Thanks for posting those, Brian.

For some reason I thought Hendrix had sold more. Same with The Who.

And 107.5 million for Led Zeppelin? Sheebus!

I have to agree. Any recognition is amazing...look at all the talent that doesn't make it and in such an oversaturated market, Stevie is still able to hold onto her place (any place, for that matter) after this long.

This is true. I wish Robin were still here, Stevie would never have gotten so low if she hadn't lost her. It is still so sad to think of.

Certainly with Stevie's talent, the volume of her writing, and her compelling image the number should be higher. Still, she is on that list. Very few people are even on it. Yeah Stevie!

I think listening to that you have to break a few commandments. Hehe. That record was my intro to Zepp, and yeah, they rocked my world. I love the song Tangerine now, that is probably my favorite song of theirs. "Dancing in my dreams was a great surprise to me, never thought I'd see your face the way it used to be." The power of that band still astounds me. I wish I could have seen them live.

They've been playing Robert Plant's new song here on the radio and I actually really like it--I will have to check out his new solo album

LOL

And who still has those cd's? For about 5 minutes, her cd is cool and then you toss it away and never listen again. Her music ages horribly and even her music from 3 years ago sounds really dated.

One should remember that these are double albums, so it's likely that their both discs are counted in the amounts of total units sold.

From billboard.com :

"For boxed sets, and double albums with a running time that exceeds 100 minutes or more, the RIAA multiplies shipments by the number of discs and/or tapes."

this article from a hard rock/metal website I frequent, And I have to say "yes" to that the albums listed are by artists that are considered "Hard Rock/Metal-friendly" even if the music itself is truly not "Hard Rock/Metal-friendly".

I know when I needed to sell a lot of something (band candy etc) my mom would peddle it for me...and buy plenty for herself...lol..that must be what happened there ;)

I think its quite intresting that if you subract the 19 million from Rumours, Fleetwood Mac still beats a lot of good competition.

And is anyone else just puzzled to death how The Eagles Greatest Hits that doesnt even contain two of their most loved songs (Hotel California and Life in the Fastlane) I mean 15 million I could see, but its the single best selling album of all time BY FAR, not even close. 28 MILLION. I really like a lot of those 10 songs but are Take It Easy, Witchy Woman, Already Gone, Desperado, and One of These Nights really the most popular songs in America. Cause that's what those sales figures tell me.

Or maybe there's a huge multi billionare Eagles fan somewhere who bought a few million copies himself.

And Stevie is way down the list with 10.5 million... Bella Donna alone amounts to half the tally at 5 million certified .

Bella Donna- 5 million
Wild Heart- 2 million
Rock a Little- 1 Million
Other Side of the Mirror- 1 Million
Timespace- 1 Million
Street Angel- 500 Thousand
Enchanted- 500 Thousand
Trouble in Shangri La- 500 Thousand

That adds up to 11.5 Million. Clearly this list hasnt been updated because Fleetwood Mac is also at 50 Million not 48.5.

OK, How the F#CK are these guys considered Hard Rock and Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones and The Beatles are not. Hell even The Eagles are more Hard Rock then them.
