OH--and Pattie--number three is a good example of the "white" faces I told you about....at least this one was clear though!! The others are all blurry :0P

They really did not come out bad at all! I see what you mean. I have had that problem when taking her picture, too. I think between the her blonde hair, the black clothes and the lighting that the camera gets confused and doesn't get the correct exposure.

I would just experiment with your camera. Canon makes great cameras both film and digital. You should have no problem getting some great shots. I try to use a fast write speed SD card when I shoot concerts it seems to help a bit or maybe it is in my head. What kind of camera did you use for SYW photos?

Thanks Pattie--the darker ones (not the Hotel California ones) were actually oops photos!! LOL!! I think my husband hit the automatic mode instead of the manual mode for these because I remember him getting all concerned because the flash went off a few times!! LOL!! Too bad we didn't "oops" a few more :p I wish he would have viewed a few of them also so he would have known they weren't coming out--he was so paranoid about getting caught and he didn't want to turn on the LCD screen.......the security guy was only like 5 people down from us.......the camera is really tiny though. The camera that I took back and am thinking of re-buying is the Fuji finepix S5000......we got some decent SYW shots using that one without the flash--but again--some of the full length shots were all washed out--I think it is just the white lights.....because every last darn photo of Lindsey seemed to turn out fine!! ha ha And he was under those blue lights all night--plus he was a lot closer........I think with this new camera as long as I use the automatic mode then they will be okay--but then we have to chance security noticing the flash and risk them trying to take it away.....we did do some test shots before the concert--but it is hard to mimic that lighting!! ha ha Thanks for the tips!! If you have any others I am always happy to listen :) I can tell you about some of the "special" settings too if you think those will help out any..... I can always email you privately if you want--we are probably boring everyone else to tears

Those are GREAT!! I especially love #5. I'm so glad someone's photos from Detroit worked out - there's a few people who've posted them - makes me feel better about my lost cause. :(

pattie, exactly what i was thinking amy should talk w/ you or tiff (enchantedsln) about the pic taking~ you both have good tips~ tiff gave the no flash tip & my say you will sioux city photos were clear & wonderful~ my hubby has an awful time w/ the digital camera~ he gets like a 1 every 10 pics to turn out, he hates the camera but i love it so far~ i practiced w/ mine by taking pics of all kinds of stuff in different settings & lighting, my son is always saying "mommy time to take my picture"~ anyways now i am babbling~ amy your pics aren't that bad, i like them, you can totally make out who they are, thanx for posting, i can't see enuf of stevie!!! ~
