I have a mac so I use Symantec Norton Disc Doctor...it may be available in PC version too, I dont know...

I'd suggest going to a site like ZDnet to get free software recovery utilities...Go here (http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/2001-20-0.html?legacy=cnet)
just switch the platform to pc and enter your search term
