Well, the show tonight was wonderful! The only person I met was Mary and I forgot her screen name. She called me this morning to tell me that single tickets were available for the SECOND ROW! I picked up a ticket and sat with Mary the whole night. My three friends were back behind me. For anyone who was paying attention, I was wearing a Stevie outfit and had a gold sparkly shawl on and was on the second row on the far left of the stage.
Vanessa Carlton was wonderful. I honestly loved her! She said the same things that others have posted like, "Hi - I'm Stevie Nicks", "I just dress like her", "The fans are so wonderful because of the singer/songwriter relationship with the audience". A very gifted piano player with a great voice. She got a standing ovation and it wasn't because we were just being nice. She really was that good.
To pick up in a couple of places where Wondergirl left off, she did dedicate HAEWAFY to the audience and said she wrote it in 1984 after hearing somebody tell her a story that changed her life and came home to Phoenix and wrote the song. I know, Joe Walsh, but she did dedicate it to the audience.
She dedicated Landslide to the pilot during Fleetwood Mac. Is his name Gary or Dennis? I remember that he lived in Dallas and perhaps he was in the audience tonight.
The piano intro to Rhiannon was stunning. I actually didn't recognize the song  . I asked Mary, "What song is this?" and she knew it was Rhiannon. Honestly, it didn't sound like it in the beginning.
Everyone on stage was having a blast. Waddy was playful, Al Ortiz never, ever stops smiling and he sang back-up with Sharon and Jana during Beauty and the Beast. Jimmy the drummer and Taku are AMAZING. The loudest applause went to Waddy, Brett, Taku and Sharon during the band intros. Stevie said Jana was a bundle of love and spread her love every where she went. She introduced Sharon as the Goddess who teaches everyone their singing parts and called her Sharona Celani. Sharon and Jana were wearing the same outfits they wore at the Saturday Vegas show. Stevie also mentioned that Brett and Taku did the 135 shows for Fleetwood Mac.
Before the show, I asked security when they were gong to let people come to the stage. The guy said, not until the encore and only the first four rows.
After Landslide, I bolted my three or four feet and he tried to put up his hand to hold me back. I said, "Man you are about to get slammed - EVERYONE is headed down now. We've been doing this for years and this is the moment they tried to tell you about". He let me pass and we got to the stage and then they were wicked about anyone else getting close. Nobody got up that wasn't in those first few rows.
Mary and I stood there and the stage for Edge as people filed in all around us. I met a couple of guys who came up from Houston and one woman next to me said, "I've been waiting 25 years for this moment". I was glad that everyone got to hold Stevie's hand. When she came to me I said, "Thank you so much Stevie - we love you". Stevie said, "Thank you so much for being here". Somebody on down the row gave her a painting and I also saw someone give her a beautiful necklace. She motioned for her security guy to let them get backstage and he handed them passes. :blob2: At the end of the show, she was pointing to them and waving for them to come on back. I tossed 3 roses made out of red duct tape to Cory Buckingham. (My son makes them - they are very pretty and very original.) She motioned to me that she would give them to Stevie.
Vanessa came back out to sing "Rock and Roll" and it rocked! Stevie looked so cool in her pants and that hat with the funky feather! This was the only time she took off her Frankenboks and was wearing black boots. She knocked it out of the park.
For Beauty, she did leave the pants on, but put on the Vegas jacket and pulled her hair up. It was stunningly beautiful.
The guys from Houston said this show was better because of the acoustics. I'm a proud Texan and Dallasite. I loved hearing that our show was better than Houston.
It was a wonderful show! I'll post more if anything else pops in my head!
Love,
Patty

Yeah, but you guys get the snow & ice. :p
Glad you had a great time.
BTW, anytime I hear a long piano intro & Stevie leaves the stage, it's a good bet it's Rhiannon.

So, some people were invited backstage? LH..you better call me asap! If she didn't ask some hot questions, I will kick her punk ass.
I LOVE when Stevie dedicates Landslide to random people like that. Dedicating it to the pilot is so Stevie.

And I will help :p I remember the interview with the pilot during the first leg of the FM tour -- his family would often go to the shows

Hey You! I was over at your board in the middle of the night. I love the new layout and went to post something and then it lost my post. I figured it wasn't meant to be because I was talking about how hot the Eagles are and my new passion (however unexpected) for Timothy.
I was surprised that he didn't make an appearance either. God I was hoping he would show up and at least sing, "Leather and Lace", but no Don. Maybe he was backstage or something. I did see him back in 2001 and he was sitting in the audience about three or four rows back, right in the middle.

Is it possible he's rehearsing (or maybe even recording) with The Eagles before they head back out on the road?

I saw you, I was that short gal in the red shirt with my mom. I wish I had known you were a Ledgie! I cannot believe security was being crap to you! What the frick?
Anyways, it was fun! I'm glad your memory is better than mine. LOL
Since I'm a midget, what was the painting of? I never saw it, I only saw some pink flowers.

I know Eagles rehearsal doesn't start until next week at the earliest (it's more likely the week after that) and Glenn and Joe just did a private gig in Hawaii so it's unlikely he's recording with the Eagles, but it is very possible he's in LA finishing up a solo album that's supposed to come out next year.
Patty....glad you like the new look of the board. Another Timothy convert......[head shaking] [VBG] You've no doubt noticed you have lots of company! Feel free to post about your new-found lust anytime. :)

Hi Patty, It was great meeting you!
I really suck at remembering details, but I do have a few additional comments about the show.
As most people who've been to other shows on this tour have said, Stevie's voice does sound incredible! She's hitting higher notes than I've heard from her in a long time. I particularly remember the beginning of Rhiannon... flawless!
Landslide was the biggest surprise for me. I really didn't think I'd care for it without Lindsey. But her harmonies with Sharon and Jana were incredible, and I loved Brett's guitar playing on that song. Plus, the pictures of Stevie on the screen really added to the song, IMO. Seeing pictures of her through the years as she's singing "I'm getting older too" gave me goose bumps, for some reason.
I also loved Rock & Roll! She did finally put on the real platforms for this song. Her outfit was great! I know some people don't really care for the hat or spandex pants, but I loved seeing her dressed that way. Very funky, IMO. And she really seems to have a lot of fun on this song!
And of course, B&TB was breathtaking. She looked so gorgeous and her voice was incredible!
Oh yeah, and it was great shaking her hand during Edge. As many others have mentioned, her hands are very tiny and soft.
This was my first time seeing Stevie solo, and it was a lot of fun. She was much more playful and "sassy" than with FM. She sounded great, and looked gorgeous!
It was also nice meeting a few board members... and seeing old friends I'd met at the SYW shows I went to. I had a great time!
- Mary
P.S. Christy, I think I saw you. Were you sitting in section 104, just across the aisle from us? I was next to Patty, in the light blue tank top.

Unfortunately, no, we aren't going to Phoenix for the benefit. We're going to Colorado Springs to see Don solo the night before and there's no way to get to Phoenix the next day since we're driving.

I was just looking at the "Going To Dallas - Yeah Baby" thread yesterday, and saw your pic. I think I saw you at the show as well! You were really "gettin' down"! (I'm dating myself with that expression, aren't I?)
Our section was filled with a bunch of duds. They only stood for a few songs. Since Patty and I were in row 2, we didn't feel comfortable standing because we thought people would get P.O.'d at us for blocking their view. I'm used to standing and dancing at concerts, and hate feeling confined to my seat. Your section was definitely more fun!
I was actually sitting behind you guys for Vanessa's set, and the very beginning of Stevie's. I was having trouble seeing Vanessa around the guy in front of me, and there were a bunch of empty seats behind you guys. So I sat there with Patty's friends until the people finally showed up.

Yes, that was me! Patty's friends joined me during the intermission, until we got kicked back to our seats.
I was wondering if you were from the boards, because you seemed to know several other people around you. As you can see from my post count, I don't post here often. So I don't know everyone. But I do love meeting others from the boards when I get the chance!

Because they gave her a gift or maybe she knew them somehow?
Another thing - is it common for Stevie to reply when you give her something or yell out "Thank you! I love you!" or something like that? The first time I held her hand, I yelled that I loved her, and the second time I handed her a drawing and bear, and she never replied but looked at me with a smile for a sec and then rushed to shake the others' hands. Is that normally how it is? How common is a reply? I still have lots to learn about Stevieworld!

LOL I had never met Travis and Erica in person, but I think us Ledgies just sort of "know" or something. I kept saying to my mom "I wonder where Travis is, I am trying to remember what his picture looked like." then, he turns around and goes "Are you Christy?" LOL!!
I hope we get to chat next show.

I wish I could draw that well! :o I used Jasc Paint Shop Pro to add some different textures and effects to get it to look like a sketch. It wasn't exactly what I intended, but I liked the way it turned out. It's fun to play around with that software.

Fine, but I'm going to be focused on bending my neck up to see Paula's wall clock, and I'd much prefer just about any song to Lindsey's ode to Ms. Heche Lafoon.
