Bruce and I were in Houston (or was it Dallas?) for the filming of the WLT video. Stevie asked us to all stick around later for the filming of it. We had NO idea that was going to happen, we were thrilled!! I remember Stevie being silly and joking around in-between takes - singing Talk to Me and forgetting the words. Good times.

Better than the black dress from the SYW tour. At least in the WLT vid she wore a top hat.

It was Houston, darling. And we WERE thrilled! :]
It was also the night that Bette Davis died. And the next morning, my friend Anne made us miss our flight back to Austin...remember? LOL
The video shoot was cool, though. They must have played the song about 5 times and Stevie was in a very funny mood.

Ah, October 6th. I thought it was the fifth. In any case, I wore black that whole week to school. :D

Ah, I was there too! That was my first Stevie concert...I was 9 and went with my aunt and sister. I was too short to see anything so I remember standing on my chair. I'm surprised security didn't make me get down as nowdays I don't think that would fly. I also remember getting the shirt with the picture of her in the the top hat holding the tambourine. I lost it a LONG time ago, but my sister still has hers and shockingly still wears it (it's in BAD shape!)
I remember the filming thing too at the end. We stuck around for what seems like forever while she sang that damn song over and over! We had floor seats at the Summit, but I'm sure we were way too far back to have made it on the video.
And, am I making up memories, or didn't Stevie's hat fall into the audience and she said something like "that was an omen"? And then I think the audience gave it back to her...and then she went into take #50 of WLT!
First Stevie concert I ever went to, and I have been to every Stevie solo show in Houston since. I've lost track of how many that makes.
Anyway, good times. Just thought I'd pop in and talk a little!

I am a HUGE Bette Davis fan...she was, quite simply, the best.
No one else like her...

I loved what she wore in that video.. it's all mixed up... different things all thrown together like she just opened a trunk and grabbed them - very excentric looking...love it! Probably my favorite video of hers.. not sure why, maybe it's because it was the first live video.
