I hope to God they get the sick S.O.B that did this. This place is about 2 hours away from me in the northern part of my state.

There was a man here in MA who was sentenced to a year in prison for brutally beating and skinning alive a dog and a cat last year in his basement. Words can't describe the things that I feel when I hear about that kind of stuff. It feels as if it were my dog that it happened to; I can't fathom a human being so reprehensible that they would harm an animal like that. It really makes me weep.

i HATE people who abuse/kill animals, we had a case here where i live where a guy also got a yr in prison for dragging to death his own dog behind his truck~ the judge said during sentencing that if he could he would ask that the same thing happen to the man as what happened to his dog~ people can be so sick & twisted   :( :( ~

I don't care what anyone thinks, but I firmly believe that anyone who kills or tortures an animal should get the same punishment that they would have gotten if it had been a human that they did it to.

me, too. Hmm, I'll just go along this thread and agree with everything you say. :)
But really, I think they should, too. It shows the same psycopathic tendencies, as far as I'm concerned. THose people should not be allowed to remain in the human flow of traffic, if you see what I mean.

because in Oklahoma "cruelty to animals carries a 2-5 year prison sentence per abuse per animal".

our friends' dog was shot dead by an a-hole with a vendetta. this guy was jacked because our friends posted 'no hunting/trespassing signs' on their property and this guy apparently wanted to hunt in their fields. so one day in broad daylight our friends were outside letting the kids play in the pool and *bang* the dog drops dead. now i am so hating animal violence anyways, but this dog was literally ten feet away from the kids playing with a frisbee. can you imagine how messed up those kids are going to be? the guy got off because he claimed he thought he was shooting at a deer. and he was friendly with the judge. and the judge has no soul. and even though there were signs posted. and the deer was small and black and barking. and in the front yard of a house. next to kids. i would have slain that guy and not had a regret.

a chow-mix named "Muttley" was out in a pasture chasing cattle, when he was shot and killed.

Do I think the rancher/shooter was wrong in doing so? No, He was protecting his investment and had already filed complaints with the sheriff/local PD about wild dogs attacking/maiming and killing his cattle, which around here is only one of the ways to bring in an income..."Muttley" was just in the wrong place at the wrong time doing the wrong thing, probably playfully chasing the cattle around and the rancher thought he was attacking his herd (Viscious was not in "Muttley's" blood...Goofy & playful were.)

The rancher even apologized to us after he learned he made a mistake and offered us a newborn "Australian Blue Sheperd" puppie, But we passed...Too much heartbreak over our loss.

Havent owned a dog since...

OMG. I can't believe he got off. Your friends' lawyer did them a disservice. It should have been easy to prosecute that guy. I mean, children close by?! At the VERY LEAST he should have been prosecuted for hunting on their property, period, let alone shooting their dog, whether he claimed it was accidental or not (****ing liar). I swear to God I want to find that guy and kill him myself.

That is horrible. I can't believe someone could do that and then live with him or herself.

Mariel, your story pissed me off, too. It's even worse that the person couldn't admit his guilt. And Brian, I am so sorry about your dog and I can't blame you for not wanting to have another after that.

I honestly can't even read this stuff. It makes me feel like I will throw up. I look into my new kittens eyes and feel such joy as their innocence pours out of their tiny little purrs. HOW CAN ANYONE HURT AN ANIMAL. Excuse me but those ****ing assholes need to ****ing rott IN HELLLLLLLL.

Kids and animals... you do not hurt them or you're dead in my eyes.
