Hi I was at 5 Stevie shows on this tour ,the one thing that drive me nuts is these drunkin' bozos hollering, booing ,pushing and shoving.throughing things. At the AC show one guy kept whining at me , that I was bumping in to him , which I was not close to him at all.Stevie probably get upset about the booing.People can't control their drinking anymore. this ruins it for everyone. my idea is ban booze at the shows. if you are drunk or high you not coming into the show..
I've been through this 20 years ago.I can have alots of fun At Stevie's Concerts without getting sh#$faced at the shows.

I saw the drunkest people at Pittsburgh. There was this woman behind me who looked like she crawled out of the hills somewhere before the show. Her voice sounded like she drank a fifth of Jack Daniels and smoked a carton of Camel Unfiltereds for good measure. She was one of those people who screamed at people for standing/dancing (mind you this was like the 6th row) and then who yelled all through B&B "I love you Stevie". There was a guy close to her who literally almost came to blows with guy sitting next to me for standing/dancing. Quite a mess.

I know the best thing about the 9-13-03 Knoxville show was that at the arena there is no alcohol sold---because it was on a college campus..The crowd was WAY better, much more friendly

This drunk lady at the Las Vegas show kept on wanting to stand with me because "I looked like I was having fun" but she was so annoying so I just started to ignore her. She finally left (after spilling champagne all over the place that is!) She was like 40 years old and was flirting with me (did she know I was only 16?) and kept giving me champagne. A security guard was right next to me so I was thinking "I'll be damned if I'm going to get kicked out of here for underaged drinking after travelling 3,000 miles to see Stevie!" Fortunately the lady finally left but ruined Standback and Landslide for me!

Ya I just remembered at Jones Beach The croud was mellow. and I remembering reading on one of these boards the same thing. I had no problem there, In Mansfield MA there were three 20 year old girls next to me dancing and falling one fell on me.At the Mohecan Sun Arena in Uncasville CT there were four young ladies in the row in front of me and my mom. hollering. singing. falling. Hahaha my mom said they must of had 6 to 8 beers each .huh my moms first Stevie Concert. At the PNC Bank art center in Holmdel NJ I had no problem there as I remember.I hope they had a ball. and a lousey hangover. I don't miss it anymore.

I was on the front orchestra row outside the pit at Stevie's 2001 Atlanta show. There were drunk yuppies hamming it up behind me with their picnic basket and their wine glasses they brought. *ugh*

And when I saw the Mac in may 2004 in Jacksonville, some drunk whore ruined the photo Lindsey signed by bumping into me. *double ugh*

I just get annoyed at the drunks who then have to keep going back and forth DURING the show - to get more booze and/or to go to the bathroom - it's really distracting and rude - I also think booze should be banned at concerts!!!

It is annoying. I liked the approach Metallica used on their last US arena tour, All alcoholic sales were to cease at 8:00PM when the band took the stage since it was a part of their contract rider with the promoters/venues.

Oh that's awesome - I'd go for something like that.

At the Macca show I saw in NYC - there were vendor guys walking aroudn shouting, "BEER!" ugh - nothing takes the magic out of a show more than a guy witha tray of beer try to reach around you....

I dont like when people get out of hand at concerts either but I couldnt imagine going to a show and not drinking. I dont get wasted but I do like to have a couple beers and I dont think it would be fair to not sell alcohol during concerts.
I agree that most of the rowdy people are in Pittsburgh because we surely do like to drink here. I think they just need some sort of standard in place where if you look wasted then you should be shut off. I often wonder how those crazy drunks get home from the show.

It's extremely annoying. We always end up with some nutjob screaming his/her lungs out during the slower songs where extra noise isn't necessary. When we were in Cleveland, these girls showed up just for Vanessa's opener (thank goodness), and hooted and hollered the entire time. The man two seats away from me was getting his eardrums blown out of his head.

Not to mention the fact that the overwhelming stink of liquor is disgusting. Sure, the security won't let me bring in my Lipton Green Tea, but all of these morons are allowed to get trashed. The thing is, I once almost passed out in the mall due to low blood pressure and my doctor advised me to bring something to drink with me to prevent that from happening again, so I pretended to throw my tea away and then smuggled it back into my bag when the security guy wasn't looking.

But yeah, the drunks are a major PIA. Stay home or go to bars if that's all you want to do.

The most annyoing drunks at a FM show I've been around was in Reno during the SYW tour. You know, the infamous show where Lindsey had to finish Goodbye Baby since La Nicks was so upset.

It's great Vanessa had fans there, but screaming within such close proximity is annoying. The people next to me were more upset than I was, but I wasn't too far behind.

I guess when Stevie comes out and everyone's yelling, it sort of all blends in to one big noise, but when people are whistling and shouting during a ballad or a quieter moment in the concert, that just bugs me.

I'm not the best person to go by because loud noises irritate the heck out of me, but for Stevie, I'll do anything! (And mind you I am sitting here listening to the neighborhood yahoos setting off illegal firecrackers and grinding my teeth, lol, so that gives you some idea... :p )

That sounds like me. Although I don't exactly hit the sauce I do go crazy at these shows. I stand for the whole thing, sing, dance, etc. because I want to enjoy myself. I hope people don't think I am a nutjob but I love Stevie and I can't help it!

I think I messed up what I was trying to say. During quieter songs, like some of Vanessa's, I wanted to listen to her piano playing, not to someone behind me bellowing. It just ruined the experience because it was difficult to concentrate with the noise.

When Stevie gets rocking and rolling, I scream along with everyone else, because that's the time to do it! Everyone's shouts sort of blend into one anyway, and it's fun. However, when Stevie is doing a ballad and someone is yelling "No, Stevie, you're the beauty, not the beast!" over and over again, well, that just ruins it.

So yeah, I like quiet concerts for ballads and slower songs, but noise is fine when Stevie is rocking out. Hope I didn't offend anyone. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a180/guy_smiley705/Favorites/duck2.gif

PS...you could classify me as a nutjob when she's singing the LZ cover or something. I went wild!

Funny..I saw you..I was literally right beside you.. Did you happen to see the man who gave flowers to Stevie and he said "Thank You for Sara" and she said thank you back, and he cried...well no that wasnt me but that man was right next me, to my right...You were to my left I believe.. I had a Fleetwood Mac cap on and a Stevie Nicks Chain t shirt (shirts us in the stevie nicks chain group had made)...weird, you never know who you are beside lol

Call me a party pooper or whatever but I'm one who would prefer no drinking at concerts. I'm not a prude and I do enjoy a drink however, when I pay the amount of money I have at concerts, I want to enjoy the concert and not have to deal with people going back and forth to get drinks and then have to pee. Of course, then when they get their drinks they can't help but spill it all over you. The concert is a couple of hours long....drink before or after - I don't care. But, let me enjoy the concert!!!!!! I don't understand the people who go to see a concert and can't sit long enough to enjoy it!!!!!

I couldnt agree with you more. I NEVER drink at any Stevie/Mac show I go to, dont dringk much anyway, but I know what youre talking about. A couple times when I was in the front row, people FREAKED OUT on me cause they said I was at "Their" spot at the front of the stage. I mean, I don't give a sh##, you want the spot, I'll move over a few feet, it dont rock my world. You know, hearing all this reminds me of the show in Scranton last year. I met this girl Ashley there, I think some of you might know who she is, she can't use her arms, and EVERYONE at that show made ure she had a good time. During GYOW, I gave up my spot at the front of the stage so she could get on this guys shoulders and then I held her arms so she could touch Lindsey's guitar during the solo. Now that to me is the human spirit at its best :)

I hope you don't think I'm some kind of party-pooper or human spirit killer because of my opinion of the people who scream during a quiet part of a concert. Noise on top of noise (like everyone shouting during "Stand Back") is perfectly OK for a concert, but taking advantage of a slow interlude in the show to yell out your feelings for Stevie is not. Several people I've sat next to feel the same way.

It has to do with the moment. If you see Metallica, of course you're going to shout. If you go to the Philharmonic, I don't think people will appreciate an individual screaming the conductor's name in the middle of Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.

JMHO.

ITA!! I've mentioned this before - if anyone near me screams, "I LOVE YOU STEVIE!" during BATB, or whatever, I just look at them and smile and say, "She knows." That works MUCH better than "Shut the f*ck up, you idiot!"

My other pet peeve is whistlers. I always manage to get right in front of someone who adores to whistle that high-pitched, eardrum exploding whistle directly into my ear. I don't mind if they cup their hands around their mouth to divert it upward and outward, like when you squirt a lemon into your drink! It's just good manners!

But, we are NOT nice, we are rock and rollers!!! :D

No drinking alcohol at concerts works for me... even better LEAVE THE TAMBOURINE AT HOME!!!!!
That has to be the most annoying thing to have someone who considers themselves a huge fan, but doesn't respect the band and Stevie enough to leave the music to the musicians. I don't pay tons of money to listen to an audience member play (usually badly)....

I totally agree about screaming during ballads like Say Goodbye and Beauty and the Beast. Who wants to hear someone scream "You're the beauty baby!" through the entire song? Not me!

During FFG, Rhiannon, etc. by alll means dance, jump up and down, whistle, shout, sing along, but during the one or two emotionally charged ballads, shut the hell up with the "I love you Stevie" stuff.

I know I annoy people though. During Beautiful Child last year some woman kept wanting me to sit down! Hello! I was in the fifth row! If you are in the fifth row you shouldn't have to sit down. I could understand if I was in the nosebleeds section with all the casual fans and I was the only one standing though...

Edgeof27

Totally agree....

No Booze at the shows....please...........

Unfortunately, that's where the venues make their profits....

Casino Rama, (5,000 seats), Orillia, Ontario Canada, No Booze allowed in the room,

The sound is pretty good when you are at the front, Security is pretty anal about cameras.

Borgata, (1,800 seats), Atlantic City, Booze is allowed in the room,

The Sound is phenomenal at the front,

on the left side the superb guitars of Waddy, &, Al, really shine through, (excellent),

on the right side, Carlos, Ricky, Sharon, Jana, & Lori, all blend beautifully, (awesome),

again, at the front, drunks do not seem to be a problem,

I did read a review that a lady in the audience was taunted by some drunken individuals because she was at the show on her own, (not nice people).

Security is really tight, they use NJ State Troopers at the front, (nice guys really), no cameras etc, unfortunately if you are not in the first two rows, you are not getting up to the stage for the "Edge-walk".

Soundboard, Detroit, Motor City Casino, (1,500 seats), well this is a mixed bag,

great venue, unfortunately there are four, (4) bars inside the room, (ie, 375 people per bar), no problem if you want to imbibe to excess,

Security, (25 October 2008), was extremely lax, a young lady, with the assistance of her best friend, was able to thwart the SWAT team that night, and in an instant became the highlight of the night, by being able to accend to the stage, hug Stevie, kiss Stevie, &, tell Stevie that she loved her, (all of which I wanted to do, kudos Chris).

After the Stage Jumper incident, Security got serious, and they were watching all the Alpha Males, how predictable.

All in all, Detroit was the best of all the venues, due to the Sound, and, the intamacy of the room, "almost like being in a bar", quote from Jimmy Paxson.

So, once again, you can't please all the people all of the time.

We should all try be on our best behaviour when in the presence of others, but..............

People can't control their drinking anymore.

God, if that isn't the truth. I also can't stand cocertgoers who get sauced....it does ruin the experience for everyone around them. I will NEVER forget when this DRUNKA$$ B!TCH PEED all over the floor when my friend Kim and I attended one of FM's SYW shows up in Los Angeles. The stupid woman was blitzed beyond belief and because she was right up against the stage, she didn't want to lose her spot if she left to go to the restroom. Consequently, the floor at the Staples Center turned into a restroom. Let me tell you, I'm a pretty passive person, but if that woman would have been with reach of me and I happened to step in her urine, I would have clocked her...it was just sick. I think that disgusting experience truly convinced me that there are some real low-lifes that couldn't care less about affecting anyone else's concert experience.... I hope someone takes a leak on her some day. I felt SO bad for the people right next to her.....

I was at every Pittsburgh show for the last 15 years... sure we are a rowdy bunch... but it is because we love Stevie... and LOVE when she comes to the Burgh!! If you can't handle it then stay home and enjoy the fine recorded material that is available at Walmart from Ms. Nicks!!! Rock and Roll concerts get a little bit wild... if you can't handle it... then stay home!! Sorry to be a little blunt with my opinion... but y'all sound like a bunch of old fuddy duddies... get over it... really!!!

 I have a strong feeling I'm in the minority since I really don't drink...I could give a S*** about it...I honestly don't understand people who have to drink to enjoy a concert. This, for some reason, and if you've experienced it, back me up (LOL) happens in all seating scetions, but is most predominant in the really really good seats that we all pay through the nose for!!!! WTF?!?!?

I swear, no matter the concert, I always get the people next to me or in my row, who get up every 15 minutes to get another beer or to pee because of all their beers....if you all out there are these people...you're such an annoying moron!! You've often spilled beer/wine on my friends and I since you either can't walk straight or cause you're in a hurry to get another! Stepping on our feet is also something that makes us want to trip you!!

You're wasting my time, your health, your money and most importantly, having to be sure you're okay to drive home amongst the rest of us!!

Stay in your seat!!

Anyone wanna second this? =)

I do. I hate people who detract from the concert experience for others. I'm there to see and hear the performer live. They seem to be there to go to a fraternity party and the performance is just secondary. I think they should stay home, turn on the record player, get a keg and knock themselves out.

I agree I have seen a few people drunk at the shows they should do a dui check at the entrance when they check you thru security at the same time cause it does ruin it for anyone around them and if they are up front I am sure it makes Ms. Nicks pissed it would me I find it rude I can have a great time with out getting loaded I have never drank at a show also i hate when people get up to get food you can eat any time you want why should you eat a show and get drunk they you have to move out of the way every 5 to 10 minutes for people to go get more food or more beer or have to go the rest room so they waist there time doing this instead of listening and watching the show it is ridiculous to I go I dont eat or drink at the shows i am focused on the show pretty much all the time even if i get interrupted i am kind but do get a little pissed that i have to move every 5 or 10 minutes for people all the time its like stand up and dance and listen and watch the show. :blob2::wavey:

I'm not much of a drinker either. I don't drink anything at the concert or during it. I might have 1 or 2 drinks (small) before I enter the venue...but inside there way too expensive to buy & besides if I paid alot of money for my ticket I'd rather 'hear' the concert & see it instead of spending all my time in the bathroom lines etc. To each his or her own.....I guess if thats your thing thats fine.....but you miss out on much of the concert (if its Stevie or any other musical act....).....I'd rather remember what I came there for than not recall anything. So really....its not my thing. I don't really like what drinking does to me. I have to remember things & well if your out of it....your not gonna recall much....but to each his/her own...... No offence....If I'm boring thats ok too.....

Not only will I second this but I will third and fourth it!!!! I'm there to see a concert AND enjoy it. I can get drunk anytime but I choose not to at a concert because I would rather have memories of the concert itself than of puking or embarrassing myself or "stepping on someone else's toes"! Geesh! I see it as a very immature act. If you have to get drunk to enjoy a concert then you are not there as a true fan!!!! It's an insult to the performer ~ especially when it becomes disruptive. Yep, I said it! Get over it!!!!

I will also second. third ect. yes yes and yes. I agree with you completely

I think it depends on the show and what song is being performed at the moment, like others have said. There's a time and a place for everything. Dancing and yelling during "Go Your Own Way"? Good! Professing your love for Stevie's great hair loud enough to put a banshee to shame during "Landslide"? NO.

This past April, alllllll I wanted was to hear Stevie do BtaB live because I hadn't gotten a chance to hear her do that live yet, and I just adore the song. I had second row center seats for the Reading, PA show, and she did BtaB, and it was BEAUTIFUL...except for the drunken idiots next to me.

I had two chicks nearly get into a fistfight over god-knows-what while some guy that looked like he'd just lumbered down the mountain in his best coonskin cap continuously bellowed things like, "STEVIE IS PRETTY! CAIN'T BELIEVE SHE'S SO OLD! I'D STILL DO HER! I LOVE YOU, STEVIE! YOU'RE HOT! EVEN IF YOU'RE OLD!"

Add that to the shoving matches people got into the whole night over who deserved to stand where and why, the angry couple on the other side of me that did not clap or even crack a smile the whole time but immediately threw a fit at a security guard because a woman on the other side of THEM had her small daughter at the show and hopped up to the front so the little girl could be near Stevie for the Edge Walk, and the crazy hosebeast next to me during said Edge Walk that actually tried to YANK STEVIE DOWN off the stage to "give her a kiss" and... just color me appalled, people.

It's one thing to enjoy the show and dance around and sing and yell and all that - that's called having a good time and that's what concerts are for - but this kind of behavior is ridiculous.

And before anyone calls me a "fuddy duddy" - I'm a metalhead and I've acquired more than my fair share of bodily injuries in the mosh pits of the world. I haven't got anything against drinking at shows, either - if you go over to the thread where folk have posted pictures of themselves on the Chit Chat board, you'll find one of me & Kenny from Type O Negative where I am perhaps half a sheet away from three sheets to the wind at a Gwar show (I ended up about 5 sheets to the wind by the time the after party on the tour bus rolled around, but that's a tale for another day).

But, in my opinion, that stuff isn't appropriate everywhere. A girl once vomited all over my boots at a Tori Amos show and that was extremely annoying, but if someone vomited all over me at a Gwar show, I likely wouldn't notice because I'd already be covered in all that lovely goo the Gwar lads spew off the stage.

When I wade into the pit at a grindcore show, I expect to get knocked around because that's what the pits are for - but I recently emerged from a Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds show with bruised kidneys and ribs because some drunk asshole plowed me into the security railing in an effort to take my spot in the front row.

And all of that stuff is even less appropriate at a Mac or Stevie concert - if you love them like we all do, show them (and your fellow fans) a little respect during those quieter moments and actually LISTEN to what they have to say to us.

Guys like that love BATB. When Stevie says, "Who's the Beast?" They love to say, "I'M your beast, Stevie. I'm the beast!" I think they wait the whole concert just to throw that in at the end.

I suppose, but I just wanted to hear her sing, dammit! I have such small dreams.

But it's like, yeah right, just what Stevie wants to hear, you mouthbreather - she'll go home to her hotel tonight and be all, "Well, I would never have known I've still got it if it weren't for that charming, toothless rake in the second row next to that scowly girl letting me know he'd still do me even though I'm old. Whew!"

LMAO! I love the version of BATB that someone posted on youtube from a few years ago. It was really one of the best I've seen, and I always wish like hell there was a way to edit out the doofus that was yelling "SING TO ME STEVIE". And you know they wait for a quiet moment on purpose so that they can be sure Stevie (and the rest of the venue) will get their message.

I'm with the folks who wish alcohol wasn't sold at concerts. If someone "needs" booze or "can't imagine not drinking" at a concert, I'd suggest there is an alcohol addiction problem at work. When I go to a show, the music is what intoxicates me!

I like a drink every now and then myself. But I don't get people who get so drunk at a concert that they won't remember it later. I also think I lost part of my hearing from having two drunks bellow in my ear at the last Stevie concert I went to.

I went to the Camden show in '07 and had 3rd row seats. Up for the Edgewalk, I was trying to get to the spot at the stage right in front of me, and 3 teenage girls come barging right over to me - shove me out of the way - and when I told them no need to shove, plenty of room for all of us, just want to say Hi to Stevie and tell her my friend in the wheelchair was there to see her - they yelled in my face and told me to go f*&^ myself, they had 10th row seats and I said, big damn deal, I've got 3rd row - they proceeded to knock me on my a$$. I had HUGE bruises on my backside for 2 weeks, it hurt to even sit on my bed that evening! Lucky for me, security saw it and came and moved the little beaotches far away!

Yeah, that's just what Stevie needs to see - girls knocking a girl on her a$$ that evening!
