My husband bought me Red Rocks and I watched it last night for the first time in maybe, 15(?) years. So, of course the editing was horrendous- poor Stevie- but I enjoyed it anyway. I realy miss theimpromtu dancing that Stevie used to do back in the day.

Can someone give me a list of must see Stevie videos?

Also, after seeing this concert footage again, my question is, why do some people not believe that Beauty and the Beast is about Mick? Even if you were to disregard what Stevie says in interviews, how can one disregard the obvious statement made in Red Rocks? Just curious.

I think some people don't want to believe that Stevie and Mick had a really special relationship. I think some people just plain don't like Mick and some Lindsey/Stevie shippers swear that every single song she's ever written has to be about Lindsey.

If all you go by is the re-edited video of Mick at Red Rocks then I see why that makes sense to the average person. Maybe a lot of fans don't know a huge portion of the RR video was filmed months later after Stevie go out of rehab? Mick happend to be at Red Rocks (rounding up the cash cow to get her back to the studio for TITN) when they used him in some footage which was actually filmed after the show not when she was singing the song. Some people who saw her perform BATB on the WH tour, before Mick was connected to it by video implication, don't believe it's a song ABOUT Mick. He may have provided some inspiration, but that's not the same as saying a song is ABOUT that person. A lot of fans think BATB is about the movie. I think it's mostly a song Stevie wrote about herself and reflects why she likes that movie so much.

Wouldn't Stevie have to give permission for the re-editing? Like, showing her during "who is the beauty" and him during "where is my beast"?

I didn't say it was without her permission.

Well another big clue is Stevie saying "Mick" right before B&theB started at the Saturday Vegas performance...

No... Mick was sitting backwards in his seat in Vegas and Stevie said "MICK"... to get him to turn around and listen!... He was yakking away with people behind him and distracting her ;)

No **** Sherlock! I was seated on the aisle in the row across from him. In his defense, he was juggling two little ones and a couple of teenagers sitting with him, not to mention the fans about to approach. Security did come before it was over to escort him out.

They still do, IMO.

though i dislike his personality and find him to be a completely unattractive man, i realize that stevie just might see something in him as a friend that she has shared so much with - in addition to what sounds like a whirlwind love affair. they've been photographed together fairly consistently over the past twenty years at random industry functions and always seem to be enjoying one another's company. good for them. that having been said, i don't know why he was edited into RR when he was but someone had to okay it. be it stevie, her management, her whoever - someone had to approve. i always laugh when he pops up when she sings 'beast' - how funny?

also, the BATB inspiration thread got pretty ridiculous after the vegas shows... hint?

He played conga drums & camp-followed her entourage.

it's just odd that they put him where they did, i can see why some would raise an eyebrow.

I'd like to quickly add the astrological perspective. Stevie has Venus in Cancer, Mick is a Cancer. This almost always signals an attraction. It's also like, I have Venus in Gemini, Stevie is a gemini. Therefore I love her.
But sesly, I can totally see how they would be compatible. They are both silly, and hammy. They probably have all kinds of silly private jokes together, and stuff. Yes, I can see how Mick is icky, but he's probably also a nice, interesting man in a lot of ways. And probably was/is very attentive, in that way that some
other big rock guy will never be.
Also...he is very tall, if you see what I mean.

i'm going to have to have you run my chart someday, maybe it will provide insight as to why the hell things happen in my life. at least i'd be able to be like "well i knew this would happen, i do have this sign in this house..." or however it goes. ;)

And probably was/is very attentive, in that way that some other big rock guy will never be.I think Mick has a heart & is basically a sentimental old fuddy-duddy. Do you remember that telling moment in the 1990 Rock Steady show when the camera is slowly zooming in on Mick's face as he is being asked something about the band -- something about how love kept them together -- & Mick gets very quiet & you can tell he's getting a lump in his throat & his eyes get a bit watery, & all he can manage to say is something like, "I never really thought of it that way, but that's very true." And he is quiet again -- he's overcome & he can't finish speaking.

At moments like that, I really love Mick. I mean, I love Mick anyway, but sometimes I forget that I love Mick when he's packaging piss-poor products & pawning them off on susceptible Fleetwood Mac fans.
