This song is so gorgeous to me and the vocals on the 2 versions I have are like sweet sin. How many mixes are there of this song? I do feel like the lady from the mountain at times. I can really identify with this song...well, the parts I understand.

EDIT: anyone been able to figure out the chords to this song? I'm gonna try to figure them out tomorrow.

I have been thinking about this song a lot lately. I have about 7-8 versions of it I think, maybe more. The only one I don't like is the new age synth type version.

My absolute favorite vocals from Stevie ever occur on what is called Take #2 from the master reels. I love this song and am so glad to have the demo version since it likely won't ever be recorded it seems.

LOVE this song. Did you all hear that "White Widow's" band version? Weird. Courtney meets Stevie meets unknown band. LOL. Wonder how she can even do that song. I mean it's registered by Stevie, so it is copywritten, but still as an unreleased song, I thought for sure that there would be some sort of restraints on it being able to be performed. Maybe cause she sings it live only, and it's not "recorded" like studio wise.
Anyway for anyone that is interested:

It's still there. If you go to the site, and in the upper left hand corner there is a bright box that says "click here to downlaod music" Once there you will find the 2 live versions of LFTM, and Go Insane. I swore I had dlded these 2 songs, and I was gonna forward them on, but I hadn't, so am doing so now. If you can't find it, PM me

What is a real tease is that Stevie obviously loves the song enough to quote it in the enchanted book...and I think she could totally pull off an amazing version of that song today...especially after hearing the range her voice still has after listening to the new dreams version.

Take #5? What is take #5? I have 34 Lady From The Mountians, and none of them are labeled as take #5? What is the running time on this? What disc is it from? Is it a demo, or a master reel cut? Please sate my curiosity.

The Take #5 I have has a running time of 4:31. It is my fave, too, out of all of them. Her voice is flawlessly raspy.

They're talking about the master reels, I believe. I have a lot of LFTM too, I can't keep track of them all.

All I know is I adore the versions where she sings the "did she call out, did she say to you, 'please save me', OOOOOOOHHHHHHH, tonight." really fast & high.

That's the one I like! It has to be a RAL outtake. You can tell by her voice. I wish I could find a clear copy of this, but I the version I have doesn't have REALLY nice sound quality.

Well I guess it says VERSION 5 instead of take #5 and the running time I have is 4:30. But yes it is absolutely flawless Stevie raspiness, and if any of your 34 versions even come close to this I would LOVE more than anything to hear them. I can send you version 5 if you want to pm me!!! :)

Yeah, I figured they were talking about master reels. I am in the process of putting all of my master reels, and other music, on my PC Jukebox. It's a terribly lengthy process, naming all of the master reel tracks when I save them to the hard drive. I am not bragging, but I have, like, 230 masters. To me, they are more addictive than ANYTHING. I guess it's because I've collected Stevie demos 1984, so the masters were such a breath of fresh air after years of ****ty 100th generation cassette recordings.

But there's no way I'd pay 3K for that master reel currently on ebay. Hell, I probably already have it on CD.

I just got my first two renditions of this evah, and it's my new favorite. I mean, the one I have with her singing harmonies with herself. I don't know which one it is, but there's talking in it, and about a third of the way through, she says, "that was lucky!"
