Thus far, these are the songs that Stevie has performed only on one tour, and they have yet to make another concert appearance. Someone should do a poll to see which ones most fans would like to see in concert again. It would be interesting to see which ones make the top 10.
I've surprised myself with one of my choices. For some reason I think that given the chance, "I Can't Wait" could become the new "Stand Back." (as far as being a rockin' concert staple.) If the song was recast -- by shredding the 80's production and taking a harder rock/trans approach --it would kill.

when were Sleeping Angel and It's Only Love performed?
by the way, I loved Twisted live. That last little part where the music changes and she says "you like to be twisted" gives me chills.

Sleeping Angel was performed for the Enchanted 98 Tour and It's Only Love was performed at the Shine Club with Sheryl Crow. It was also performed at private show in April 2001 at the SIR Studios in LA.

Ha Ha We all have our days.
Personally, I would love to see I Can't Wait and Talk To Me back in the sets.

The one that shocks me is Nightbird. How come it wasnt even played on the freaking tour that it was on the album. They only played it on TV performances. Its an amazing song and was a pretty decent single for Stevie. Its not like it was that difficult to perfrom live. And hell it gave Lori the spotlight like Sharon has every time Edge is played.

I know! I think I Can't Wait should be right up there with GDW and EO17 as standards. But, I guess maybe it's too hard on Stevie vocally and I wonder, too, how she'd perform it. I wouldn't like to see it diluted.

To my knowledge, Nightbird was going to be added to the set for the second leg of the tour. Stevie, however, started work on RAL instead...and got into all that stuff that happened around that time.

Sharon doesn't get much Edge or any Stand Back attention anymore. Whatever other backup singer is with her is doubling her parts, and this is what I've heard/seen in boots/CDs/DVDs since The Dance tour.
Is it just me, or has Sharon lost some of the power in her voice? :(

I would really love to know why she never did I Can't Wait after RAL. After all it was one of her biggest solo hits and one of her best songs IMO. Anybody have any ideas as to why this didn't become a touring song? It's one of my top 3 Stevie songs and I'd pee my pants if I ever heard her do it live today. I've heard her say TTM is difficult to sing live by the way.

What about After The Glitter Fades? I know it was done on the Enchanted tour, but not familiar enough with the WWDTour setlists... At least, it's not on the one or two shows I have.

ATGF was on the WWD Tour as well. It was performed between Angel and Gold and Braid.

Garbo, however, was another one tour only song.
MY picks for songs that should come back:
Sleeping Angel!! What a great song and she always seemed so happy while singing it.
Not a one tour only song, but please please do it anyway: Gold and Braid! Who doesn't love this song? (Diss excluded because he doesn't like anything).
Never been a big fan of I Can't Wait live or otherwise.

If I'm not mistaken, I Can't Wait was even taken out of the RAL tour after a while. She said about it once that what we hear on the album was the first time she'd sung it, and she just couldn't capture that energy again. Now, I don't know if others would agree with that, but I do know that when you want to do something but it just never turns out the way you want, even if everyone else loves it, you just give up. I think this is the same reason why she never did Seven Wonders after the TITN tour. I mean, it was all right live, but nothing tops her power on the album cut.
By the way, is anyone surprised that there is nothing in the tour from SYW?
Talk to Me is a hard song to sing in general. I don't know if it's the chord progression or just that in many parts it's so up and down. I don't think she's ever done a truly flawless VOCAL with this song live, but the way she tears it up (or at least used to), it doesn't really matter. I always say, a rock and roll singer exhibits a quarter singing and three quarters emotion.

If I'm not mistaken, I Can't Wait was even taken out of the RAL tour after a while.I don't think it was taken out of the set in 1986. I think it was there all the way to the end -- the final shows in Australia.
She said about it once that what we hear on the album was the first time she'd sung it, and she just couldn't capture that energy again. Now, I don't know if others would agree with that, but I do know that when you want to do something but it just never turns out the way you want, even if everyone else loves it, you just give up.That could be. But sometimes songs are dropped because the band has trouble with them, not necessarily the lead singer (for example, "Planets of the Universe" in 2001). "I Can't Wait" is the kind of production that a band can be really hit or miss on in live performance. The bass player, especially, has a LOT of work to do in that song. It's a slap-bass, very complex polyrhythm. I think it worked really well in concert in 1986 -- you never expect a band to capture something in the studio perfectly. Who the heck wants that? But all in all, they kept it movin' & shakin'. Stevie forgot the words a bunch of times, but that's par for the 1986 course, & doesn't detract from the energy of the performances.
Talk to Me is a hard song to sing in general. I don't know if it's the chord progression or just that in many parts it's so up and down.Nothing difficult about that chord progression. It's pretty basic. Stevie & back line did a great job with it in 1994. That a cappella cadenza with its lush harmonies was one of the great Stevie song endings of her entire concert career.

oh my gosh--there are so many.......but I remember LOVING After the Glitter Fades--and even my sister who isn't a big Stevie fan and I don't even know if she ever heard the song before the Enchanted concert--commented on how much she liked that song :) I Can't Wait would be very cool....... I LOVE Juliet--but not a popular song I know...... I also love love love Gold and Braid and Angel........I don't think I've ever seen Angel live????? I honestly can't remember--did she do that during Mirage or Wild Heart at all??? I know I never saw a Tusk show live :distress: You would think I would remember seeing it though considering how I love that song so much :) :) :) She has never done That's Alright at a concert--another personal favorite I would love to hear--would have sounded nice during the Dance tour by say Farmers Daughter or something........ I think they could have totally pulled that song off without a hitch :D

Ah, ok, my mistake. I knew I saw something about I Can't Wait in the concert sets page on nicksfix, but it just talks about its movement within the set list.
As for TTM, see, I'm not much of a musician, so of course I had to speculate (I was hoping to sound smart but now I just sound like an ass, lol). I don't even know what the chord progression for the song is...again, just speculating. What are the chords anyway?

You're a great gal & I for one love chatting with you! While the chord progression for "Talk to Me" isn't complex, the lead vocal line has a range of a twelfth! That's an octave & a half! Stevie's voice needs to be extremely pliable to go from the bottom of that twelfth to the top. It might aggravate her throat.
I don't even know what the chord progression for the song is...again, just speculating. What are the chords anyway? The progression is a simple I - IV - iim7 - I (tonic --> subdominant --> supertonic --> back to tonic)

Me, too. But I also think her voice would be great on Long Way to Go. She'd punch out her finger like she does, shake her fist a little, yell out "have fun tell the world!!!". It would kick ass.

Great suggestions from everyone so far! The one song I'd really like to see added to the setlist, picking from previously performed songs, would be Blue Lamp. As far as songs never performed...Imperial Hotel would make me very happy.

My choice is simple: Bella Donna. I think even today, her voice would sound great on that. It's sung mostly in her lower register anyways. I think it would be awesome.
