You would think I'd be past the "crush" stage in my life, but I still get MAJOR crushes on people. Anybody else?

The current crush:

I've had a crush on a guy who used to work at a local martini bar for like more than a year. We've been dancing around each other the whole time, or at least I think we have.

The lame thing about crushes is deep down you don't want anything to ever happen between you and the person you have a crush on 'cause it will kill the organism that is the crush. Crushes are like living, breathing things. They're really strange. If you watched My So-Called Life, Angela talks about her crush on Jordan like that.

So.... who else has a crush and wants to blither about it?

Oh I still get the occassional crush - sadly I haven't had one in about a year :(

My last was last summer while working at NPR - omg - I had the biggest crush on a guy who worked there....and yeah - good description of the crush by you and Angela lol - totally living, breathing things- I tend to obsess a bit (not in a scary way) - and I get really intense crushes. *sigh* I miss having crushes - no one here has captured my fancy yet.

I'm glad you said you obsess. I totally do too. Crushes become all consuming! And it's weird, but yeah, when you don't have a crush, you kinda want one but when you have one, you just want to bash your skull in to get rid of it! I feel like one of these retards ------> :blob2: :]

*sigh*

I get crushes all the time. My current major one... Deanna knows about him! :wavey: (We went out again the other night - six weeks after the first time! Most pleasant shock of my life :) ).

But I also have lots of little crushes on guys I work with. I love it. I love the harmless flirting with some of them, I love the secret lusting about others of them...

I confess. I'm a crush slut. :o

 Seriously.

I have such the obsessive personality (again not in a scary way) - and when I have a crush it's just crazy. Last summer's was nuts - but SO MUCH FUN!!! And the guy was all flirty - so that made it all the more fun/torturous.

I do miss it when I don't have a crush - in recent years I have begun to appreciate the animal that is the crush - and I just enjoy it. Stupid non-interesting Rochester boys  I just haven't met anyone crushworthy.

Now - what would YOU do if someone had a crush on you and you didn't feel the same? Just curious. How would you handle it? (Just for discussion - not meant to be for anyone in particular). :D

Um -that's pretty much always the case  The question should be what would I do if the person actually DID feel the same way lol.

But I've never actually acted on one of my intense crazy crushes - because I just assumed they'd be unrequited. If I were to officially find that were true I'd hold my head up and realize that not everything can work out - and that it's just not meant to be - that is after I spend hours and day crying my pathetic eyes out. :D

I'm currently in the midst of a dry spell, so pretty much I'm crushing on just about every guy in my life right now! Pathetic, I know... :o

But anyways, my primary crush is the bartender at the club I hang out at the most. He's a little bit older, which I'm not usually attracted to, but has a great body and is a huge flirt! I've always been a sucker for bartenders though. And pizza boys. If you can get me drunk or feed me, I'm all yours!!!

Try to be friends with them until, right after they tell you they think they've fallen in love with someone, they proposition you. Then not be friends.

Its a really uncomfortable position to be in. Very flattering but agonizing because you cannot force those kinds of feelings. No matter how much the person says they're fine with being friends they're never satisfied with that.

Ok - so someone having a crush on me that I don't feel the same way about - I've actually got two of that situation going on right now - both situations vastly different.

I tried to remain friends with both guys - it's worked with one - he's a good guy, and calls me lovely ego-building nicknames - but understands the boundaries and the fact that I don't feel the same way.

The other guy? IDIOT! I told him MANY TIMES that I am not interested - the first he seemed cool so we continued to be friends - then one night he literally went through EVERYTHING I'd said/done and outlined how he though that my words/actions meant I like him

So I pretty much stopped talking to him after that until he begged me to be friends again - I felt bad and so I agreed - then one night at a bar I was very drunk, and he followed me to the bathroom (he was not drunk) and tried to kiss me etc...I was drunk but not THAT drunk and I shoved him out of my way and left....to find out he then told everyone we were with that I made out with him WTF!?!

So um I basically yelled at him and told him to go away, I would never ever go out with him.

So um - usually I try to be nice about it and stay friends - until the other person ends up being a putz in which case they get bitchy me.

I do have a crush on this guy at work. I never see him anymore though. But once in a while I do, I see him at our beer blasts which we haven't had for a while. He's cool but he's not a good person to get involved with as far as I can see, in terms of emotional issues/baggage. So I stay away. He may know I have this crush because I told this girl we work with who is friends with him. Cocktails'll do it to ya! If he asked me out would I go? You betcha! But he hasn't and its probably for the better.

I have a crush on this bass player in this band I love but that isn't realistic at all. Nevertheless it is fun to swoon while he's up on stage looking all hot and such. :D

Last nite my roommate and I met a couple of underage guys who got into a club here cuz they know someone or whatever. One asks, "Where do you go to school?" That was too funny. One of them was 21 and he was cute. But not really a crush I guess, hehe.

Oh in high school, I was the same age as Angela was in that show and I had this massive, huge, crush on a guy. I was seriously infatuated with him until a year after I graduated. Anyway, that show helped me so much with that crush...anyway.

I was crushing on a guy at work. He turned me down. I'm over it now. I am crushless now and life just seems easier that way. Boring, but so much easier. Lately any guy I crush on I don't get anyway.

I don't get crushes easily. I can honestly say that in high school, I had perhaps two crushes. Nothing major. One guy wanted to use me and made it obvious on our senior trip. The other guy was much older and though we were friends, he had a girlfriend. Thusly, I got over those crushes really fast. In college, one -- my professor wanted to set me up with another student but, he had a girlfriend and they were having "issues." No dice. It's a rarity that I ever find anyone like minded, intelligent, witty and of course, nice looking that I could even have a crush on -- or date for that matter. Thusly, my ever-present single status. I think I need to move

I worked for a Jewish newspaper and quit 'cause I had a better offer and GET THIS! They bought me a cake and had a little party for me which was super cute, but they also gave me a card. The two owners of the paper wrote in the card "I forgive you," as opposed to "good luck on your new venture" or something like that. CAN YOU IMAGINE???!!! Hilarious!

Is he into you too? Lame that he might be moving! I'm not sure how much dating you do, but for me to find some one i'm interested in (a la GardenStateGirlie) is like a miracle. And then if I found out he was moving, I'd probably barf. Actually... there is a guy who works at a bank downtown I've had my eye on for a long time. One of these days we're supposed to have drinks with a mutual friend, but he's moving to Paris in September. Time's a wastin'! I better get things moving so I can at least get some for a couple months before he leaves!

I think he's into me. He came up when I was sitting by myself when my friends went to get another drink.

Well, he asked if his best friend was dating me. I said no and that we are just really good friends. He then asked for my number and suck. He's soooo freaking cute...and has my crazy style. I'm in lust.

I'm not one who considers crushes annoying. I love to have the shallow, based-on-nothing-in-particular kind. I have those often enough. They distract me from real life and are particularly welcome when I'm going through something unpleasant and need an escape. It's so much better than having the heart-wrenching, everlasting kind of feelings for someone that (in my experiences) wind up causing ****loads of pain somewhere down the line. An innocent crush that isn't going anywhere and doesn't seem to want to go anywhere is heaven sent.

That being said, I have such a crush on a Ledgie right now. I don't want anything to come of it (I can't imagine dating someone from the internet) and even so, I'm sure nothing would, anyway. But damn, it's SO fun. :blob2: I have no idea what this person looks like so I've been fantasizing about that lately.

Me and my tact. We have been separated again. Can't seem to find it.

He isn't? Oh, okay.

I have a harmless celebrity crush--the best kind for me--on Ioan Gruffudd. I have ever since I saw 'Horatio Hornblower' on television, and that was back when I was pretty young. I saw 'King Arthur' in the theater and 'Century City' on television a while ago; since then I've been only more smitten.

This is totally lame, but I'm not going to let that stop me. It certainly hasn't before!

I had a dream a few nights ago, and at one point I was leaning forward to kiss Mr. Gruffudd. As I drew him closer to me and he the same, I felt my nose hit something. Then, suddenly, I realized that in my dream I had been having a silly little fantasy. My nose had hit the refrigerator. I was standing in front of the refrigerator deciding what it was that I wanted to eat. After I woke up from that, I laughed and then went to get something to eat. :o

(Good thing my parents didn't question why I wanted to see 'The Fantastic Four!' I like superheroes, but that wasn't my main reason. If only they knew...:o)

I love having sex dreams! They're the closest thing I get to sex! I had a random sex dream about I guy I went to high school with. I don't remember details, but I woke up with a big crush on him and have been kinda thinking about him since. Weird. I've never thought about him in my life!

Oh and Mr. Gruffudd is damn fine!

Here is a warning story for you on Celebrity crushes. We were dead at work, and on the craps table (I work in a casino) we were discussing who we thought was cute - a babe - ...etc on TV. Well, I mentioned I thought a certain person on TV (Who shall remain nameless) was "a babe". It turns out a frined of mine knew someone who actually Knew her! So, a few weeks later (Unknown to me they did this) - I get a package in the mail with an autographed picture and a note from her. I can only imagine what they said to her. *very embarrased* So be careful who you mention these things too.

So....

I was at the Calgary Folk Music Festival, which was ridiculously good as a side note, and guess who was there? None other than my stinking crush! I was innocently sitting alone on a park bench eating my big plate of Indian food and there he was sitting across the way from me. The thing is, I'm REALLY sick of the crush I have on him. It's totally stupid. So, I just kinda rolled my eyes and said "Oh God!" quietly to myself, finished my meal and went on my way to see more music. Turns out he was working at one of the hippie wares booths, but his booth wasn't selling stuff. I'm not sure what it was. Anyway, since I have this retarded crush on him, obviously I made a point of walking past his booth. And of course I didn't talk to him like a normal human being would do. Oh no, I walked right by pretending not to see him. I really should just be put outta my misery!

I've always had a crush on this girl name Chelly, I worked with her for about 2 years but she was dating another guy during that whole time. She is still dating him now, and I just saw her at a party with her man this past weekend. She's as hot as ever...but her boyfriend is a nice guy and I could never tell her that I'd be a great cat for her.

Oh SUCK!! Well, you don't know for sure that he was on an actual date, do you? Were they making out? Maybe they're just friends... or coworkers... I'm sure I've told this story before, but the last major crush I had was awhile back and it was a woman that just started working with me. She was a dead ringer for Catherine Deneuve and I was in love with her. I mean, I salivated over the woman. I then asked her out a couple weeks after she started...and she was married. Wedding ring and everything. I felt like such a ****ing fool and I'm turning red just typing this.

Hmmm.... I think it has to do with a relationship that ended a while back... sometimes it's just hard to get past that. I admit... I'm still bitter and pissed off about it. Also, my best friend moved away and I had a death in my family. I just feel like being a loner right now... I turned my cell phone off a couple weeks ago. I live in the middle of the city... I can walk outside my door and there are things to do... by lately I don't feel up to it. I'm having dinner with a friend tommorrow night and I'm going to San Francisco this weekend to hang out with my best friend and maybe see Ms. Nicks so that will help.

Not that much, but it was fun, and he suggested camping. As we all know, I'm a camping whore without a car. Actually, though, there's an extenuating circumstance that makes me not as into it as I would be otherwise, because it was fun and good and stuff. It's probably one of those things where you do it one more time, or maybe take a short camping trip together, then randomly hook up when you go to town again (he lives in another town). Anyways. So, yes and no. :D In a way I'm into it, and in another way I'm not. So, like I said, a few more times. ;) Okay, plus, it's hard not to be into someone when they are so into you, and so enthusiastic. Like "I have to see you again!", you know? But not stalker-ey, just stoked. :)
