I would like to start posting more video downloads on my site, but I have no clue how to take a dvd-r concert and break it down into smaller files that I can upload to my site.

Can anyone advise on how to do this? Thanks much!

I'm trying to figure it out myself! I have a friend who helped me with it in the past, but now he's busy. Grrr.

I was just thinking of you, Nancy! I was going to PM you, but if you do figure it out, please let me know if its not too much trouble :)

I just traded for some awesome dvds (THANK YOU PATTIE!!) and would love to share online.

You are welcome! Glad you got them however I can't help you with the techical part. I also have dial-up so I really am no help. That is why I just to DVD trades it is easier sometimes until you get to the different types of DVDs.

Are you trying to break it into audio or video?

Video.

Basically I want to take dvds that I receive from trades and break them up into smaller files so I can upload them onto my site for downloading.

Any advice would be great!

When that's good and done, click 'Start.' It might take a while before it actually starts, but it'll start eventually.

Thanks for the great advice and direction . . . except I don't see any "start" button on the program. Maybe I am just blind . . .

EDIT: Ok, I found the start button, but I had to select the chapter to rip. I don't know if that was right to do or not.

I have now opened up the 2nd software item and when trying to select the .vob file I get an error message: "File C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\FM Videos\vts_01_1.vob can not open, or is unsupported".

Any advice? I also don't see the right kind of audio file for selection that you mentioned.
