Uh... no contest.
Papa says...there are clothes to wash
Sister says...brush your hair
You'll go down...to the laundromat
Maybe your sister is there
Good. Gawd.

Sometimes Its a Bitch & Love's a Hard Game to Play :p
The whole "Well I've run through rainbows and castles of candy..." Thing, and "They say it's better to have lost at love, Than never to have loved at all..." Ugh! Where's the bucket! :distress:
although I don't mind the music video for SIB....

I love that Hard Game To Play song. Stevie's vocal is so passionate and full of intensity, considering the time period of the song. Definitely a favorite performance of mine.
My least favorite song that Stevie didn't write....is most assuredly Cry Wolf. I just cringe when I hear it. :( Ugh, it's so awful, I cannot possibly think of anything I find worse.

Didn't she sing it live once with Jane Goodall in the audience, before the album came out? The boot never surfaced (I think it was a benefit), but my sense of morbid curiosity hopes that it does some day soon.
Why she didn't do Love Is Like A River live is a mystery to me...

That would be the obvious choice.. but alas, it wouldn't be a Stevie Nicks solo concert if she didnt pick the absolute least stage-friendly songs off the new album to do live ("Docklands" - SA tour, "Bombay Sapphires" - TISL tour, "Two Kinds Of Love" - TOSOTM tour)

I definitely think her vocals are incredible for both songs, that's why I can listen to them every now & then  The thing that drives me up a wall are those sucky-ass lyrics (good god!),they just don't sound like anything Stevie would write about, at least not in those phrases  Cry Wolf is pretty damn bad too....

Maybe these were her personal favorites? All of them are odd songs to pick, but I really liked Bombay Sapphires, and would like to hear it at another show.

And Planets of the Universe. Gawd, I was amazed at how lifeless it was. It's weird, too, because on some boots, the band kicks it out, but on others, they're playing as if they're all having one big collective stroke.

her vocals were lifeless on that entire tour... Planets was my favorite song on that album and she just could not do it justice on the road... maybe if Lindsey was on stage with her to stare at, it would have been better?

INSPIRATION!!! How much more awful can it get? Horrible vocal, horrible music, the worst lyrics ever written, and that guitar screeeeeech! And I'm being Christian about it! Never listen to this song with sharp instruments around.
7W, another song where the vocal just kills it. This is the song you sing as you are falling to your death from the top of the Sears tower. Just scream your way through it. It will still hurt in the end. On the way down, you might have time to scream through a chorus of SIAB...
Everyday is ok, but needs to be in a higher key. The vocal kills it for me. She just growls and rumbles her way through it. Same with LAHDTP.

"God's Garden." It's not so much the song itself as much as it is the Klonopin-haze delivery.

The song and her delivery are the pits. She sings so deeply that you wonder if she has her own pair of low-hangers.

I like it. I just don't think the music goes with the lyrics. The song is too serious for that type of music.

Ooh I forgot about that one and I can't stand it. She should not have included that on such a beautiful album. Doesn't fit in and I have to say I agree that thy lyrics do not go with the music. It's one of the most mismatched songs in her catalouge. That song is wrong on so many levels! I wonder how Johnny felt about it?

I agree, they don't go together. I think it was Christy who said that it was carny music and I think she hit it on the head. It's not bad, but it's not great, either. The best versions are from Johnny Cash and Emmylou Harris, imo. Linda Ronstadt does a good one, too, but I think the other two do the best ones.
