Janet

I just realized I was 19 and living at home.

I am 27 now. Some of us really "grew up" on the Ledge.

14 years old. It is good to have an outlet to talk about Fleetwood Mac because my friends certainly get bored quickly when I start talking about Stevie!

If I had a dollar for everytime someone said "Who's he?" when I started talking about Stevie Nicks, I would me filthy rich!

People our age just don't know the meaning of good music!

I was 14 years old, in pre-Dance 1997. I'll shortly be 23. I've spent almost a decade on this board. I've made lifelong friends here, I've burned the place down, I started a four year relationship with someone I met through this board, I've made enemies- but most of all, I've learned not to care. I wish people did not take this stuff so seriously. It'll cause nothing but trouble.

All the old grudges and spats and bitch fights- it's all so stupid. I mean, weren't we supposed to hate each other at one point from various stuff? I don't even remember the whos or whys or hows of any of that stuff. It just really doesn't matter.

I was 20 when I joined. I still remember the first time I heard about the Ledge - it was at the AHI in what was is Aug/Sept of that year - I came across a Lindsey-crazed girl and her mother outside of the America West Arena and they asked me if I was a "Ledgie" I had NO CLUE what they were talking about lol....

Then I met a Ledgie (no longer posts) from my hometown - crazy....It's been a loooong time rouwf!

I've been reading the board for two-and-a-half years now, and intend to keep it up because the place is still a lot of fun. I think I was 22 when I first started my long lurker period (before starting to post), and I was directed to this place through the first FM board I ever read in cyberspace, the BN net board. Oh, the memories. ;)

I've been through four computers since I first posted here. It's certainly been a pretty good run. I've seen people come & go, talking of Michelangelo. Others may have been a pair of ragged claws, scuttling across the floors of silent seas.

The Ledge is aptly named, because we're all standing on this ledge, peering over the precipice, into the abyss of god-knows-what-all. A few of us jump, most of us don't. But the lure of the unknown is still there, whispering in our ears . . . .

about the Ledge is that you can introduce yourself first unlike another website I am a member of...The members of that other website will rip your head/ass off if you post a "Hi...I'm new" thread, Absolutely a way to get hated immediately.

But then I realized, I wanna be addicted to The Ledge! :] I have been on the Enchanted e-mail list for 10 years, since I was 24. I came over here when the whole Mick's chat board thing got crazy and I wanted to chat with fans about those bastards.

I first registered in 1997, just before The Dance was released. I was about 16 (23 now). But then the old Ledge went away, and I was going through too much crazy **** to re-register on the new Ledge until a couple years ago. And then it took me 6 months of lurking before I started posting again... :o I'm not even sure if any of the people I talked to back then are still around.

LOL! I didn't try to pretend. But I will say, back in 1997, everyone was SO nice to start. YOu always got that one weirdo who would try to mix things up but we all had each other's backs.

Remember every night there was a Dance Concert we'd wait for the review and try to see how many times like Lindsey would touch Stevie and stuff like that ( or maybe that was just me...?)

And Lauren was the queen bee. She got me to write a letter to Lindsey of the 100 reasons why we love him or something..LOL

and the dirty stories...LOL

We probably fought a little, but not that much. How can two ladies united in their love of Lindsey fight?

I so remember that 100 reasons list. I wonder if anyone has it saved. That was great. And HAMMOCK!!!!!!!!!! was Calamity's, although I was a huge devotee of the HAMMOCK. I recall being the #1 psychotic hippie Lindsey fan. Mmm. Hippie picture posts. Those were the days. Remember when we started doing Keepers? Everyone was the Keeper of something? I believe I was the Keeper of Lindsey's Fro and the Keeper of Stevie's Silver Cocaine Spoon.

I was 26. I think I joined to ask about AHI or something - it was for some kind of information. I wish I could go back and see how I introduced myself but it doesn't let you go back that far. This was my introduction to FM fandom and I've never looked back since.

I visited the old Ledge once around 1998 or 1999, but there was some problem registering and I didn't really get the old structure. I remember seeing some of the "Keeper" stuff and not understanding it. lol Glad I came back!

I was on the old Ledge back when it started, and was probably 23 or so. However, I started coming here on a regular basis back in Jan. 2004, at the age of 29, after the FM newsgroup all but died.

BTW, how could anybody have been here 10 years when the Ledge has only been around since about 1997/1998? Timelines people, timelines. Actually, ten years ago, there were only two Mac websites (Cyberpenguin, now just known as the Penguin, and the Chain Gang, now the discography section of the Penguin), two Stevie websites, and one Lindsey website. The only place to talk about Fleetwood Mac was on alt.music.fleetwood-mac, and I started posting there in Oct. 1995. In fact, there are a few folks here who were there back then. The thing I love about the Ledge is that there really aren't any weirdos (JPN, Bill Gamelson, Stan, and, of course, the Nazis).

Oh I have it all wrapped up in it's envelope. I actually took it with me to the Dance AC show ( the one no one video taped...eek...) anyway, I didn't get it to him obviously.

I met so many great people. Back then, I had a little Ledgie group and we were so tight, that for my birthday and Christmas of 1998, I got so many cards and gifts, it was really amazing. I'll never forget that and I still have them all.
