i think that of the FM albums, Tusk certainly has the most consistently great material. i read a review (many a year ago) that praised stevie's work on the album and the writer basically begged for an all-stevie album.

as for the other albums, there's always one song that's way off IMO (namely IDWTK, WTTRS, Freedom). Mirage holds a candle to Tusk, but there's only three stevie-songs so it doesn't get my vote. i will have to say that SYW could begin to rival Tusk, but it's still too new to me. one day...?

And as far as Fleetwood Mac, I would say that SYW is her best material. There is only one song I am not a huge fan of, Silver Girl, but the other nine songs of hers are amazing!!! (Including Not Make Believe which should have been on the album instead of Bleed to Love Her). But something tells me Lindsey wouldn't appprove of Stevie having more songs then he did.

i love SYW, it's definitely tied with Tusk for most-played-in-its-entirety album. as for stevie's work, i love the SYW songs (with the exception of Silver Girl) but like i said, they're still a little too new for me to be ranking some of them with Sara or Sisters.

and i think Wild Heart or TISL whomps TOSOTM any day ;)

Bella Donna - perfection to these ears and NOTHING will ever top that voice as far as I am concerned.

Having said that and much like LB, CM, and FM, I like pretty much all of her work - some more than others.

Her Say You Will songs almost rival her Tusk songs, but thats kind of cheating because there's 9 of them. And then there's the Rumours songs. If I take out IDWTK and replace it with Silver Springs we then have SS, GDW and Dreams which although tired live is still one of her best songs ever. And then if you count Think About It and Planets of the Universe possibly making the album, you got five great songs right there. And then there's Rhiannon, Crystal and Landslide with almost Sorcerer. Those are all stellar but in the end I have to say Tusk still wins for her.

I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite Stevie album ever. :thumbsup:I wish a talented engineer would get hold of the master tracks & redo the album.

Rupert Hine ought to be ashamed of himself.

Her best in Fleetwood Mac is definitely Say You Will. For her solo stuff I think Rock a Little is her best.

It sure is! 10 classics, and I love every one. Wild Heart didn't get my number one pick because of Gate & Garden. For FM albums...Tusk is pretty good, but adding in Silver Springs and Think About It to the Rumours lineup wins it for me.....those two....with Dreams and Gold Dust Woman and I Don't Want To Know, that's some damn good music there.

The Wild Heart, followed by Bella Donna, followed by Rock A Little.
Of the three, TWH reaches the greatest heights (I just wish it had Garbo instead of B&TB, & you don't need to attack me, I know I'm in the minority). Bella Donna is the most consistent. RAL is just fun & wild.

Enchanted Disc #1 might have my vote if it had The Highwayman instead of OMBTRARS, which I think would fit better on Disc #2. Also, I'd prefer it to have the album version of Blue Denim. And live Edge instead of B&TB. :D

For FM albums, I prefer Stevie's work on Mirage, followed by the White FM Album, followed by Tusk.

I love all of them, but Belladonna and WildHeart are my first faves.Remember that the names of these albums have two words & three words, respectively --- Bella Donna & The Wild Heart.

Gold Dust Woman is three words.
Stand Back is two words.
You Make Loving Fun does not have an apostrophic ellipsis (Lovin').

Thank you!

As far as pristine perfection in production, vocals and song selection Bella Donna handily wins for her solo.Tusk was her artistic high water mark in FM .Later albums like TISL amd TOSOTM would rate higher than they do if they were pared down to ten of the best tracks on each.

Oh this makes me sooo mad. It is the fair way to do it for them both to have nine songs. Stevie probably WANTED it that way.
Bleed to Love Her was on the album for very specific reasons, IMHO...reasons that mean nothing to us. The fact he needed to put the studio version on the album speaks volumes.

Favorite Stevie album...Wild Heart and Trouble in Shangri La

Favorite Stevie with Mac...Tusk hands down. Then Say You Will. It is a shame Gypsy is on Mirage cause that song is just brilliance but the rest of the album? Meh.

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR!!!

Ugh. I like OSOTM, but with turds like Ghosts and Two Kinds of Love, I could never call it one of her greatest.

Out of all of her albums, the best has to be The Wild Heart, imo.

I'm not sure which Stevie solo album I consider the best at this point. Not too long ago, I would've chosen Bella Donna without a doubt, followed by TISL, but now I'm inclined to say The Wild Heart. I'm starting to wonder why people put Bella Donna above it, except that "Outside the Rain" is my favorite solo song of hers. And then the thing with The Wild Heart is that I don't think "Beauty and the Beast" is one of her best songs, but there are so many other standout tracks on that album for me. So, I don't know.

I suppose her best work with the Mac is on Tusk, though I truly adore all of her Mirage songs.

Most of it is drivel. Each song seems to have it's moment, but the good moments are wrapped in tacky packages.

One might think I would automatically spring forth and cry "Rock A Little"! But, actually I think that 'Bella Donna' is her greatest album. I can sit and listen to it from end to end (and usually do) and never have to hit the forward button to skip a song I'm not nuts about. And, the album sounds so complete. Rather like a 'concept album', I guess. I was only 11 when the album came out, but was already a Stevie disciple and when the songs were played on the radio and everyone was like "ahh, Stevie Nicks without Fleetwood Mac? I love this song!!" I was like "of course you do, how could this not be wonderful?"

Oh, and I agree with David, maybe OSOTM could be saved by a different producer. Strip away all the tinkly-winkly synths and add some guitar, percussion and Hammond organ. 'Blue Denim' was saved on SA by such a treatment, compare it to the dull, flat version she included on the 'Enchanted' set.

It´s hard to say which album is best, because on each album I have some very favurite songs and some I really don´t like.

I´d say Timespace, because of the song list:].

And with FM? Probably, Tango in the Night. I love that album and also Tango tour. Each album is very adherent to tour, so If I said sometimes that I´m not fan of 75-83 albums and tours, that doesn´t mean that I don´t like songs from that times. I love them, but If I listen to them, it´s mostly some record from late 80s or 90s concert.
