My great Aunt Jenny had bypass surgery and was doing pretty well, but my mom's cousin just called her and said Aunt Jenny's lung collapsed due to fluid. She is really special to our family. I would appreciate prayers and good thoughts. Thanks in advance.

Krista, my neighbor had bypass surgery this past winter, and his lung collapsed, too. They had to keep him about a week longer as a result of the lung collapse, but everything turned out fine, and he says he feels like a new man now.
I know the lung is a serious thing, but hopefully my neighbor's story helps buoy your hopes. I'll keep your aunt in my thoughts.

That is very encouraging. I hope Aunt Jenny will feel like a new woman after this! She is a strong lady.

Thank you! :) She is a real trooper and ultra liberal, too. ;) She cared for my uncle, who had Alzheimer's, for 10 years before he passed. When she put him in the home (she finally had to), she'd jump all over the staff's asses if she saw any of them mistreating a patient.

I'm sorry your uncle had Alzheimer's. :( My grandfather had it and it's truly awful and frustrating.

It's devastating. :( The tragic part was that he had the early stages in his mid-fifties. That is so, so young. He was in perfect health otherwise. I'm sorry about your grandfather. I hope someday there will be a cure; or at least some drug that slows it significantly.

That's devastating that it happened to him so early in life. My grandfather really didn't start to show signs of it until he was almost 80, so at least a got to live a long life. I'm with you on the drugs, anything that can help that disease is desperately needed.
