I'm a little confused.....

I've been looking for this 45 alot lately and I can't really seem to find too many them (at least one that isn't like $60!) I found out that this is the hardest 45 of Stevie's to find because it was "rejected" or something and all production of it was stopped  I heard that she DIDN'T LIKE THE PICTURE SLEEVE! how is this possible? I personally thinks its the best looking out of all the Wild Heart singles  Anyway, I was just wondering if this was true or not, or if anyone knows why its so rare.....

Thanx~Carei

Well, I don't know how true it is that she didn't like the sleeve, but it is true that only a very small number where released with a picture sleeve, and then the rest were released in a plain sleeve.

So the picture sleeves are definitely a rarity,

I wish I could remember where I read this.... I recall seeing an article somewhere once that said the reason the Nightbird 45 with a picture sleeve was so rare was because there was initially a small shipment sent out to record stores, based on their pre-orders. After this initial shipment, the warehouse that stored this 45 had a fire, and the remaining copies were destroyed. I don't know if that's true or not, but it would explain why there were so few available.

Come to think of it, I may have read this on an e-bay auction, so who knows. Sellers will say anything to justify their high prices.

Worthington shot the photo & it must have been adored by Stevie because it was used in a bunch of other stuff, like calendars & such. Also, I think Worthington was selling it as a print for a few years.
