When was the last time she said this before Rhiannon? I think it would be reallly cool if she said this on tour today. I think Rhiannon is sort of rocking lately.

It was probably last done on the Tusk tour. I think by that time everyone pretty much knew that, so she stopped saying it.

True!

Whenever I hear that song though, I always say outloud "This is the story about a Welsh Witch" I can't help it! I would really get a thrill out of hearing her say it live in concert.

You've heard that Baton Rouge '78 show, right? Doesn't she say something like "This is a song about a lady from Wales"?

Also, do you remember a Billboard concert review of Mac at UCSB 1978 which talks about her being in a purple cape for "Rhiannon"?

Well it would have to be the Tusk tour because she says it on the Live album from that tour.

Well it would have to be the Tusk tour because she says it on the Live album from that tour."Rhiannon" on that album is from an April 1977 show at the Rainbow Theatre in London.

Other 1977 performances on that album are "Monday Morning," "Say You Love Me," "Over My Head," "Don't Stop" & "Dreams," & "Don't Let Me Down Again" is probably from 1975.

So the album is about equally split between Tusk Tour & Rumours Tour.

That version is from the Rumours Tour, I think.

Wow, I never knew that. That is so weird.... Isn't the album called "Live 1980"? Or is that just what everyone refers to it as?

That Rhiannon is one of my favorites I have to say...

Stevie dedicated "Rhiannon" at UCSB (10-02-77) to "all the witches of the world," according to Paul Grein in Billboard. I think that was also the show where she got weird & hysterical during "Landslide," crying & laughing.

I can't remember what show it was...but it was early, '75 or '76 and she says "this is a song about a Welch witch."

A welch witch? What's that, the Witch of grapes?

She said it it many shows throughout the Rumours tour, and possibly through some of the Tusk. (She doesn't say it on the St. Louis '79 boot I have)

And Wales is a part of the United Kingdom. :P

Not sure if you were replying to me or not...but my point was that it's a "Welsh" witch, which is what she says 9 times out of 10. However, I've heard an early boot where she says a "Welch" witch...therefore, I said the "witch of grapes" in reference to Welch's Grape Juice. :)
