And where's young Ryan, while we're at it?
About time for a roll call.

Distension? Are you trying to say something with that or is it a genuine typo?

Sorry, had to ask.

Totally unrelated, but everytime I see MST3K, I think of the Batman show. "Same bat time, same bat channel."

Fair enough, but ugh, Adam West is one of my least favorite performers. No talent, huge ego.

:p My guess is that since it's not spelled dystention (meaning the icky intestinal condition--I think?), it's a genuine typo. For the record folks, his user name is dissention (meaning a differing opinion).

I'm a big MST3K fan... I've been renting the DVDs lately from Blockbuster online. I must have about 20 of them on queue.

Are there extras on the DVDs? The show was pretty no-frills - part of its charm. I can't imagine a big thing on how they designed the robots, for example.

A few of them have had behind the scenes stuff, outtakes and bloopers but I don't think they all do.

MST3K is one of my favorite all-time shows. I preferred Joel, but it was all good.

Just recently, I saw an episode of Cheap Seats on ESPN Classic (where Randy & Jason Sklar show old sports-related film and talk over it) and they were making fun of how they were an MST3K rip-off, and all of a sudden Tom, Crow and Not-Joel-The-Other-Guy (sorry, brain cramp) showed up on the bottom of the screen. They did a couple of segments of the show then disappeared. It was great to see them again.

Truly heartless and self-involved and hilarious to watch. Servo's funny but even funnier when he's with Crow. I love that Gypsy. You know she talks funny because running the SOL is such a strain on her, right? Dr. Forrester's the mad scientist. I thought Pearl Forrester was funnier. You didn't like Mike? I thought he was funnier than Joel and hotter, too. Yeah, we're a little fanatical about MST3K in my family. :o

The outside skits got a little too elaborate for me. What I loved was the commentary, and I was always tapping my foot until they got into that theater! One of my favorites was this Norse film that involved a Santa-like character on a sleigh - been AGES since I've seen that! I have the DVDs of the episodes snarking "The Beginning of the End," "The Girl in Gold Boots," "Hamlet," "Space Mutiny," and "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank." Just recently Cathy from the BN board came over and we watched them do their number on a short film about taking Home Economics from 1950 or so, and before that one which shows kids how to responsibly save money from around the same era. Hilarious!!

Overdrawn at the Memory Bank is probably my favorite episdoe. Raul Julia cracks me up in that movie. And I love the skits in that episode, too. They make fun of PBS well. I think the Norse film you're thinking of is Jack Frost, a Russo-Finnish production, actualy. I remember how Mike and the 'Bots had a field day with that. Nastenka is a kick ass name.

Tom Servo: (While looking at the opening credits of a cheesy movie trying to determine if the worst actor ever is listed in the credits) "Shatner...Shatner...Shatner...No Shatner, We're safe"

I miss seeing MST3KMy mom and I cried when they took it off the air! Seriously!

And after we saw the series finale, we went outside to the backyard and sat down together, mumbling things pitifully, like "They really went home. Mike and the 'bots went home. They're not in space anymore." We loved it so much!
