First of all, I wanna give props to Lori (paperflowers) and Amy....These girls rock! :xoxo:
I met these two at the venue around 6:30. I was there earlier (after a 3 hr drive in 95 degree weather....I have a tan on just one side of my body  ) to hear Stevie's soundcheck. She sang Dreams, Stand Back, and half of OTR. I was worried. The soundcheck sounded terrible. She was singing really low and I dunno...it sucked.
When the girls arrived, we chatted around in the heat, met new (and old) fans, and just people watched until 7:30 rolled around. They were in Section 12 Row 2...aisle...and I was in the center section Row 3...6th seat. Needless to say, I wasn't even in my seat but 10 minutes...if that. 7:30 came and Vanessa entered the stage. She looked stunning. She had on a gold colored dress that was made from metallic fabric. GIRL CAN SING! She blew the roof off of the place. It was sad to see that no one was in the audience at the time.
She finished around 8:15 or so. She waved and said Hello to Lori and I as she exited the stage. Well, the girls and I were just talking away to the security guard during the intermission. We told him we were going to rush the stage immediately and he said that he didn't care. All of a sudden Bootylicious came on. We were already at the stage, so we just stood there. We danced around....Dreams Remix came on and everything seemed fine.
Well, security started putting people back in their seats. People were angry. The only ones allowed by the stage were the ppl in the front row. None of us had front row seats. Without even asking him, the security guard that was standing by us vouched for us and told other guards we had front row and it was okay for us to be there. WHATTA NICE GUY! We were going to buy him a beer after the show but never did find him.
About the crowd. It was about 25% filled. IT WAS BARE. 4th row wasn't even filled. Nothing was filled. The lawn was empty. It was a sad site. I knew she wouldn't be able to fill Blossom, but this was bad. :o
Anywho....back to Stevie....
So it was weird....it was just us 3...and the rest of the crowd had to stay back. I kinda felt bad about it....but that wore off. :p
We got mad love throughout the whole night. We were reaching distance from Sharon and Jana. They would give us lil hand gestures and winks....sometimes they spoke to us. It was neat. And when Stevie would look over to the girls, she saw us and gave us winks and smiles...and even sang HAEWAFY to us!!#$^%$$!@#!@#! FREAK THE MIGHTY!
Before I jump ahead of myself...the setlist rundown:
OTR: Same stuff she's been doing. She sounded great.
Dreams: Hula Dance...is all I can remember...security was being loud and obnoxious
Enchanted: Great. She was very upbeat and danced a lot.
SDMHA: I was in a daze. I don't remember a thing about this song. ;)
Rhiannon: I've heard better endings outta her. It was still a strong performance. She was getting into the groove of the show.
Sorcerer: Very well done. She sounded great on this one. She did her lil yell and the end....very powerful.
Gold Dust Woman: The yell has been changed. It's less yell and more of a moan a la the CD version. Lori and I looked at each other and was like "eh".
This became the crowd interaction song. "Ohh pale shadows" and that whole area of the song, the whole crowd was singing along. It was echoing it was so loud. Gave me chills.
She did the "baby, baby, baby...if you could see me now" at the end, again. I swore I heard her say "if you could save me now" the last few times. I could be wrong. Is this new or has she said save before?
Stand Back: HO****! The kick was outta control. It looked like she was just going to walk off stage and BAM! she turned around and that leg went in the air.
INTK: "Take your violet and blue mornings with you" at the end was very loud and she screamed it into the mic. I LOVED IT!
HAEWAFY: THE MOMENT OF ALL MOMENTS. THE BEST VERSION I HAVE EVER HEARD. PERFECTION. EMOTIONAL. She introduced the song by talking about one.org and how it is important. She was like "One dot something...I don't do computers." Then, outta the blue she said something along the lines, "This is also dedicated to the person I wrote this for....and he is here tonight." WHOA! Joe Walsh was in the building. She killed that song. The vocal was unbelievable. The crowd was silent. She looked at the three of us quite a bit on this song. I was in tears by this point. Then, at the "And when they ask her about the men in her life".....she smiled, and shook her head in a playful way and was giggling. Very mysterious.....but the song was powerful. Kicked ass.
Fall From Grace: She hit the SURVIVE note by herself. I made a special note to watch Sharon and Jana....they didn't help her out and she nailed it.
Circle Dance: I thought this was dropped because it was before FFG on opening night. I loved it with Don, but this blew me away....just her....no backup except for the last two lines. Another moment I got chills.
Edge of 17: Since no one could get up front, the rush was a bitch. All three of us were slammed up against the stage....but I guess it was the price we paid for being able to stand there the whole night. It was a madhouse....and so was Stevie. She yelled and stomped around and threw her fists. It was a reallllllly good Edge. The walk took forever. She was leaning over ppl....her guard had to keep ahold of her cuz she was literally reaching five rows back to grab ppl. She was standing on speakers....It was pure rock-n-roll Stevie. The crowd ate it up. Lori and I got to touch her again. Poor Amy was still pinned up against the stage and missed her. Sorry, Amy! Stevie was so overtop of me, her midsection was touching my forehead. That's how far back she was reaching....I shook her hand....and then I grabbed her shoulder and gave her a lil pat on the back and kinda stroked her arm all the way down. hehehe. It was kinda cool to do so. She stood over top of me for a awhile. Total kick ass! Oh, and the white dress/apron thing was back into the mix....along with a ankle length jacket with rhinestones on it.
Been A Long Time: WOW! She really got into it. She did pelvic thrusts throughout the whole night. Those were making me laugh. She would just thrust forward and back...forward and back. I think she did a lot on this song as well. She had "the pants" on and her boots. She looked fabulous.
Beauty and the Beast: Those notes she hit on this song last night? WOW. Top notch performance. She wore her cape again....with the pants and boots. Great combo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the cape over the pants better than over a dress.
After the show, we stalked the Ritz for awhile but didn't see anyone so we went to a local bar and talked Stevie for a few hours.
Today we went to Hard Rock Cafe. The have a signed guitar with a plaque that said it is the guitar used to write Wild Heart. They also had odd looking Tusk Tour Books....one was an After Party book....I've never seen this before. Oh, and they had a matchstick box from Chris and Eddy's wedding....I've never seen that before, either. Very cool stuff they had. Lori has picks...so I hope she can upload some for us.
It's shower time....If I think of more, I will make sure you guys will get the info. :wavey:

I was there and it was a GREAT GREAT show but security was OVER THE TOP! I was in the back in section 37 second row. The entire section in front of us was empty and they would not let anyone absolutely anyone move up to the empty section. They checked everyones ticket stub every step of the way, every second of the entire show. I sat there and watched 15 empty rows of seats sit empty and nobody could move up. I was furious. Even at the encore they were telling people trying to move up to the empty section to go back to the seat. Security was circleing the joint like crazy all night. I had security guards rushing by the entire time.
The show was great, best voice i've ever heard her in!

...and Ticketmaster should fill the center first and move outward....it makes it look more full. Last night looked really bad.

Hey Curtis,
It seems that you were right by me at the show. I was in section 12 row A seats 5 & 6. I had a burgundy tube top on with cuffed jeans. Did you have on a white rainbow shirt? I thought that lady with her little girl was soo darn cute and I loved that Stevie kissed her. My husband and I also got to shake Stevie's hand. The show was amazing and I thought she really sang her a** off. I loved the pants and Stevie looked really good. She has got some skinny legs. My husband was enjoying the 2 birds of rhiannon when Stevie was standing over top of us on the edge walk. This was my 4th time seeing Stevie solo and it was by far the best. She has so much energy and she really looks like she is having a great time. I sure hope somebody got a boot of the Zep cover. That was soooo good.
I saw Taku talking on his cell phone before the show while Vanessa was playing but I didnt want to bother him. I sure hope they get tour books soon. I was disappointed that they arent out yet.

This is long and really focused on the show which I know what I look for in other people's reviews so here it is:
First of all Curtis, I was right there in the front when that security guard vouched for you, I was actually quite pissed at that point at you for your danm good luck :sorry:  . But I did manage to get up there later and got to touch her hand, so all was made well in the end, but it was only thanks to Hawkeye's sneakiness. BTW ohter then the nice guy security did suck real bad. Here's my rundown of the show:.
Outside the Rain- WOW, she came out more energised and mobile then I've EVER seen her, at least live in person. This song ROCKED. She was doing new phrasing of different lines and was was punching her fists, and just SCREAMED the big finish at the end. Diamandsnake I know you like to know about this song, and im not that easy to please and she TEARS THIS UP.
Dreams- The most I've enjoyed this song, thanks to her hula dance at the beginning, and I think i like it much better being as part of the medly with OTR then to have The Chain end and have this start up up again.
Enchanted- The drummer looked weird as hell, but my god he did such a fantastic job on the intro to this song, really got me into it, and Stevie just continued her streak high energy and mobility.
Stop Dragging My Heart Around- I like this song. She went high on some stuff that she usually doesnt. It was good but compared to other things in the set, it was nothing special.
Rhiannon- worst pino into ever, but the rocking part of the song. Most of it was standard, but the I DONT THINK YOU DO has become much more of a highlight of the song then it was on SYW. Id say although the song itself wasnt in the top of the night that line would have to be one of the top 3 moments. And the ending was real good, Im so glad she doesnt do the SKY KY KY thing anymore. Its much more melodic now, and more rocking.
Sorcerer- This was amazing, The ending to this reminds me of how the ending of Rhiannon used to be.
Stand Back- SUCKED, absolutely. The high kick at the end was great even if my view of it was obstructed by some drunk ****ing asshole about 40 with a black hat going crazy during the song. But other then the kick this song really just sucked. And the drum solo sucked too, but Taku and the other guy would make up for that later. And dd to that this blinding light show they put on for this song, I like good lighting effects put this made no sense and was like I said blinding. Its amazing how this was the most energized Ive EVER seen her but the one songs shes always energised for even when shes not energised wasnt energised tonight at all. Could you follow that. Read closely
Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For- wasnt looking forward to this at all, never have cared for it, really used to think BATB was better. I did a 180 on that opinion last night. This was an AMAZING performace, and her intro to it was so funny, Just Call the President when you get home she says. And after the song is done she says it again, "call the president".
I Need To Know- with my shock of hearing she was covering LZ and my excitemetn for that I lost my interest in this song, but she BLEW THE ROOF off the place here. The best performance so far. It would only be eclipsed by FFG and Edge
Gold Dust Woman- Waddy and the band almost made this like the heavy metal version of Gold Dust Woman. This song never ever dissapoints and tonight was no exception. The SYW version was a little better.
Fall From Grace- at first I was like Why are they doing I Need to Know AGAIN. And then I was like Stupid its Fall From Grace. But really I never realized how similar the intros to these songs are. Stevie pumped her first more then Ive ever seen and she screamed like there was no tomorrow. Im SO glad this song has become a staple.
Circle Dance- I cant believe I actually at one timed complained she was doing this. It was AMAZING. It was the best of the 3 ballads and easily in the top 5 songs of the night. Her voice was so incredible on this. The chourus was much better without Don. Her voice soared. I also used this song as an opportunity to inch closer to the stage, because of all the rude assholes who feel the need to leave the show whenever they feel like. If you ****ing feel like leaving cause you don’t know the song im taking your ****ing seat. They left in biggest numbers here but they also left for Sorcerer and ****ing FALL FROM GRACE. How the hell do you do that. I don’t know whats worse, the people leaving or some of the people STAYING like that guy in the black hat
Drum Solo- This was absolutely the most amazing drum solo ever, the best drum solo Ive ever seen. More then completely made up for the awful Stand Back intro.
Edge of 17 (the song)- Best performance of any song Ive ever seen Stevie give. It was truly the rocking Stevie from the 80’s (not late 80’s) The scream was demonic. And she was speaking some kind of gibberish I couldn’t understand while the girls sang “I hear the call of a nightbird” And of course The I know what it SOOOUUUUNDS Liiiiiiike. I love how she does the Edge walk after the song, but the songs not over when the walks over, she still has some of the best parts of the song left to go. AND Im not a big twirl guy, I mean I enjoy them but I don’t go AS Ga Ga for them as others, but I was impressed with the amount she twirled at the end of this song.
Edge of 17 (The Rush) so many people just talk about the rush to the stage and meeting Stevie when they talk about Edge which is why I separated them so I could focus on the song first. But anyways I TOUCHED HER HAND. There was a 3-5 year old little girl right next to me, with her mother holding her. Very cute, but I though “How The Hell do I compete with that  Stevie’s gonna get one look at her and just go crazy and ill be right after her and wont be able to follow that. I was right. Stevie saw the girl got a HUGE smile on her face and kissed her on the head. Then I touched her hand screamed GREAT JOB, she clearly couldn’t hear and kind of nodded. I had a GREAT view of the two birds of Rhiannon.
Rock and Roll- She did a great job. She really like the title says Rocked and Rolled. The band did a great job too. Way to take such a freaking risk Stevie.
Beauty and the Beast- Boy did this song dissapoint. It was next to Stand Back, the worst song of the night. Really those two songs were the only bad points to the show. The Wild Heart didn’t have a good night  although I did really like Enchanted. But this song just has gotten so many rave reviews, it just fell flat on its beast face for me.

Yeah the 2 birds of rhiannon were out in full force last night. HA HA. I never noticed how big those things were until they were right in front of my face. Good stuff. LOL. My husband also thought that Jana and Sharon (for an older lady) were really hot too. Jana was right in front of us so he just stared at her a** all night. OH well at least he got a good view.
It's funny though because my husband was the only one in the front row that was just kinda standing there. He sang along to some of the songs but he just isnt the type of guy to go crazy at a concert.

AWESOME news that she hit the high note on "surviiiiiiiiiiiiive" on FFG. That's the first time she's hit it this year as far as I know. :woohoo:

I would be pissed. The whole center section of the pavilion was empty. I dont get them and their motives. What asswipes.
...and Ticketmaster should fill the center first and move outward....it makes it look more full. Last night looked really bad.
I can understand they dont want people rushing to the stage from the 40th row but this was the back section. All anyone wanted to do was move up to the 10 rows of empty seats directly ahead of us lololol it was so nuts. When I saw the eagles in buffalo, they sold maybe 70% of the place. All the ushers were given the unsold tickets and they gave them away, I was able to go from the nosebleeds to lower level side seats!!
I think last year when the mac played blossom, it caused security to buckle down for this show. Last year there were people bombarding the very front section all the way from the back, security was overwhelmed. I remember walking out of the place and hearing TONS of people bitching about all the people who rushed into the front sections which they never had tickets for.
It was just distracting durring the stevie show to see this bald headed security guy literally running accross the center walkway in the back, infront of us....as if there was an emergency or major major problem. The guy ran laps around the joint continiously. It was an AMAZING show but for me it was really dampered by not only security...but all the distractions they caused.

My sister Lesa is planning a second longer visit in August so I wont be making the Gigantour show in Dallas on August 2nd (Mainly wanted to see Dream Theater, But I would rather pay to see 'em headline and play their usual 3 hour set than the 90 minute show on the Gigantour US jaunt), So I figured trying for the July 17th show afterall....Besides I figure I am due some good karma after Friday nights participation in the 10th annual "Relay for Life" (I am still sore from playing/dominating volleyball, All the while I was still feeling ill from the headaches I have!!!)

Great reviews! Curtis, I HATE YOU. You stood up front all night and she sang HAEWAFY to you? I think if Stevie sang a song to me, I would pass out. Gawd, good times!
