Check it out (http://www.rodeoswest.com/index.htm)

I myself dont see the resemblance, but there are some legal documents, and apparently stuff was accepted by an FBI agent, as well as the Family Attorney...I would imagine this guy would be sued for everything his great great grandchildren would ever have if it was a hoax, right?

ps: if this guys IS Jim Morrison, he sure turned out to be a real freakin' D.O.G..... a far cry from his babehood days as the front man for the Doors...

mmmm...that doesn't really look like him, though. And he'd be way older than that guy...

I can tell you I got out MY Doors CD and compared, and the old fart pic is too far away and too grainy to make any real comparison...he looks like the dude that played in Have Gun Will Travel (name escapes me) and that guy is a poster child for YEWGLY.

if you look at some of the other links, there are some documents, like a letter to the family Attorney, and a document/package sent to the FBI, that make me wonder....also, if it IS true, I have to wonder why JM chose to resurface as an old cowhand/rodeo cowboy, and why NOW? if the FBI wanted him before, what makes him think they dont still want him? Why didnt this make mainstream news?
I think (if it IS true) that its a pretty pathetic stunt, and if it is false, I hope this eejit loses his shirt and anything else he owns..........

He re-appeared selling a video. Say, that doesn't speak "scam" at all.

Right.

And yeah - wouldn't Jim Morrison be a lot hotter errr...I mean older than that guy?

Maybe that's just a lame old guy who happens to be named Jim Morrison and he's trying to capitalize on it??

I know a dude who's name is Bill Wyman and he once got an actual letter from Bill Wyman of the ROlling Stones' lawyer telling to cease and desist the use of his name

God, this has been going on for years. He's 6 feet under. End of story.

Though, I see a dude that looks just like Tupac walking around every now and then. Hm.

There would be no need to cover his arms with a fake long sleeve yellow shirt unless he has something on his bare arms that JM did not have.

If that's Jim Morrisson then I'm Marilyn Monroe. NFW is that him.

I'm right there with you! The Doors are one of my favorite bands. I read endless amounts of information on Jim. My conclusion: Jim is dead and buried in France. I would wager money on it!

I think even Danny Sugarman came to that conclusion.

 Yes, and it was quite difficult for him. No One Get Out of Here Alive is a great book, might I add.

It's one of my favorites. I gave it to my daughter to read and she became a big Doors fan.

That is really great that she is a fan now! I think that No One Here Gets Out Alive is a very fair portrait of Jim Morrison. It shows the ups and the downs/the good with the bad. I also recommend Riders on the Storm by the Doors' drummer, John Densmore. It is a excellent book as well and also a fair portrait.

I've never read John Densmore's book. I'll have to check it out. :)

I remember hearing about something similar happening to a guy named Don Henley, who runs the site don-henley.com, or Donald Henley's Christian Perspectives. They talked about it on VH1 (I think) a few years back. DH's lawyers sent him a letter to cease and disist from the use of the domain name (apparently at the time, the guy also had a DH discography posted to placate any wayward websurfers, but with statements acknowledging that the webmaster's name is Don Henley, but he isn't a musician.) The site is still up, but the last update is posted as 8/2/00.

I enjoyed this quite a bit too. Wasn't John Densmore a consultant on The Doors ? Seems like I heard something about that back in the day...

That movie? Creeped me out.

Val Kilmer looked nearly identical to JM. Freaky.

Yup. I'm sure Stone embellished quite a bit (as is his way) but he did do a great job with Val. I think John Densmore (or maybe it was Ray Manzarek?) commented that he felt really weird on the set because Val was so creepily identical to Jim. I guess that would be weird.

Yes, he was a consultant for the movie. If you read his book you can see the parts in the movie that he helped to add, because there are a few things he discusses in the book that end up in the movie.

That is pretty weird. :sorry: I haven't read Densmore's book either but did read NHGOA and was riveted. What a crazy, dangerous, gifted man he was.
