By far my all time favorite...I have the demo...but was wondering....has this ever been done live? Did they perform "Storms" during the 1979/1980 "Tusk" Tour? Anyone know of any bootlegs of this? I would love to see her close a show with this song.

Storms is probably my favorite too. I wish Stevie would perform it live but she never has.

Storms is also one of my fav's. Now that she has done Sara again during SYW we should now campaign for this song to be performed live. :o
By the way I'm in Ohio, too. I live near Columbus :wavey:

I would say Storms is probably my all time favorite. I feel something when I hear those first few chords start up.

Storms is one of my absolute favorite songs..... Once again it proves her incredible songwriting ability, as well as the beauty of simplicity. The first time I heard this song & she sang:
So I try to say
Goodbye my friend
I'd like to leave you with something warm
But never have I been a blue calm sea
I have always been a storm
Her voice cracks a little, like she's about to cry. It broke my heart.... she has a way of pulling you into her world for a few moments, and you begin to feel everything she's feeling....and you just get her :)

Eh, it doesn't do much for me. Beautiful Child blows this song out of the water if you ask me.

It's not really a boot but there is a version with just Lindsey on guitar.

Pssh. Storms rules Beautiful Child. It steals its lunch money on the playground every day.

Beautiful Child blows compared to Storms. Lyrically there is no comparison. It would be a good song for Michael Jackson to cover.

Your eyes say yes
But you don't say yes
I wish that you were mine

I know I've said this before, but Storms was the reason I became a fan. I can't even describe how much this song makes me feel and how much I love it. I would pay almost any amount of money to hear her do it live. In my opinion, BC can't hold a candle to it. No way. BC is awesome on its own, but Storms makes me cry everytime I hear it. Literally. Everytime. Tusk was just the most incredible album ever made.

Sign me up, too.
Though I'm a bit more eager for Sisters.
I want Sisters, Storms, & Straight Back! :blob2:
But apparently New Additions = Covers in Stevie's mind. :distress:

I love Storms but Beautiful Child is my favorite Stevie song There is no comparison in my mind. The lyrics are so incredible in both but BC is so much more heartfelt, IMHO. Watching her sing it live, it became so obvious how deeply this song still touches Stevie to this very day. Her adlibs at the end put it over the top.
Storms has some gorgeous guitar work and I would love to see it live but I don't think that will ever happen. I said somewhere recently that when Stevie feels connected to certain lyrics in a song, she performs it so much better. I know she feels a connection to all her lyrics but what I mean is lyrics touching her because of what is happening in her life at the present time. I could feel her passion behind BC......the depth of her emotion, the level of intimacy she conveyed in the lyrics took my breath away some nights. She was just so connected to the words and it made the performance gorgeous. I dont know that she would "feel" Storms as much these days. Oh, the layering harmonies on Storms is just stunning. (BC too) Lindsey's production of all of Stevie's Tusk songs was pure brilliance.

Ditto to most of this comment Kelly ;)
I agree with your observations of Lindsey's contributions to TUSK- I love both these songs and for different reasons/moods/emotions/needs... The only song that I think I could listen to every day is the "original un-released b-side of Silver Springs". I think it is Stevie's best and the bands' best tune. (At least as of 9:20 7/18...I may change my mind tomorrow)

Storms is nothing short of a masterpiece. She would probably lose it and start to cry like a baby if she ever did it live. One of my favorite songs of all time. BC doesn't compare to it IMO, although BC did kick ass live. I especially love Storms because I can relate all to well to her heartbreak and being a storm because I am nothing short of a hurricane ;) Sometimes I think of her and Mick when I hear it since it's about him.

Storms is pne of those songs I constantly return to, because it's always able to bring to me so many deep and new emotions at the same time. It's in my top 5 too.

There's no way I could've said it better than you just did!. It's so hard for me to pick just ONE song as a favorite. I have "main favorites" and "lesser favorites", but if HAD to pick just the one for all time, Storms is it without a doubt.

I'm a sucker for all of Stevie's Tusk songs. But yes, absolutely, Storms is probably in my Top 10, if not my top 5.
