter a "major asshole" when he didn't think his microphone was on? I expect nothing less from that piece of **** and am so overjoyed that he did this. The floodgates of bad press will now open. :D

Maybe someone said something negative about his lying cheerleader Judy Miller and it pushed him over the edge.

The reason she's staying put is because she is the source. I hope she has a miserable time in jail, that lying piece of garbage.

Don't even get me started on Frank Rich, either. What an odious windbag. The day I feel sorry for Judith Miller is the day winged monkeys fly out of me arse and carry me to Oz.

Yea - it was pretty much crap. I mean the law has been for a long time that a reporter has no right to a confidential source when it impedes a criminal matter. I get all the arguments against that, but as a lawyer, I can tell you it is hard enough to put criminals away without that BS and it is BS because though the reporter may actually have some altuistic intent, they are mostly making a name for themselves to broaden the appeal of their by line. how's that for cynical

Here's Scotty's response today:

Q Scott, last night on the Tonight Show, Jay Leno, who apparently is subbing for Johnnie, displayed a video of the President at the Capitol yesterday. In that video, the President walking away from the press lifts his hand and raises a finger. Mr. Leno interpreted it as, shall we say, a finger of hostility. Each of our fingers has a special purpose and meaning in life. (Laughter.) Can you tell us what finger it was he held up?

MR. McCLELLAN: Ken, I'm not even going to dignify that with much of a response. But if someone is misportraying something, that's unfortunate.

Q Well, it was not a finger of hostility?

MR. McCLELLAN: Ken, I was there with him, and I'm just not going to -- I'm not going to dignify that with a response. I mean, I haven't seen the video that you're talking about, but I know the way the President acts. And if someone is misportraying it, that's unfortunate.

He's doing a thumbs up, actually. If you watch the video, you can see how his hand moves, creating the thumbs up motion.

Also, if he were flipping them off, you would see the bent (or folded over) pointer with the thumb on the side. If you look at the picture, it's obviously his fist running perpendicular to the floor and his thumb is up.

I hate Dubya, but he's not flipping anyone off.

The clincher is that whatever the appendage sticking up is, running on the right side of it is the line of the arm leading into an index finger curled in the fist postion. So, unless Dubya has some weird birth defects where he's got a middle finger where his thumb should be, I doubt he's flipping them off.

Even if it is, I want his ass to get raked over the coals for flipping a turkey, anyway.
He's not going to be raked. He called Adam Clymer an asshole over the public address system at a campaign rally and no one gave a **** about that. The ignorant inbred Jed dumbasses who worship Dubya would applaud him if he flipped off Congress.

Main Entry: op·pos·able
Pronunciation: &-'pO-z&-b&l
Function: adjective
1 : capable of being opposed or resisted
2 : capable of being placed against one or more of the remaining digits of a hand or foot (the opposable human thumb)
