OMG, you would be a SOTB for real! Maybe you can slip her your card at a future show. ;)

I would have to help her in an area she would most likely not need any help. Loan customer service. Fat chance that she would need to take one out.

And, I don't usually "counsel" patients about their medicine (no time!), but I'd make an exception for her.

And I would tell her management we only do hour-long interviews, plus all the set-up time. We'd have to make sure the lighting was perfect, afterall. Oh, and I'd have to have access to her for the entire time - you know, to make sure she was happy and comfortable, and ready to reveal ALL for the interview. ;)

I do have a friend who at one time made a dress Stevie bought... she never met Stevie, but the store told her SN had come in and bought it....
Seeing as Stevie was the main inspiration for me getting into clothing design, it would be karma to eventually design something for her.

If it were at my job, she'd be renting a storage unit. Hmmm, a new place to store old demos. Then when she didn't pay after 60 days, we'd auction her, and I'd invite all Ledgies to come paw thru the items left in the unit. IF ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

If it were my & hubbies business, she'd be accomodated to her hearts delight on a lovely tour of San Francisco or the finest Napa wineries in our Limousines. Something we would just die to do for her. Not so much cause we'd hope to be able to meet her, but my husband gives the best tours of the bay area hands down! Good gawd, I wouldn't want her for a client. If she phoned my work right now and specifically requested me, I'd say no. I can just imagine it: chiffon and afghans dripping from each candlelit corner of each room, red velvet walls adorned with her gawdy platinum albums, horrific honey-hued wooden floors, pink and grey doors everywhere you turn, lavish grand pianos that she can't play, etc. I'd vomit like a tween after their first swig of big daddy's scotch. I'd be booking her appointment (well, i'd probably speak to Karen because you know she does everything but wipe Stevie's ass i'm sure), then on the day of her service, if she was getting her hair done, i'd check her in, hand her a smock, escort her to a chair and ask her if she'd like coffee, tea, or a bagel and say to her so and so "will be right with you!" If she was having spa services, i'd show her to the elevator and check her out (take her payment, pervs) when she was finished. Good times. Glad I don't work at a black dress factory :o

Sure. I have a friend who Art Directed the ICW and TTM videos. She told me a nightmare story about the ice sculpture hear that blows up in TTM (was it TTM?). Alas, I try not to do videos anymore. The hours are hideous, the jobs are short, even if the pay can be good. Sparky don't really do interiors anymore. I have done some and didn't care for it. I must disagree here. That kind of over the top crap is tons of fun. Extremes are the way to go, in terms of creativity. That's why I like my job better. In a week I can do a crack house, a slick modern loft, and a goth nightclub. With a few bus stops and law offices tossed in. So, I would have no problem doing the look Homegirl would like. No thanks, you can have Stevie's job. I like it when people request extreme things (especially modern decor, I go ape**** with excitement when people want to do that kind of stuff), and have had people ask for the craziest **** (straw walls with a Pollock-like paint job being the most hideous), but I don't really enjoy creating things that look like sets for spaces people live in. Trading Spaces makes me violently ill. Those aren't designers, they're amateurs. No designer does all that hands-on work, no bloody way. I certainly don't unless I contract a job privately, otherwise it's left up to the contractors and "hired help." And the things they "design" are so slapdash that I laugh hysterically. Out of everyone on that show, only one is licensed and only one is a member of ASID. I did like a lot of Doug's early stuff, though, and I think he's hot as all get out.

I like Thom and think he could do even more amazing stuff if he had more time. Sometimes he's a little predictable with the metrosexual-chic rooms, but overall he's pretty great. I'd hire him.

That show was kind of fun when I watched it. Thom was okay. I felt like he always relied on a certain color pallete and that bugged me. And if I saw him do one more stripey paint job....blech. But I realize he is also constrained by what is in the place to begin with and the sponsor's merchandise. He's all right.

Metrosexual indeed. The real problem is almost every one of his rooms is going to be a burnt orange refrigerator in five years.

Brown, maroon, and minty green. That's about all I saw first season - which is all I watched of it. That and the painting different walls in the same room a different color. God help me. Maybe in a tiny dump in NY to make it look like there is a different space - maybe. Drove me bat**** anyway.

I know she does a shot of tequila every night before she goes on stage, or at least she has said that. She has never mentioned the Mary Jane; it would be interesting if someone were to ask her about that. C'mon DJ's and interviewers, ask Stevie if she tokes up every now and then!

I'd be selling her Avon and mark. I'd recommend the beComing line to her because it's more "high end" and all natural ingredients and more expensive (I can't picture her buying a jar of face cream on sale for $5). The newest Unflawed cream is awesome. There are only two other companies selling anything similar to it. It's very cool stuff. I know for me, it made me remember my hands really did look younger (I had forgotten!). It's nice to see my ol' 18 year old hands back again. It works nicely on the decolletage area too! ;) Goodbye sun damage.

She could also pick out things like rhinestone thong undies, candles and incense. Even a chakra candle set. And I think she'd look cute in the crystal flip-flop sandals from mark. right now with some jeans on. There's other lingerie. And jewelry, even real diamonds. Room and linen sprays in nice scents. And maybe a Hello Kitty watch, or Pink Panther? (hee-hee!)

And they were the first large company to stop doing animal testing, so that's a nice plus. I am sure she likes to catalog shop.

LOL! Really! Watch, now that I've said it she'll be my patient after she tours. It's actually a possibility because it's SUPER plush at this breast center here where I work in La Jolla. Lots of upper-class patients. You never know.

I had a patient tell me a few days ago (after seeing my Stevie desktop image) that she is friend's with Stevie's cousin who runs a MORTUARY in New York. Anyone know anything about that? Creepy..

Doug's a dick. Hate Hildie too. Gen & Laurie were my faves, but I hardly ever watch anymore. Thom's OK.

Did anyone see Queer Eye the other night with the hairball guy who murdered the lobster? ACK!

I would probably be giving Stevie any needed immunizations or irrigating the wax out of her ears. Or talking to her about STDs. Or teaching her how to do CPR.

Doug and Hildi were my favorites back when it first started. :p I haven't watched it in ages because it just got insanely stupid and none of it is realistic in terms of design. I hated Laurie, everything she did was the same French country/buttercream chic ****. Gen lost me after she randomly tacked faux gold leafing onto badly painted drywall and called it the centerpiece for the room.

Yeah, somehow I knew you'd hate Laurie & all her flowers & toile. :D But you're going to pick on Gen when Hildie glues hay and moss on walls?

:wavey: Hello fellow nurse!! I would be doing all those same things as well. I would be her nurse. But I would be sad if she came in with COPD or something and she couldn't breathe. It could happen though. Three packs of cigs a day plus smokin weed could eventually catch up with her.

I thought she quit?

I would be processing her mortgage payments. Not very exciting, unfortunately. :distress:

If Stevie were one of my clients I would be giving her riding lessons or training and showing one of her horses. I could totally do that. :D Stevie actually needs to buy me a fancy horse.

 I love that. Hmm. Stevie needs to buy me a lifetime concert ticket to her shows.

I tech edit computer books so I don't think I could do a thing for her in that regard. However, I take good pictures, she needs a good photographer. I haven't seen any good pro live shots for a while. Fans have taken the best photos IMO. I'd pretty much do whatever she asked me to. :D

And not just cause I'm partial neither!

Then I've definitely got to come out! Ahhh, Napa...

Hmmm...I've only heard Stevie ever mention one cousin: the male cousin who was with her when her Uncle died (either the uncle's name was John, or the cousin, or both--the cousin might have been John Jr. since Stevie's uncle was his father). Anyway, Stevie tells this story on Storytellers; it was part of the inspiration for "Edge of 17." So anyway, I wonder if Stevie's cousin in New York is the cousin from her Edge story?

I would be serving her chicken...lol. (Lee's Famous Recipe...not sure if that's just local or not...but if so, it's very similar to KFC)...

Well, since Stevie is neither in high school nor college anymore, my guess is that we wouldn't cross paths. :distress: But if she ever needed math tutoring for any reason at all, I'd do it for free! :)

Stevie and I wouldn't ever have crossed paths either--she would have to:
1) live in NJ, and 2) have preschool age children.

I thought she quit?

Well I don't know if she quit or not. I would say not completely just because she always did and she is still the hippie chick she always was. But I was referring to all the years she did for sure. I have seen several people who develop this disease and they quit smoking years before, but it still catches up with them eventually and unfortunately.
