I've been noticing this lately..but havent said anything.
But im very curious...

Why did Christine perform so few songs during the Tusk Tour?
Did she want to not be on the main spotlight
Which she had been because of pre-BN members leaving
and (during the white album tour) because more pre-bn songs needed to be performed..station man, spare me a little, etc in 1975/76.

It just seems like Lindsey and Stevie did a lot more during the set.
Anyone know why?
Did Christine just want to return to how things used to be?

She did pretty close to 1/3 of the set...as would be assumed.

Based on the 1979 St Louis show:

Christine: 5.5 (the .5 being "World Turning")
Stevie: 6
Lindsey: 8.5 (7 of his own, the .5 of "World Turning" and then "Oh Well", too)

So the set was fairly even, if you drop ONE Lindsey tune and add only ONE Christine tune.

It was around Tusk and Mirage that Stevie and Christine had burned there voices out too.

What I don't understand is why Chris only did two of her Tusk songs throughout the tour (& not even consistently throughout -- there were some shows where she didn't do any of her Tusk songs), whereas Stevie did three of her Tusk songs each night of the entire tour, & Lindsey did five Tusk tunes on & off throughout (I count three consistently throughout).

for some reason, Chris (or the band) slighted her Tusk material. It might have been kind of cool to throw a pared-down Chris number like Honey Hi into the acoustic portion, along with NGBA/SMAP & Landslide. Maybe the band considered that but figured too much acoustic would bore audiences.

 Probably so, they probably thought her previous rockin tunes were more audience friendly. Which may be true, but her TUSK material is so sublime, that it's a shame, IMO. did they do honey hi? I don't recall hearing it, but those harmonies at the end live would've knocked my socks off. And if they did do it, I must hear it.

Yeah, I always wondered why "Think About Me" wasn't performed at every show? Wasn't it only added near the end?? I can't remember. But you'd think they would have played it seeing how it hit #21 or something on the charts. I always thought that song was great, especially because you could hear all three of them singing (on the album version anyway).

Think About Me has always been one of my favorite FM songs. I have no idea why the band(or WHO in the band) didn't care for it. :(

And if they did do it, I must hear it.I don't think they did it in front of a paying audience (although I wouldn't say so for sure because that's what we used to think about "That's Enough for Me"), but they rehearsed it in 1979 before the tour started. Have you heard that?

It's prime-grade A+ Fleetwood Mac.

No, sadly. I bet it is. The harmonies on that song are stunning. *sigh* FM's lost Christine tusk tracks live performances.... :distress: :)

That's because it was the last single from Tusk to chart...it wasn't released until they were deep into the tour, as well.

They did "Over And Over" at the very beginning of the tour, then replaced it with "Don't Stop". It wasn't until the very end of the tour that they even did 2 of her songs in the same show("Over And Over" & "Think About Me"). And, they never did "Brown Eyes"(her best Tusk song, in my opinion) until the Mirage & Tango tours. I would recommend the Mobile, Al bootleg as well as the Tusk Rehearsal boots to hear more of her Tusk songs live.

I think that Over and Over played well live but I do not think the same for Think About Me. I think it was great on the album but it kinda got killed live. I enjoyed hearing Christines classics on that tour and that was enough for me. :)

I dug "Think About Me" live, but in 1980, as far as I was concerned, they could do no wrong.

They did "thats enough for me" in Rotterdam, Holland as well.

I saw them here in December of 1979 and don't recall Chris doing anything from Tusk although she may have done over and over  I was so monomanicially focused on Ms Nicks at that time and she did put on one hell of a show.Plus I was a somewhat stoned high school kid so my memory was probably not the greatest.Mostly I just recall SOTM and Angel.

Same set as the other shows that month in L.A. & San Diego. Chris did nothing from Tusk.

She did Say You Love Me, World Turning, Don't Stop, Songbird, You Make Loving Fun, & Oh Daddy.

Stevie did Angel, Sara & Sisters from Tusk -- exactly three songs. Lindsey did Save Me a Place, What Makes You Think You're the One, Not That Funny & Tusk from Tusk -- exactly four songs.

I still say Christine's nonemphasis on her Tusk material on tour was very weird. If Christine did any of her Tusk material in Europe the following spring, I have yet to hear about it. She didn't drag back Over & Over until the very final month in the U.S., & Think About Me was only pulled in at the same time because the band wanted to push the single at that point (which that too was weird because we know they rehearsed it back in September 1979).
