Hi everyone. I hope I'm posting in the right place. My name is Taryn, I'm 29 years old, and discovered FM in 1997 with The Dance album. I never got into Stevie's solo career until I heard "Everyday" on the radio, wondered who was singing it, and bought her TISL album. Since 2001, Stevie's CDs have never left my car CD player! I've come to adore her and her music.

This is my first post, but for the past few days I've been reading this forum and have never laughed so hard (the video with the member touching Stevie's legwarmers made me die) and gasped so hard (Stevie's underwear on ebay??) while reading a forum! I'm so glad to have found fellow Stevie and FM fans, because I have a ton of questions that I hope can be answered here.

Tomorrow my husband and I are going to Cleveland for Stevie's concert. The forecast is for isolated t-storms, so please keep your fingers crossed that the weather holds out! We have second row seats and I'm hoping I can get to shake her hand. We're also going to her DC concert, but our seats aren't as good, so this is probably my one chance to shake her hand.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself. One question for you all: does anyone know what Stevie's heritage is? I was wondering if maybe she had some American Indian in her background. I've just been curious about this for awhile.

Thanks for reading this and I hope to get to know you all! :)

Welcome! I hope you have a good time.
I think Stevie has some AI in her heritage. She is largely known to be scottish and some other stuff, mostly white, but from what I've read, she does have a little AI. Also, if you've seen the pics of her grandpa with his wife, his wife looks very AI. Plus, don't most people, especially if they might be from Arizona, have some AI? :D Her beautiful large brown eyes speak for themselves, I think.
have a great time at the concert!!!!

Veeeelcome :) Apparently by the looks of it, you are going to have an amzing time at the show tomorrow. Fingers crossed that the weather keeps. Part of your job now is to come back here and post detailed accounts of your show. :blob1: Just kidding, but we'd all love to hear how you enjoyed it.

Welcome Taryn. :wavey:

I hope you enjoy yourself here. There's a lot of great Ledgies and it can be a really fun place, but I hope you have some thick skin 'cause it can get ugly too.

I too discovered Fleetwood Mac in 1997 (I am 24) but currently am not really a Fleetwood Mac fan so much as Lindsey Buckingham fan (or Buckinghamaniac as LB fans are referred to on the Ledge). As to Stevie's heritage? Dunno. But I'm sure some of the more rabid Chiffonheads might.

P.S. - What's with all the new Ledgies starting out in the Stevie forum? Can we get some Lindsey love? Please? :D :sorry:

Welcome. Welcome.

Welcome! I wish I could tell you about Stevie's heritage, but I'm more of a ledgie who's here to learn than to really contribute :o I'll be at the Cleveland show tommorow also, just in the lawn, but maybe we'll run into each other :) Lucky you being under a roof in the probable rain tho!

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. Amber, it was the fact that she's from AZ and has those brown eyes that made me think of her having some Indian heritage.

I have a pretty tough skin from practice on other forums. :D There is one medical forum (surprisingly) that had the most mud-slinging I've ever seen. So I half expect that kind of stuff when I join forums!

Like A Willow - is there a cover over the area I'm sitting in? I thought it'd be wide open. I'm hoping there are real Stevie fans there and not just people who want to take in any old concert. Hope it doesn't rain for both of our sakes and it'd be cool to run into one another. Maybe I should ask around for the Ledgies?!

:wavey: Hi Taryn! Hope you have fun here! :) I just joined a few weeks ago, so I'm new too! You're sooo lucky to be going to one of Stevie's solo shows! I saw her and Don in Philly on the 3rd, but I hope she comes back to the eastcoast again.... I'm dying to she her belt out 'Rock & Roll'!!! Fleetwood Mac & Zeppelin are definitely my absolute two favs eva!

I'm not totally sure what Stevie's heritage is.... I remember reading something about her being part Swedish, but I could be wrong... I wouldn't rule out American Indian, but she definitely has some Celtic blood in her (Irish, Scotch, or Welsh) because she has such a firey spirit... This is something someone should ask her at the Nicksfix....

P.S. I'm the little whack-job who posted the Panties Thread! ;) :p

hope ya hang around and join in on the insanity that is the Ledge.

Would be interesting to know if Stevie has any Indian bloodlines though, Her known background heritage sounds similar to mine (I always thought my family ethnic background was Irish/German/Cherokee...Comes to find out I am Irish/Cherokee/Scottish/Choctaw.)

Thanks again for all of the warm welcomes! I posted my Stevie Cleveland review (not that detailed because I was completely awestruck being able to stand at the stage the entire time) on Henryscutter's Cleveland Show thread.

It was marvelous - I really can't say one thing that isn't positive (except maybe that I'm not a huge Vanessa C. fan, but her piano playing was nice). The place wasn't that full like others mentioned, but once I got to the stage, I never looked back so I don't know if it ever filled out anymore after I initially saw it (which was during Vanessa's songs).

The whole thing leaves you with such a high, and then you feel depressed after it's over because you waited so long for it! :o
