I kind of feel the same way. I think I'd be more excited to see Stevie do one of these nightmare setlists than the same-old, same-old. At least it would be something different.

i actually don't mind "One More Big" all that much.. but that line "undercover music lover and an art lover like me
There were candles, crystals, I was anyone's fantasy" ruins the song for me :distress:

Yeah, that line is a bit much. I just find something magical about the song overall, right at the edge of excess but never going overboard. For me it captures Stevie at an 80's peak.

I can't believe you guys all hate "when I see you again" I LOVE this song!
Her voice is so shattered as is her spirit...pleading to Lindsey When I see you again, will it be the same? When I see you again, will it be over? Her profound emotion and saddness on this song make it a winner-----

And the ending of just Lindsey's vocals and acoustic guitar with the lines
"IF", I see you again...will it be over..

I don't know why but the heartache on this song gets me everytime, plus her voice is so trashed...it's even more poignent- Would I want to see it performed-NO, but it is still a great song

Thank you- Thank you- Thank you
I always knew there was someone out there that heard the same thing that I do when I hear this song.
Remember, she was going into re-hab when she wrote it---
Must have been so frightened and scared and the pain and love and fear and desperation in her bwitching rendition of that song, are just magical.
Rickypt---You rock!

This is not easy, because there are so many songs that Stevie has never done live, and any of them would be fabulous when compared to the setlists of the past 20 years. But, I guess, going purely on songs that I don't like, or am tired of, this is the show I would hate...and yet love to see:

One fan's nightmare is my dream.

I would love it if Stevie, on occasion, ditched her cobwebbed repertoire -no Dreams, Stand Back, Edge of Seventeen etc...all the staple songs that have glutted her set lists for decades.

She has a lot of good deep album tracks and soundtrack songs that could be tour-de-force stage performances. Even songs that are frequently lambasted by fans might come off well if they were rearranged/reworked for the stage. Of all the songs performed live, there is an equal mass of songs that have never seen the light of day on stage.

A "Songs Never Before Performed" tour is far more interesting than the same old same old.

I Still Miss Someone
Just Like A Woman
Watch Chain
Unconditional Love
Love's A Hard Game To Play

My only complaint, rant and gripe is freaking mix up the effing setlist at every show.I dont give a bloody damn what they play.I know its geared for the normal one show concert goers but give us a break.

That goes for any artist and band that plays a ditto copy every night.Whats the big deal on changing it.The band is not stupid to screw it up.Thats why they rehearse .Just get on the same page. Rant over.

Some of the choices I've seen are hilarious to me.

So, here's what I came up with:
Cry Wolf
Welcome To The Room, Sara
God's Garden
Soldier's Angel
Sara
If You Were My Love
Stop Draggin' My Heart Around
Two Kinds of Love
Lady
Every Day
Ghosts Are Gone
Whole Lotta Trouble
Paper Doll

I don't necessarily dislike these songs, but I can imagine that live, each one would sound completely awful these days.

I've never enjoyed a live version of Sara.

There were others that seemed obvious choices, like Desert Angel, Thousand Days, and Real Tears - but honestly - if she would change the tempo of some songs, rework some others to be acoustic, dip into her unreleased material now and then, and even strip some songs all the way to piano or guitar only (think AHI acoustic Gypsy), and make a few changes to the order and song selection every night to align with her energy levels and mood, I believe she'd deliver 100% every time without fail, no matter the set list.

I can't believe how few people have included Jane. Maybe it's so terrible that it goes without saying??

I used to not like Jane but its grown on me over the years. Its sung from the heart IMHO so I like it. Its always fascinating how different we all are and that is a good thing. Someone wrote their nightmare set and its my dream set and I'm pretty sure vice versa.

I did see a few consistencies. That made me stronger, I still miss someone, and welcome to the room sara are pretty popular on the nightmare set

I like Jane. Done live, it could be quite beautiful.

My nightmare set list would be:

Outside the Rain
Dreams
Stand Back
Edge of Seventeen (45-50 minutes)

:).

Just kidding -- ALMOST -- with each tour, live Edge got longer and longer. One was 18 minutes!

I am not sarcastic when I say this. While we joke at "nightmare" set lists, I would kill to see most nightmare set lists live. Even though they may be my least favorite Stevie songs, they are rare, little known, and never even thought of to do live. To hear them live would be such a change of pace. Stevie is pretty ritualistic when it comes to concert sets. While Rhiannon, Landslide, Gold Dust Woman, and Dreams are true classics...we have heard them a million times live.
One of my favorite Stevie tours was the Enchanted Tour. She did amazing songs she would never do live like Sleeping Angel, Garbo, After the glitter fades, and Rose Garden. Just wow. I would love to hear her open with a rocking I Cant Wait (full rock version), play Kind of Woman, Sometimes Its a Bitch, Bella Donna, The Nightmare, Nothing Ever Changes, Blue Denim, Blue Lamp, etc. ***Sigh*** Dream on silly dreamer
