I've been noticing lately how many food items and beverages look somewhat or extremely sickening to me at this point, yet I used to love them. It seems that something either has too much sugar or is just too greasy. Has anyone else been through this?

I used to love-
fruit roll-ups
fruit by the foot
fruit gushers
pixie sticks
mondos
squeeze-its
kool aid kool bursts
skittles
capri sun
Hi-C

but I pretty much can't eat any of those any longer because they're just too sugary. I guess most of them are for kids, anyway.

I also don't like the thought of ordering pizza anymore. I used to get all excited about it but when I think about the grease on the box I just feel sick. Not worth the feeling of the roof of my mouth having caked on grease. http://img124.echo.cx/img124/8881/yucksmiley7op.gif

Fudge filled with chocolate. One day I ate so much I nearly vomited, so there you go.

Hmm. Well, I don't eat any deep fried food anymore - but I guess that's more for health reasons. Fries, chips, doughnuts, etc. I don't think there'd ever actually be a day when I didn't LOVE doughnuts. I just don't eat them anymore.

But I'm with you on the fruit roll ups thing. What were we thinking?? Too sugary, too sticky on the teeth. Ew.

Um.... I don't think I can come up with anything else. Any foods I hate now, I've basically hated forever.

Peanut butter sammiches. I used to eat sometimes 2 or 3 a DAY folks! I kept eating them until I was in my early 20's. I made one, one day, and took a bite, and spit it out....never have had another one.

I am THE pickiest eater on the planet. Ask anyone that knows me.

I am THE pickiest eater on the planet. Ask anyone that knows me. I know that's another thread, but I bet I have you beat. My parents couldn't get me to eat anything when I was a baby, and the habit just continued. I don't like enough vegetables and I really hate lettuce. I don't like to eat meat either, especially red meat. Yuck! If only all bread products were good for us.

- JakeI used to love that, too! I had some a few weeks ago and I was like Am I drinking sugar???
I feel the same way about chocolate milk to a degree, too. A lot of things like that I used to want constantly but they've become either disgusting or something reserved for a special treat.

When I was little, Little Huggie drinks (colored sugar water in plastic barrel-shaped containers) Barf.

Also salami/cheese/mayo/mustard sandwiches. That was my thing until I was around 12. My brother was the bologna kid, I liked salami. Not so much a fan anymore.

Bacon Double Cheeseburger w/ fries from Burger King - I swear I ate one every day for lunch in junior & senior year of high school (I had lunch right before I drove to my nursing classes, so we always went out.) The thought of that makes me want to vomit now. :o

I must've had so much sugar water when I was a kid, under the guises of different name brands and pretty colors. I don't think I'd be able to take more than a sip of one of those now.

I don't really eat any vegetables or fruit. I do eat red meat, but don't like big thick hamburgers, very little meat. No steak for me either, I prefer chicken or fish. I do like bananas and oranges, but RARELY eat them. Hate apples, tried putting peanut butter on an apple once....made me gag. I love potatoes, corn and fried squash. Everything I eat is bad for me. LOL I could eat french fries every single day.

Bologna...yuck! Mayo...yuck! White bread...yuck! Pork chops...yuck! Eggs...yuck!

Eggs...yuck!You remind me so much of myself! I don't like a lot of the things you mentioned that you don't like, though I'm a huge fan of apples and white bread. Mayo I can take in very, very small quantities. Basically when I get finished removing it it may as well not be there. I can't do fried squash. Honestly, I have cereal, some chips, an apple, a banana, bottled water, perhaps some form of cheese (I LOVE cheese) and maybe some yogurt every day! Yeah, that's my idea of eating healthy. Every once in awhile I like to have some green peas or black-eyed peas. It's so hard for me to order at a restaurant because I pick so many things off my food. Lately I've been obsessed with going to Mexican restaurants, but just to eat the chips and salsa and get two cheese enchiladas. Nutritious meal, there. We should go out and eat together one day and marvel at how many things on the menu we don't like.

- JakeI usually just use it for my cereal and those particularly cold days in winter (which is like, one day out of the year in Louisiana  ) to use it in hot chocolate.

Never really drank either of them. My parents fed us on soda. real healthy.

BTW, I've never had Tang except during Sr. Week when it was mixed with vodka to produce Vang. V is for vile.

Talk about the most assinine thing to give elementary school aged children--you never could puncture it--EVER. And when you did? The entire contents of the bag would fly out of the straw and onto your clothes.

My mom instated a no sugar policy the first few years of my life. I used to go to my aunts house and she'd feed me cookies

I don't believe i've ever had Tang either. Speaking of drinks mixed with alcohol, i've never had Red Bull either.

I remember taking Greyhound from Chicago to Minneapolis one Thanksgiving & being horrified that at stops mothers were putting jolt in baby bottles for young children & then scolding them for not being quiet on the bus.

Just had my first taste of Red Bull last night - of course it was mixed with Southern Comfort so I can't really tell ya what it tastes like :p

Anyway foods I used to like:

Potted Meat  Ewww. Just eww.
Pineapple (the thought makes me gag)
Tang
Spoonfuls of sugar - I'd just eat spoonfuls of sugar

Things I used to like as a kid:

Watermelon
Tootsie Rolls
Spaghetti O's
McDonald's -My mom would never let us go there, so when I went with my friends I thought it was so cool.

Well, I am still a teenager but I can't eat spiced Pecans anymore. You know the kind you can get at the fair or flea market that are hot and sugar coated? I used to love them but I ate a whole box while I had the worst cold of my life one week so now whenever I see them I think of that horrible cold I had!

My little brother was a horribly picky eater when he was little (less so now). He wouldn't eat any fruit or vegetables. He was notoriously constipated as a child, and our mom tried to get him to drink orange flavored Metamucil, to no avail. :distress:

You really do need to eat fruit and vegetables...for roughage, and all that.

When I was little, I used to love Vienna sausage. Now, it makes me puke.

I had troubles as a child too. Sorry, all, TMI, I know. Metamucil...BLERGH!! Gimme Ex-Lax...it's chocolate! I eat Total cereal now for some fiber, but yeah, still no veggies or fruits. :(

My dad loves those lil Vienna sausages...yuck.

Breakfast cereals like Count Chocula, Frankenberry, Cap'n Crunch, etc.

Bologna (I don't dislike it now, I just avoid it)

Everything else I liked then I still like, only I like more now.

This leads me to a question related to the last few posts...is it possible to have too much fruit in a day? I didn't think it was, but I remember one day I had a banana in the morning, an apple along with my lunch, and then for supper I got one of those McDonald's fruit and walnut salads with some fries. I loved the thing but I go SO sick after supper. (I won't elaborate on that). Well, my mom said, "Maybe you had too much fruit today." I was like "Huh? Too much fruit? Is that possible?" I felt HORRIBLE that day, and we never figured out why. I have not had a fruit and walnut salad since. That sucks because it was really good. Does any of this make sense to any of y'all?

But there's no way that a banana, an apple & a fruit/walnut salad constitute "too much fruit." You ain't even close to too much fruit.

I mean, we're talking maybe FOURTEEN watermelons, three bunches of bananas, twenty-five navel oranges, sixteen papayas, thirty cups of blueberries, etc. THAT would be too much for most people.

No telling what my deal was that day. Maybe it was the McDonald's fries just because they're so incredibly unhealthy? When I was a kid I ate them all the time but I rarely eat them now...so maybe my body was not happy that I started eating them again. I can't believe I'm talking about this on the internet so I should probably stop. :o

I don't think I heard about the girl at the nightclub, but I do remember a news story about some guy who was going through hazing for some fraternity and the frat boys made him drink several gallons of water at once and he died. That was the first time it was ever brought to my attention that one could drink too much water. I do only a couple of 16 oz. bottles a day, but then I'm not going through some insane hazing process.
