"Trouble" is one of the prettiest songs Lindsey has ever written, and deserves to stay in the game up to the last couple rounds... but "Shadows Of The West" deserves to win.
When my uncle gave me his vinyl copy of 'Law & Order' way back when (his interest in LB completely ceased when 'Go Insane' was released), I recorded it onto cassette so I could listen to it on my Walkman. I rewound and re-played "Shadows Of The West" so often, I wore out the tape. :o

Ya got that right! I have no beef with MLJ (had to vote for it last round, though.) but Shadow...yeuck. I even gave it a special sympathy listen last night on the road for Nancy but got nothin' out of it. As a matter of fact, I'm going to be the first one to post my vote for Shadow of the West next round and see if I can wrangle up everyone else to get it out. I just can't appreciate that song, I think it's boring, uninspired and lame-sounding on a very otherwised quirky and fun album.

I think it's neat how Mary Lee Jones had one foot in the grave in Round 3 and in Round 4 suddenly it was back to being safe. But we'll have to see how it goes...
Well right now I'm faced with a tough call... I REALLY want to start attempting to play offensively to get "Shadow of the West" outta here, but I doubt I can get enough votes. And plus Nancy will yell at me and probably get people to vote out "Bwana".... I'll have to wait this out and see if "I'll Tell You Now" or "Trouble" get more votes. Otherwise it's voting WEST all the way.

Taking it all a little seriously aren't we? Pulling people in to vote for a particular outcome seems to defeat the purpose in holding it in the first place, assuming their was a purpose to begin with.
We're only having a bit of fun Lux, Nancy included

Don't feel like it I guess.
When I spoke of taking it too seriously, I was referring to begging done in other places so that random others would come in and vote to save particular songs as if it actually meant something. Doesn't seem like much of a game then really. Didn't you guys conclude you had to be a certain kind of fan to play anyway? Breaking one's own rules? Meh, I don't care, just taking an opportunity to assert a moral highground. She'll know.
Lux is referring to me directly asking several people to vote for "That's How We Do It in LA" a couple rounds ago, in the great tradition of CarneVaca and dissention in the old Tusk game. None of these people voted against conscience (one voted the opposite of what I asked). Lux is not familar with the old game, I guess, and didn't realize it's common practice. Oh well. To clarify, Lux, the purpose of the game is to entertain. It seems that purpose has been fulfilled.

Oh well, indeed. Do teach the misinformed.
My pleasure, Lux. Your confusion is understandable. Please feel free to join in at anytime - that is unless you want to vote for Mary Lee Jones! (that was a joke, btw, not intended to ignite moral outrage).
Edit: This reminds me of the old game, when some solely Stevie fans realized that the Lindsey fans' strategizing and soliciting of votes cost them "Sara." Their reaction echoes yours, so as I said it's understandable.

Hmm, just remembered what this post means: instant credibility loss amongst Lindsey-fans. "Liking his biggest hit so much, tss." :rolleyes:Credibility or no credibility, I love "Trouble," too, Gaius. Before it was a hit, it was still a terrific and beautiful song.
By the way, you're my new favorite person (ok, second favorite person ;) ), for granting it immunity. :xoxo:
stickin' with the finnish bastard
Before my fellow nutcases start criticizing me, I'd like to say for my defense that I think it's nicer for others if one song doesn't receive immunity all the time. Besides, I want to see how well "Johnny Stew" will do without immunity.
Nice?!?! This game isn't about being NICE to each other!
And call me a sell-out for loving "Trouble" so much. :p At least I don't suffer from the overplaying factor in this case; here in Finland "Trouble" is my private underground hit and as unknown for others as anything Lindsey has ever done. :p
I can't remember if it was a big hit here either, so there :p
You've lost your presidency of the Nutkeesclub!

Great, now we only have to get Gerald to stay up late to answer immunity questions so that I don't have to do it anymore. :D

Hypocritical Millionaire
No It's a great song, he delivers it beautiful, but it's not written by him and I know an even better version by the Walkabouts...

Chanceless. He stays up late, answers very quickly but in the rush only answers dumb. Immediately after the post is sent he knows the right answer.
Not a candidate for the presidency. Or it has to be for the government of the Netherlands, because the one we have now is easily out-competenced by me.

Oh dear. My two favorites, "Bwana" and "Johnny Stew" are climbing into the danger zone here. Gotta vote this way to keep em around.

I know! This game is certainly unpredictable.
I like all the others more.
