I just thought about this the other day, and I feel it needs to be said. Having not been able to see Fleetwood Mac live on either the Tusk or Mirage tours, ("Too Young" my mother said :distress: ) and on TITN Didnt have the money, BTM missed out on tickets cause show was sold out, I did not have the chance to see Fleetwood Mac live until the Dance tour. I still remember driving 700 miles from Minneapolis to Cincinnati for my first show, and the four after that I saw on the Dance Tour. Detroit, INdianapolis, Mineapolis, and Fargo. Then on SYW, I was lucky enough to have saved up some money over the years, and I was lucky enough to be able to go to 35 shows over 2003-2004. I remember thinking at the last show in Detroit on 9-14-04 about how incredibly luck I and all other Fleetwood Mac fans were that we were able to enjoy those incredible 2 years. The simple fact that they all are still in great health, and now them seem to be getting along better thatn ever, I think we all could take a lesson from that. I know I can. :) I am just so grateful to all members of Fleetwood Mac for giving me the best 18 months ride I;ve ever had. Thanks guys.

I do genuinely feel grateful to have been able see FM at the three SYW concerts I was able to attend (I'm sure my credit card companies were quite happy about it too - since I spent approx $1,500 all told). But what would thrill me the most? To be able to attend an LB solo show. Unfortunately that would require him to release a new solo album and that ain't happenin' anytime soon. Not as far as I can see.

Right now though? I'm looking forward to seeing Petty in August. More immediately however, I am salivating with jealousy as I see that Walter Egan will be doing a solo gig in his hometown tomorrow night. Admission? $5.00

This has got to be the one and only time I ever wished I lived in or near Country Music's capital. :distress:

I agree wholeheartedly, David. Way back in 2000 when I first began my slide into Fleetwood Mac obsession, I remember thinking "Oh no, I love this band so much...they're my favorite...And I'll never be able to see them perform! All of that musical variety and those harmonies will never be on a stage before me. Instead rap music tours come to town"
I couldnt have said it any better :)
Then the 'Say You Will' tour came to town on the first leg of the tour, but I was unable to see the show (July 8th, my birthday, if memory serves). While in Tahoe later I discovered that Fleetwood Mac was playing in Reno--the very night of the concert! Sadly, we were unable to get tickets.

I was very happy to buy tickets to the San Jose date last June. We had great seats, and it was so wonderful. I laughed, cried, the whole deal. Imagine, to my surprise, that Stevie Nicks was playing in Las Vegas! Oh my gosh--and I could actually go! That was fantastic. Now, I'll most likely be seeing Stevie Nicks at the end of July...Three Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks concert in about a year. I'm very grateful, the memories of their performances and the people I have met have been completely worthwhile.I couldnt have said it any better :)

Wow, you went to 35 shows? That's incredible. I've only seen the Mac once & Stevie solo twice & I consider that lucky for me. But the next time they're all out on tour again, I'll be there!

That's great that you've had a chance to see them both :) ! The way I look at it is that I consider myself very lucky to have been able to do what I've done. In no way does that make me any better of a fan than you or anyone else. WHat matters more than anything is how you feel about the music.

Unbelievable. Did you stop working for 18 months to travel around?

Nah...when you see a band 35 x's on ONE TOUR, especially at TODAY's concert prices, that's amazing.

When I racked up the majority of my FMac concerts, I was going to see them when the top price of seats was STILL between $10-25. ;) (and gasoline was only about 50 cents a gallon; and everybody was aghast at THOSE prices)

I'll tell you all my dirty little secret. The only way I was able to afford to go to all the shows I went to was that fact that at about 28 of the shows I was in the cheapest seats. I guess I'm not one of those people that HAS to sit in the front row every night. I was just thrilled to be able to be in the arena every night. :D Incedentally, here's the rundown of the shows I saw.

2003
5-7, Columbus
5-9, Washington D.C
5-10, Pittsburgh
5-13, CLeveland
5-15, Buffalo
5-31, Nashville
6-1, Greenville
6-3, Atlanta
6-5, Birmingham
6-19, St.Paul
6-20, St.Paul
6-22, Moline
6-24, Indianapolis
6-26, Chicago
6-27, Chicago
6-29, Milwaukee
7-16, Anaheim
7-17, Anaheim
7-19, San Diego
7-21, Phoenix
8-13, Kansas City
8-19, Grand Forks
9-13, Chicago
10-9, Omaha
10-18, Las Vegas

2004
5-8, Madison
5-9, Champaign
5-12, Green Bay
5-29, Holmdel
6-10, Scranton
6-12, Hershey
6-13, Cleveland
7-13, Sioux City
7-14, Cedar Falls
9-14, Detroit

ANd man what a ride it was!! I was too young or didnt have enough money before this tour except for the Dance (5 shows), so believe me, after having listened to them for  almost 30 years, I wasnt gonna miss this one.

Still...the price of ONE "cheap seat" in 2003/04 you could get FOUR floor seats within the first 10 rows in 1979...and those were "an outrageous price" compared to shows in 1974-77.

Yup, I felt the same way about the SYW tour. So nice there were so many of them. It's almost like they were trying to make up for The Dance tour being relatively short. If I remember correctly, most of those shows were sell outs. I only made it to 2 SYW shows because I had to be in front. Since then, I've discovered I can do pretty good in cheaper seats just to be there too. I'm not in the best location for being able to get to various shows. For SYW I was contemplating driving down and hubbing out of SoCali because there were like, what, 5 shows down there? Just wasn't ready to transition from front row to back row yet.

Laura

PS: I hate to admit at one point I complained about all the SYW press and merchandising, etc. but that's because I simply could not keep up with it all. It was a buffet type banquet of which I stuffed myself and then got indigestion. :)

i SURE DO REMEMBER. THAT SHOW WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE TOUR FOR ME. :D My album has a bunch of pics of throughout the tour, plus my vegas stevie pics, and my pics with Mick and Lindsey. I'm going to the Milwaukee and Minneapolis shows next week, then the 2 texas shows and red rocks ;)
