I was reading Liquid's comment about how Sorcerer is one of his fave's live and just had to say-
I am finally getting around to listening to the entire Las Vegas shows and the last show (5/14) version of Sorcerer is OUTSTANDING. Stevie is in really fine voice with alot of power and vibrato. The band plays it so well. Now one of my top favorites live up there with Stand Back. Just had to say how GREAT Stevie sounded- and i have not been that impressed with the LV shows vocally(like I am with the current shows/DonHenley shows) Also a great Gold Dust Woman too. Just rocking.

I was very disappointed when this song was dropped at the Stevie/Don shows--goes perfect with Rhiannon  It was in my opinion the best song at the Grand Rapids show--I LOVE Sorcerer!!! :) I'm so glad she put it back in the set!!

I've always loved this song. The live BN version from Alabama was a favorite until I went to Vegas. The vocals on TISL are a little too processed for my tastes, but I like what Sheryl did with the rest. I even like the music video of this one.
As far as seeing a performance, Sorcerer from 5/11 in Vegas is the best thing I've ever seen Stevie do live. I liked the attitude, the phrasing, the "delivery" (whoa Mama! ) and even the little introduction she said before going into the song. This is at the very top of my Best Live Stevie Performances Ever!

She was on freakin' fire during Sorcerer and How Still My Love that night. Sure Saturday's vocals were better, but performance wise Wed. will always be my favorite.

I miss HSML and Sorcerer - both bring out the best in Ms. Nicks.

Oh yeah! Tues 5/10 it was so-so, but she rocked it out HARD on Wed 5/11. Amber & I actually looked over at eachother like "ho****!" It was so good. That sassy HSML from that night is unforgettable too.

I love this too! In Vegas, that was the song that went on loop in my head after the show. "Sorcerer, who is the master..." Totally rocks.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED Sorcerer live! :] The look that she gave on the line "Let me put you on ice" was so sexy...wow! If I was a little older and I wasn't straight...I would be all over that

Wednesday's show was out of control--especially during Sorcerer...the hip swaying, her extending the palm of her hand and marking an X like she was cutting a line...eyes closed, etc. I don't think i've ever seen her that way before--it was truly crazy but such an amazing performance.

I was sitting next to someone I didn't even know. We looked at each other like "no she didn't." I've seen the replay. Oh hell! She did!
You know the part I mean.
Unfortuantely the part that really dropped my jaw isn't on the reply. The boot man cut to Waddy at exactly the wrong time. He didn't catch the little dress move she did at the beginning. It's burned into the video of my mind, but I wish I had it on the video in my dvd player, too.

I saw her kiss the mic.
I don't think any bootleg will do that performance justice though.

The bootlegs are very good quality, some of the best video bootlegs Ive ever seen..I saw no mic loving..she always kinda sings with her lips touching the mic..nothing new

Look again cause it's there. She is kissing the mic on Wed. A boot can't do it justice. So many things are lost from the side angle and unless you know what to look for you won't notice everything. She kissed the mic about a dozen times during the 5/11 show. The only times you can see it (when she didn't do it totally in the dark after a song) is after Stand Back. The camera is hardly on her but since I remember when she did it I know where it is. You can hear it more than see it on the boot. You can see and hear it better just before Fall From Grace. Most of the other times she was in the dark between songs and the camera isn't on her. She wasn't always all the way up to the mic when she did it but often you can hear the sound of it. Listen and look.

One thing I did notice in the DVD's which I thought was hot and pretty cool was in the beginning of HSML on 5-11 she starts doing this slow little dance before the song starts..and says something like "now call the moment.."
then whispers "take it easy" and continues to do a little groovy dance when the song starts ...very hot...

She actually said, "quiet a moment." Then she said "take it easy." She also was wispering some other inaudibles.

Thanks for clearing that up...in that little moment she is so hot...it's hard to explain--that's the only time I really got from watching the dvds that kinda sexual vibe you were all talking about.. it's very cool in that part

She was being very sex-ay at the begining of that song but the pic cuts to the piano guy and the girls. That part was worth seeing just Stevie alone. I guess you had to be there to get the whole vibe. Her little dance with herself near the end looked very steamy where I was sitting right in front of her. From the side her hair is covering her face during some of that. Her facial expressions and closed eyes were priceless. Too bad the video is a little high contrast on the face.
If you don't see the vibe in Sorcerer then it really is a case of, you just had to be there.
