I was sitting at work Googling (my favourite hobby while "working") and found this on a site called Daughter One Productions in a section where people share their thoughts and experiences on suicide:

it was the summer of 1998. aug 2nd to be exzact. nice hot day, stevie nicks was playing at the concord pavilion with micheal mcdonald. i've always love to see stevie and i had made arrangements to have some one watch my son (i had a restraining order against the father). i envited my neighbor (robert) to go with me and we partied that day. i had a cell phone and my husband just kept calling me on it. myself i did not anything to do with him. he's ****'in nuts.. and thats another story...anyway. we were sitting on the lawn very close to where you get the drinks and micheal mcdonald was playin he went off and soon stevie nicks to start...the music the booze hav'in a blast. it was when i was approuched by the man soon to divorce, and did i remind you restraining against as well. he was were'in a necklace with a ring on it ( it was my ring)he a prouched us and he handed me the jewerly he looked ****in drove with maddness, and he said to my friend " shes a good women take good care of her". we got lost in the the crowd. to make a long story short, my husband suicided on aug 2, 1998 just after the nicks concert. their was alot of media atten that i did not care to much about. and to say the least my life has NEVER been the same......that night a part of me died. i did feel a big sense of relief when i would not be tormented by him any more, my son on the other hand would never see his dad again. to explain to a seven year old boy your dad killed himself last night and i am very sorry. i will never forget that day, that night still can play in my head. i lost the ring and the bracelet. the bracelet said "dads boy" and when you fliped it over it said " good by". i turned to drinkin alot. the pain was so bad, and i felt alone. every one just would say you are better off with out him. and i know that but what a waste of life. i got tired of drinkin and quit. made a new friend that would just listen to me, and joined a support group.......the only thing that worries me is that my son doesnt follow in his foot steps....................diana

That's an incredibly sad story, I wish that woman and her son all the strength and love in the world.

Holy shi*t i just got the chills. I've never read that or heard of this woman although I've obviously heard about her husband. I also heard Stevie was extremely upset about this after it happend. It must have been even more difficult since it was in the press. I hope she is doing better today.

That is sad. And I was at that concert, on the lawn, too.
How terrible. :(

I found this relating to the suicide:

Calif. Man Hangs Himself at Concert
Thanks Igor Mittelman, Aug. 3, 1998

CONCORD, Calif. (AP) — As hundreds of people leaving a Stevie Nicks concert watched in horror, a man shinnied up a pole and hanged himself with car battery jumper cables. The man encountered his estranged wife Sunday night at the outdoor Concord Pavilion and the two argued. The woman, who had a restraining order against her husband, reported him to police. By the time officers arrived, the man had taken a set of battery jumper cables and scaled a light pole in a parking lot, said police Sgt. Mike Gamble. "He wrapped one end around his neck and another end around the top of the pole,'' Gamble said. "He was threatening to jump, and security officers were trying to dissuade him from jumping. And at one point he either jumped or slipped and hanged himself.'' The man's name was not released. Concord is 25 miles east of San Francisco.

How unbelievably tragic... suicide is never worth it, never...
