The creek near my house is about to overflow due to swelling from the rain from the Tropical Storm that hit AL earlier today. A fire truck and several other ES vehicles are going up and down the streets and annoucing over the loudspeakers that we should "prepare to evacuate"

I am getting ready to make one bite the other's tail and vice versa - put them as such around my neck and then check into the Ritz Carlton  Seriously, I may go there, but the trucks are still here, but are no longer blasting out the "prepare to evacuate" warning and sirens are no longer goin off. Well I hope you guys are ok and don't get flooded out. My best friend lives down in Dublin Ga. midway between ATL and Savanah with a creek running through his back yard .I'll have to give him a call to see how he is doing.

Definitely leave if they tell you to do it! We had flooding here back in the spring, and someone died because he wouldn't leave his house. He was swept away along with his house. :distress: We have flood warnings here tonight as well. Believe me if they tell me to go, I'm gone.

That's right, because Jason wasn't just any Miss Georgia...he was THE Miss Georgia
Somewhere in that walk-in closet of his is a green tafetta dress and ribbons for that pile of dark hair.

Well, that was utter HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They were evacuating people by BOAT about less than a mile from my house. So, I loaded the poops in the car and drove away around midnight. We were headed to the hotel, but by the time we got there, the National Weather Emergency Service (the ones with the obnoxious beep) came on and said the creek had crested and was expected to recede. Seeing as how the water was nowhere near the house when I left, I went to the 24 Kroger, bought ice cream an returned home - and with no electricity, I had to eat it all right then and there
I drove through the recently flooded section this morning and the water appeared indeed to have gone into the homes and a bridge on a major street (Northside Dr.) apparantly was in danger of damage from the high and moving water. YIPES!!!!!!!!!!!!
And - another one is coming next week - oh what joy - thank goodness I and the sheeps will be out of town
Thanks to all the well wishers!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you're OK Jas. :)
My dad had to be evacuated from his beach-side home during Hurricane Gloria, and when they were finally allowed back, the house was full of water and sand. Even on the third floor. I'm glad you didn't have to go thru this!
