I took from the request for the accuser's testimony that they were reconciling the direct contradiction of that by the alleged victim a la M. Caulkin. But, we shall see. The problem with this case is the prosecution put on no really credible witness - every witness has sold their story, been contradicted, etc. So, they are relying on the fact that (1) MJ looks like a freak and (2) it is in general creepy that little kids stay over there - to convict him.

Here are the charges:
The 46-year-old pop star is facing judgment on 10 counts, stemming from events that allegedly took place with a 13-year-old boy two years ago:
four counts of lewd conduct with a child younger than 14;
one count of attempted lewd conduct;
four counts of administering alcohol to facilitate child molestation;
one count of conspiracy to commit child abduction, false imprisonment or extortion.

I think even not guilty to this exact charge as they will IMO find him not guilty to any molestation charges. This charge, however, includes the lesser and non-specific charge of "furnishing alcohol to a minor" - which he will be found guilty of IMO.
If that is the case, he should count his besslings for the botched prosecution in this case, pay the fine, and then move to Thailand.

I do not think juries should ever decide any case on anything but the evidence, which here is clearly unsupportive of the prosecution's case. I mean if we let juries consider anything, then what is the point of having them when a lynch mob has the same mentality.

Jason, I expect the Jury to decide based on evidence as well. Its just that I think there is PLENTY of evidence to point to guilt. You just chose not to believe it.
For myself, the word of the victim is a HUGE decider, plus his brother/sister, as well as the former employees, the videotaped police interview, the prior evidence, all point to a history a pattern and a current problem that MUST be stopped.

The word of the victime is NOT tainted in MY book, the video of the police interview shows to ME that this boy was embarrassed about having to talk about it, and his body language and his reticence show ME that he is NOT out for $$$. As for your claim that the employees were rebutted, I dont agree.
Granted, the one employee engaged in an extortion attempt but it doesnt negate his other testimony. Besides, I am sick of people saying MJ was a victim of money grubbers, the man used his $$$ to BUY people and PAY OFF people. He cant have it both ways. sorry, we just dont agree.......
besides. all the lawyering in the world isnt what wins or loses a case. in the end, it is up to the jury and they all have their own ideas even before being selected as a juror. In OJ's case, the inner city predominantly black jury came up with a much different answer than a predominantly white Beverly Hills Jury would have delivered (btw: OJ SHOULD have been tried in his own court district, that change of venue made all the difference in the world and his attorneys knew it. I submit that all the evidence in the world that would have proven OJ guilty would still not have brought a guilty verdict precisely because the jury members were determined NOT to let one of their heroes go down. Just my 2c.)

I think they meant criminal charges, which are different than a civil suit where it is not the damage to the state that is being addressed - it is the actual damage to the victim. Maybe the time has expired for him to file suit - I do not know Cailf. law on this.
earlier in the trial, the victim said he wasnt aware of the possibility of a civil suit........personally, I dont think that will happen, that would only prove the naysayers right (that all they were after was $$$) but, obviously, I can be wrong

Ever since this whole MJ thing started months and months ago, I just have never believed he was guilty of anything. And no matter what anyone here or anywhere else thinks, none of us were there, and none of us know the truth, and none of us should judge the guy for somehting we truly know nothing about firsthand.

Strand, what is wrong with prosecutors? Why can't they get their sh*t together? It happens over and over.
To their defense, it is not the easiest thing to put on a crystal clear case - a la W. Ryder's prosecution. In this case, all of their witnesses were either directly refuted and/or it was shown that monetary gain could have been involved. I would NEVER have brought this case to trial. I would have waited for a better victin. The one thing out of all of this is if MJ were a true ped. there should be many, many more victims as it is rare just to have two over 20 years. Hopefully, the dectectives did their work snooping around trying to find them.

Wait - what did Leno say? Even though I don't like him anyways, that totally makes me want to boycott his show. Here's some info I found on the web.
-----
Leno told the court he received a number of calls from the accuser, most of them resulting in messages left on his voice mail, although he spoke to the boy once to return the calls. The messages were left while the boy was in the hospital receiving treatment for cancer and had hoped to meet his favorite celebrities. When the talk-show host called back, the boy was "groggy," Leno said, and yet "something didn't click." "It seemed like it was overscripted," Leno testified. "He was too effective for a 12-year-old."
However, Leno was ineffective for someone who makes a living with his punch lines. According to Thomas Mesereau's opening statement, the defense had anticipated Leno would say more than this, that he was suspicious of the calls and thought the family was "looking for a mark." Leno conceded that the boy might have been reaching out for financial help, saying, "Yeah, probably, I thought maybe they were looking for money." But under cross-examination, Leno admitted the boy never asked for money.
Leno said he told mutual friend and comedian Louise Palanker that he thought the accuser was calling him too much, and she said she'd take care of it. Leno never heard from the accuser or his family again, he said.
Though Leno often cracks jokes at Jackson's expense on "The Tonight Show," the singer is housing the comic at Neverland during his stay in the area.

Did the prosecution prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt

You know, for a group of people who clearly cant stand Michael Jackson, you do spend an awful lot of time chatting about him.
And dont give me this 'were concerned about the kids' cr*p, the only way any of you have of knowing about the way he raises his kids is via tablod rubbish like Court TV, and if you believe what they say then, gosh, im so sorry for you. The people who know him praise him as a great father, so Im not sure what gives you the right to make any judgements.
As far as Im concerned the only mistake he's ever made is sharing a bed with young boys. And thats because most people here obviously associate beds with sex, not everybody does, least of all kids, and thats pretty much what Michael Jackson is.
And please dont respond to this by telling me what a freak he is because Iv heard it all before and am able to get a more intelligent argument from my 6 year old nephew.

You're right. I don't know what I could possibly be thinking. He dangles his baby from a hotel room balcony and forces his little children to wear masks and veils. He refuses them any contact with the birth mother and rears them in such a healthy, wonderful environment. He's a regular Father of the Year.
Gimme a ****ing break. He's a goddamned pedophile. Don't give this song and dance about "All he does is share his bed with boys, nothing else" because you know that's horse **** as much as I do. If he's such an innocent victim, he wouldn't have paid off his other accusers. If he's such an innocent victim, he would have fought the charges. I'm so sick of this "He's just eccentric" hogwash. Really? When? Who has praised him & said he's a great father? Latoya? Yeah, she's credible.
And we all have the right to make any judgments we want. Even a 6 year old knows that everyone's entitled to their own opinions.

The thing that bothers me the most about his acquittal (other than the fact that a guilty pervert freak has been let off) is that because he's so famous, this may be sending out a huge message to kids. DON'T TELL, because it won't do any good.
Pedophiles make it their business to surround themselves with kids, hence Freakboy Neverland Ranch. To anyone who is supporting him, please take off your fan goggles and see this person for what he is. And educate the children in your lives (maybe your six year old nephew, goldustboi) about how important it is to tell SOMEONE about abuse/molestation.

My word you are an angry person.
Your post is simply RIDDLED with misinformed statements. E.g. when MJ has settled out of court in the past its because of advice he has taken from his people, if you could see through this bizarre hatred induced obsession with Michael Jackson you apparantly have, and do some research (No, I dont mean watching Court TV) then you'll have a clearer understanding of what went on and discover that the settlements were not his ideas - another example of how, being so naive, has gotten himself into trouble, by listening to people who make bad decisions FOR him.

I don't know, wasn't Michael's biggest mistake sharing a bed with young boys. Did his people advise him to do that then?
The problem is here, is that Michael should have learned a huge lesson the first time round, that people simply do not approve of adult men sleeping with young boys. It is not the done thing, even if he's completely innocent. Despite being accused of abuse by Jordy Chandler and going through such a traumatic time as a result of that, Michael ignored everything that happened to him and carried on doing it! Classic symptoms of a paedophile I'd say.
I'd love to know, of his defenders, how many of them would let their child sleep in the same bed of a 46-year-old man.
Anyway, he's ruined now and his name is forever linked with child abuse. He won't be making a comeback and hopefully he doesn't have enough money to attract gold diggers who are willing to put their child in danger in exchange for a few bucks.

I am supposing someone "advised" him to buy the picture books of naked young boys, the other porn, and the hallway to his bedroom that "alerts" the occupants when someone is approaching ?
Who advised this, John Wayne Gacy ?

Well, not only that, but any advice he got from any of his people does not obviate the fact that the prior victim was able to identify markings on Jackson's penis much less the porn you mentioned. He got lucky that the first victim could be bought off as that person had a MUCH better case than this last one.
As for the alert in the hallway - that is standard panic room issue for many rich people and stars. So, it does not concern me as much. Though, it being standard issue does not mean MJ did not use it to further his otherwise nefarious intent.

I couldn't possibly say whether or not his behaviour displays "Classic symptoms of a paedophile" because I don't really come across many in day to day life. You apparantly do, so you would know.
People really have difficulty even trying to understand what kind of life Michael Jackson has lead so I really can't see how anybody can compare his value system to their own. I'm not trying to say that this would justify anything he ever did, but people presume that because Michael Jackson is in a bed with somebody, he's having, or at least trying to have sex with somebody.
And Im pretty sure he will make a comeback. There may be a lot of MJ haters but there's also still a helluva lot of people who like him and his music.

I think it is a little disingenuous for you to state that MJ is not a pedophile if you know little about what that is -
But, for your edification:
PEDOPHILIA
A preference for repetitive sexual activity with prepubertal children.
(See also Ch. 264.)
Arbitrarily, the age of a person with this disorder is set at >= 16 yr, with the age difference between him and the child victim set at >= 5 yr. The age of the child is generally <= 13 yr. For older adolescents with pedophilia, no precise age difference is specified; clinical judgment is relied on. When the victim is postpubertal, the disorder is frequently labeled child molestation or ephebophilia (attraction to youths) rather than pedophilia.
Pedophiles prefer opposite-sex to same-sex children 2:1. Heterosexually oriented males tend to prefer girls aged 8 to 10 yr; in most cases, the adult is known to the child. Looking or touching seems more prevalent than genital contact. Homosexually oriented males prefer boys aged 10 to 13 yr, and their acquaintanceship with the child is more casual than that of heterosexually oriented males. Bisexual adult pedophiles usually choose children < 8 yr. Exclusive pedophiles are attracted only to children; nonexclusive types may also be attracted to adults.
Pedophiles may limit their sexual activities to their own children or close relatives (incest) or may also victimize other children. Predatory pedophiles may use force and threaten to physically harm the children or their pets if they disclose the sexual abuse. The course of pedophilia is chronic and may be complicated by substance abuse or dependence, depression, marital conflict, or antisocial personality disorder.
Sexual offenses against children constitute a significant proportion of reported criminal sexual acts. The recidivism rate for homosexual pedophilia is second only to exhibitionism, ranging from 13 to 28% of those apprehended--roughly twice the rate of heterosexual pedophilia.

Id love to know what your definition of a flop is. Invincible sold 10 million copies worldwide - the only reason people say it flopped is because he's never been able to surpass the sales of Thriller - but who has? If by your definition Invincible was a flop, the Say You Will and TISL must be complete disasters.

So, I published that info. from the Merck Manual so you would know. I mean if you are going to say MJ is not a pedophile and then say "I couldn't possibly say whether or not his behaviour displays 'Classic symptoms of a paedophile'" - well, that is inconsistent as the former presumes you know what a ped. is.
But, to the current point - MJ is an adult hanging around with kids in the range that info. suggested and he exhibits control over them or their parents by buying them things. Moreover, MJ has a pattern of kids accusing him of Ped. behavior, some of which he has paid to make go away - thus a pattern exists. That is how that info. was relevant.

You're right, a pattern does exist - the parents are all after money. If your child was sexually molested would you be happy with a money settlement? I know Id want justice. Its funny how Evan Chandler wasnt too bothered about justice, as long as he got his film business up and running (which is why he approached MJ for money in the first place. MJ said no and lo and behold, the accusations begin.)

The first victim identified markings on Jackson's penis. It is hard to get away from that because MJ had no business letting anyone see his penis in his bedroom if that person was an underage child.
Plus, though the current jurors did not convict MJ as to these facts, they pretty much all said MJ was a ped. that the prosecution did not present a case strong enough to convict.
Finally, MJ had porn in his bedroom, where he entertained in some fashion these young kids, and one of their fingerprints was on the porn. I mean that is also pretty hard to get away from.
So, I think it is unfair of you to imply if not state that every person who thinks MJ is a ped. is nuts
On edit - did all of the victims ask for money as well. I know the first one and this last one did, but there were others.

1. Invincible did in fact sell 10 million copies worldwide despite what StreetAngel may think.
2. 2 out of 12 jurors thought MJ had molested boys - I would hardly describe 2 out of 12 as being 'most'.

I don't recall the other 10 being asked.

I wonder who advised him to have oral sex with Jordie Chandler in a Monaco hotel?

They directly polled all twelve on that question? I do not think so. So, do not state a fact that is not. In fact, the foreperson said "we" thought he was guilty of being a ped. but the facts of this case were too weak to convict on the exact charges. If you have proof otherwise, let's see it.
Also, you have yet to refute:
The first victim identified markings on Jackson's penis. It is hard to get away from that because MJ had no business letting anyone see his penis in his bedroom if that person was an underage child.
...
Finally, MJ had porn in his bedroom, where he entertained in some fashion these young kids, and one of their fingerprints was on the porn. I mean that is also pretty hard to get away from.
...
On edit - did all of the victims ask for money as well. I know the first one and this last one did, but there were others.
