Which version of this video do you prefer, the officially released version or the civil war version, and why?

i have spent the last twenty years turned around on escalators and moving walkways because of the original, so i can't really say that i don't love it. even that extra fierce looking dance gang is funny sometimes...
however, i'm a huge GWTW freak so the civil war version has always struck a chord. and there's something great about her big, swishing skirts that i love.
so, i love them equally.

I love both--she looked so pretty in the treadmill video----but I agree that I think the song doesn't fit the Civil War version..... Doing the Best that I Can would have fit that better in my opinion (even though it is escape from Berlin!! LOL!!)--but that wasn't released as a single so it would have never been....... I just think that footage would have been better with a slower song--not a funky dance beat song!! :]

Officially released version. She looks so hot in it and the twirling at the beginning is marvelous.

I prefer the officially released version. "A dance video for a dance song."
The Civil War-themed video is pretty great in its own way, but I don't think it was a good fit for the vibe of the song.

Since it was made for MTV, they chose the right video. Personally, I like the Civil War version much more -- I love the story it tells and IMO, it does fit with what she's trying to convey. Of course, there are some things I would have tweaked in that video but then again, there's a lot I would have done differently in the officially released video.

The gayer, the better.
One part is so gay I can't stand it. I believe Brad Jeffries was the choreographer, and the part where the camera is on him spinning around is so gay it can not be described with words. He twirls around on one foot, and then jerks his head around to give this "tough" look to the camera that would not frighten a lamb.

Please get yourself a copy of the SNL Stand Back  He comes out of nowhere and starts dancing up on her doing all of these crazy jerky movements -- I cannot stop laughing when I watch it
