Oh, what a night! It was magical, hot and sticky at the same time. The show rocked and Stevie was great vocally (she looked a little tired but with the hot humid weather, who could blame her?)
Okay, it was about 100 degrees, everyone was sweating and every redneck in town was there! If I had a dollar for every mullet I saw tonight, I'd be rich! I had no idea Tampa was so hick-ish!
Anway, Vanessa's set was short and sweet. I was really impressed with her vocals and piano and thought she was great! Very pretty girl and has a wonderful sense of humor. I felt bad though since everyone was still lingering around the venue and very few people were sitting down watching her set. I really enjoyed her songs though, but thought that some of them started to blend together and sound the same.
Stevie finally came out around nine o clock and looked beautiful!!! Enchanted was great! I loved the "It was a shame that you wanted me, you didn't try!" thing. Stop Draggin my Heart Around was great also. She did this fake punch/bitch slap towards Waddy during this song I believe.
OTR was pretty good, but nothing can touch Vegas 5/14/05's version of this song! It was still pretty strong, as was Dreams.
Rhiannon was great, as usual. The ending was really good. I was pissed that people started to sit down by this point in the show. I was in the 7th row and I was practically the only one standing!
Sorcerer was great! Very fun song! When she was like "I'm tired, thirsty, in my misery!" I was like "So am I! Why isn't this show indoors in the air conditioning?" LOL
HAEWAFY was the best song of the night, in my opinion. Her vocals were far superior to the album version and she was just so intense and passionate during this song. I loved it! I almost wanted to cry...
Circle Dance was pretty good. It was not the amazing thing everyone said it was. Her vocals were steller, but I like songs actually written by Stevie to be quite honest. It was nice hearing something new though!
Landslide- this was actually one of my favorite performances of the night. I loved seeing her do this song and seeing the old Stevie footage as a backdrop. Is this all the old footage that was supposed to be shown in Vegas? It was amazing! Seeing old footage of her from 20 years ago and then hearing Stevie "I'm getting older too" just gave me chills. (FYI- Stevie says that Landslide is now called "The Cat Song" "you think it's gone and then it creeps back up onto your bed" says Stevie. Implying that the song was kicked off the setlist and now it's back! Oh, and she dedicated Landslide to me! Well, actually she said "you" meaning the whole audience... so not just me.
Fall From Grace- I really loved this song. It was better then in Vegas in my opinion. The ending was fantastic! She held the note for so long!
Gold Dust Woman- Great song, as always. I loved the ending. I think she kept saying "You can't save me now, can't save me now" which suprised me because I was expecting "can't see me now"...
Stand Back was really awesome! Luckily, the drum solo only lasted about 45 seconds tonight!!! The vocals were great and she did a lot of twirling, but she twirled somewhat slowly. I have a feeling this has to do with the 100 degree weather. Who would want to get all hot and sweaty twirling across the stage? Not me!
Edge of 17- I was in the 7th row, center section, seat one. So, I was in an aisle seat, which meant easy stage rushing access!!! The second people headed towards the stage, I bolted for it and secured a spot at the stage. The stage was really tall. I would say at least five and half feet tall. So, I wasn't sure how the Edge walk was going to work, but it did!!! Stevie started making her way towards the left of the stage and I was getting so excited! I held both arms out to Stevie and she grabbed both of them and squeezed them so tight. While she was doing this she smiled right at me so hard and I mouthed the words "I love you." I didn't want to let go of her hands but eventually I had to! Then, when she leaned over me to shake hands with a guy behind me, her chest was right smack in my face. God, Stevie has a nice rack! Sign me up to be in the SOTB/BOTB club!!! Also, I got to touch her leg warmers and reeboks! LOL
Her Edge wail was really incredible. As was the Edge ending. I loved the "It sounds like you!!!!" part.
Rock and Roll was really great. Stevie was in great spirits during this song and I loved the pants! She loooks so great in them. Her legs are really lean and pants really work for her. She threw her hat off during this song and threw her tambo across the stage. Also, there was a lot of pulling the mic stand way back and belting out the notes. This was an awesome song!!!
Beauty and the Beast was magical! Stevie looked beautiful. Best delivery during this song was the line "If you don't tell her, tell her now!" I loved it!
The show was great!!!! It was muddy and raining and hot and sticky at the amphitheater though. But that's nobody's fault really...
Yes, there were tourbooks!!!! I almost purchased one but I really wanted to buy a shirt. Which, I just tried on and it doesn't fit me very good anyway! I almost purchased Curtis's favorite rainbow shirt. It was on clearance for ten dollars. I was like, "Well it would make a good gym shirt" and then I was like "I don't want to be seen wearing that at the gym... people would talk!" So, no rainbow shirt for me!
Off to Miami tomorrow. Third row center so my seats will be better. I only got one picture from the show tonight. The person that was with me got a picture of me and Stevie holding hands via their camera phone. It is pretty blurry, but it is pretty coool to have a picture of me and Stevie togehter!

It looked about the same size as the SYW tourbook, maybe a few less pages. The cover was really beautiful and the back was a candid photo of her and Waddy hugging from the current tour. Damn, I wish I purchased. I had enough money on me too, I just forgot...

i was there too, we were seventh row on the right side - aka the two girls who simply would not sit whilst screaming along much to the chagrin of those around them...
i'm glad someone else wrote a review, i've been busy fighting with photobucket to upload some pics. they're giant and i can't resize them so i'll just put up the link (eventually) in a new thread.
we busted ass to get to up front, though security really could not have cared less about what we were doing. 'our' guard actually moved to the side a bit so i could get better shots at the end. thanks, dude.
GDW - tonight (i believe) it went: you can't save me now, no babe you can't save me now, you can't see me now, but you should see me now
there was no shimmy-shake for 'feel i need a little sympathy' like the other shows i've seen this tour. SB high kick wasn't as high as in hershey, ps i have SB footage from that show that i have to post somewhere - PM me if you've got space to host or know where i can do that myself.
the stage was ridiculously high, inconveniently so... got handshakes and a great 'view' despite the fact. i was pleasantly surprised that they didn't beat us all back after Edge? vanessa came out for backing on R&R, wonder who she got the long, black velvet coat from? ;) we didn't see her performance, only caught the last two songs. after the piano intro to 'thousand trillion bajillion miles' she stopped and said 'yes, i'm that girl.'
couldn't agree more about the crowd, i would expect more style from vendors at a county fair. and the parking lot? on our way in we walked through a 'pond' to avoid the mud pits. granted, it rained all day... ford amp wasn't so bad from the good seats - only other time i was there, i was regrettably wasted on the lawn for jimmy buffett.
great show, glad to see her minus douchebag henley (i had to turn my face away when he touched her in hershey and she liked it - she's such a ho sometimes ;)). ps i kind of wept during HAEWAFY.

Oh, so glad you had a great time! Your review of Tampa sounds a lot like my experience at Bristow - high stage included.
Now I have to somehow get a tourbook, but I think my concert season is over since she's gone west. How the heck can I get one without paying some inflated rate on eBay??

Hey guys!
Me = exhausted
I just drove a 3 1/2 hour drive from Tampa to Miami....forgive me If I miss anything or mispell.
First off, if you have not seen Stevie this tour, and are planning on missing it...RUN to ticketmaster and buy yourself some tickets!!! I have NEVER seen Stevie this happy, radiant, excited, and energized....and I had gone to Vegas! From the moment she walked onto the stage, it was pure energy.
Unfortunately, there was no real good release....I eneded up with 11th row....but we (Songbird04 and I) were 3rd row by the time bootylicious came on and stayed there the entire night....well...most of the night....
First off I gotta say the energy of the show was INCREDIBLE. Stevie rocked the entire night! While she stayed away from most of the high notes...(ala Fall From Grace) she held out AND I MEAN HELD OUT whail after whail. It was incredible to hear them. Plus, she was ad-libbing like crazy! While you guys know the setlist, I'll go over some highlights...
GDW....The "baby...baby..." is back, but tonight she said, "can't save me now...can you see me now" AWESOME!
Sorcerer...OK...Stevie is getting some action. This was pure SEX ON CHIFFON. She was touching herself, then at one point making hand gestures as if she was buttering bread! (WTF STEVIE?!) Plus, I must say the skeleton painting in the background is quite disturbing. LMAO!!! Kim and I were laughing about it on the way home.
Dreams...HULA DANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :blob2: :blob1:
Landslide....well hearing stevie meow 4 times is one sight/sound I will NEVER forget! "We'll just call it the cat song instead of Landslide"...Oh stevie....
Stand Back....high kicks at the end and JUST BARELY misses crashing into Carlos Rios, and the look on her face was one of pure terror and amusement! Afterwards she made a twirling hand motion to him followed by a BAM! and laughed with him about it...it was quite funny. And yes....many twirls.
Rock and Roll.....OMG. No words to describe it!! PURE ENERGY! HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT!
I'll post more on the show tomorrow when I wake up at around 11 AM..Including me shaking Stevies hand during "Edge", or as Kim called it....Alex hogging up Stevie's attention
Hope you enjoyed the review so far!

Not that I have much to add to Alex's post, but I just thought I would check in. Loved the concert tonight. Stevie was running very late tonight. We did hear the sound check for IAF and HSML. Probably 40 min. later they started letting people into the venue. Then they started Stevie's sound check for Dreams and Stand Back. Vanessa's set was awesome. She has a beautiful voice. She was funny when she came out for Rock and Roll. She seemed almost uncomfortable in front of the audience and didn't know her part at all. She looked lost and Sharon and Jana just kinda smiled at her, with a don't worry about it look on their faces.
Stevie was great. Sounded beautiful and looked stunning. Up until GDW she was very animated. Lots of facial expressions, you could tell she was having a great time. GDW started and she was very serious, Alex seemed to think that the heat was getting to her. If it was the heat, I am amazed that she lasted that long b/c it was way to hot down front and we were just standing there (well I guess we did a little dancing, but nothing like what she was doing)!! I love Circle Dance. I think it is a great addition to the setlist. The Sorcerer picture needs to go. I think I am going to have nightmares about that tonight. The Cat Song pictures on the other hand must stay. I couldn't decide where to watch, the video screen or Stevie. In the end though, the video screen won. Awesome slideshow.
The tourbooks are great. They are smaller than the SYW tourbooks. The pictures in there are nice. They best part is the second to last page. It is a collage of pictures of the band and the crew. Some of the pictures were taken by Stevie...starting to wonder which wons. And there are also a couple of Stevie's character sketches in there in random places...they look like the drawing on the back of the pink hoddie. Super cute.
I'll try to write some more tomorrow, but right now I need to rest up for tomorrow night. I can't begin to describe how happy I am that it is an indoor venue!!

Thanks for the reviews guys! You have all posted the stuff I like to hear about. The "babe, you can't save me now" is so sad.....breaks my heart every time I hear she said it.
The skeleton picture. Yea. Uh, I tried to bring it up awhile back, I should have started a thread about it. Weirdest. Thing. Ever. I am having a friend take a photo of it tonight for me, (hey Suzanne!)....after she gets it we need to post and start a thread. It has some obvious meaningv to the song Sorcerer but damned if I can figure it out. It looks like it means a woman who carries alot of burden or old skeletons on her back....but that is just a guess. I would bet my life that Miss Nicks is not the artist either.
The thing is I want to figure out what the photo means in relation to the song Sorcerer. (uh, perhaps what Stevie did to get or keep her fame??) Anyhoo, until I have a picture of the screen, alot of you will not know what I am talking about. The photo is hard to describe cause it is so friggin spooky. It obviously means something to Stevie though.

Awesome reviews, guys. It was like being there all over again... And she got yet another great review here: http://news.tbo.com/news/MGBG9TZK4BE.html
TAMPA - Blond tresses glowing and lacy black wings flowing, Stevie Nicks twirled and cooed, rocked and reminisced to the loud appreciation of 7,500 fans at the Ford Amphitheatre on Wednesday night.
Her sandpapery alto mesmerized, and her multiple wardrobe changes - no less than five in two hours - aggrandized. At 57, Nicks seemed to have only inched away from the edge of 17.
The woman remains one of the ageless angels of gypsy rock.
``I dedicate this to you,'' she told the crowd, introducing ``Landslide'' and singing against a backdrop of images from her youth. ``I'm getting older, too,'' she sang.
Reaching back through the 1980s and into the '70s, she pulled out Fleetwood Mac standards including ``Dreams,'' a dreamy rendition of ``Rhiannon'' and a muscular ``Stand Back.''
She returned to the present with a bewitching ``Sorcerer'' and ``Fall from Grace'' from her 2001 album, ``Trouble in Shangri-La.''
At times dreamy and graceful, her hands floating in hula undulations or curving in flirtatious come-hither beckoning, Nicks was contemplative (``Circle Dance,'' a Bonnie Raitt cover) and powerful (``Edge of Seventeen'').
When all was almost over, Nicks thanked her fans, moving along the length of the stage and bending to clutch hands and accept gifts of roses, stuffed animals, even a crescent-moon sculpture, which got the giver a ``thank you.''
She returned for an encore performance, covering Led Zeppelin's ``Rock and Roll'' and her own ``Beauty and the Beast,'' against a multimedia backdrop of the old movie version.
Opening for Nicks' Gold Dust Tour was Vanessa Carlton (``A Thousand Miles''), an accomplished pianist with a girlish voice who offered an impressive mix of original music vaguely reminiscent of a young Janis Ian.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Happy to hear the tour books are out... I really hope she comes back my way so I can buy one. If she does, I promise to take orders from everyone!

SEX ON CHIFFON I like that description. At Bristow/DC though last Sunday, Stevie really was not playing that up during the song. She made a point to put her hands on her hips,etc...and acting a little sassy, but no rubbing of thighs etc... that was previously mentioned. I know this won't happen, but it would be so cool if there was an official concert DVD made of her at Red Rocks again. Talk about Full Circle.

The tourbook is nothing to write home about. There are hardly any pictures of Stevie anyway... There are more pictures of the backup singers then there are of Miss Stevie. And there is almost no writing. There is one paragraph at the begining and that is it. It only about 12 pages... It's not a great program, if I do say so myself. The cover of the tourbook is pretty cool though!
