If this was mentioned in a previous post, forgive me... I try to keep up.

This was over on the nicksfix, posted by John Kinney:

"At some of the shows I was taking photos for Stevie's tourbook, which Chris is putting together, and it should be ready by the first Stevie solo show. Thanks to the band for letting me hang around backstage with my camera. What a cool group of guys and girls this tour."

Laura

PS: Does anyone know what happened to that website where you could buy tour t-shirts and stuff? They had it up during TISL... is it gone? Jeeze, I was thinkin maybe I might want a hoodie and a tour book even if I don't get to see a show, I still like to see the tourbooks at least. Gawd, I'd hate to have to resort to EPRAY.... WAAHH! hehe

Yeah, I really want a tour book too.
The merchandise site was called Stevie Nicks Direct but it no longer exists, which is a big shame.
I don't know if they'll sell any stuff through Fan Fire. I hope they sell it somewhere anyway as I won't get to go to any of the shows, living in a non-Stevie-touring-area and all!

Okay, John's post said something about just getting back from a mini tour with the band and catching up on emails. I'm going to send him one asking if there will be extra tour merchandise available for purchase over the internet. I'll let you know when I hear back.

The tour book should be good if John Kinney is taking pictures.
All the merchandise so far looks great, I must admit.

I thought the same thing about John taking the pictures. He has taken some awesome pictures in the past and has posted them on the nicksfix. I don't know who took the pictures for the SYW tourbook. Some of them looked vaguely familiar... like fan pictures that were posted on the internet at one point. If that is what they were, that was kind of a creepy thing to do, particularly if those fans were not compensated in any way.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I think some of the photos from the SYW tourbook were screenshots or pictures from the Peacekeeper and SYW Aol Sessions thing. I thought they looked vaguely familiar too and I think that is where some of the shots came from.
My favorite thing about the SYW tourbook is the photo of SnL sitting on the floor with the guitar....I like the candid moments best.

So...Chris is putting together the tourbook.....egads.
Sorry but I am not a fan of his artwork. Evah.
(I do like the Enchanted three disc book but that is it)

The Vegas shirts?? Good Grief. My four year old could do better.

I saw John Kinney walking around with a camera at the Mansfield show. I am sure that he got some great shots. That camera had a big lens! I was jealous.

Didn't know he did the boxed set. Yeah, that wasn't a bad piece actually. Yeah, I am not looking forward to seeing what he has in store for us for The Gold Dust Tour. The name of the tour sparks so many beautiful images in my mind. I would love to do that project!

Yeah and those Vegas t-shirts were so bad! I can't believe anyone would buy one. They were like standard "insert performer's face here" shirts for Caesars. BEH!!!

I wonder if they would consider making the tour merch available online. For those people not able to attend the concerts. It's a shame to have to pay silly money on ebay

Personally, I would much prefer to see "Stevie-stuff", rather than the standard T-shirt.
Some years ago, there were shawls and the like on offer, which I would have much preferred to get than yet another T-shirt that I'll never wear.

Well folks, the answer is good for some but not others...

Here is John's reply:

"Typically the tour merchandise is only available on the tour (thus the
name). There may be an exception this tour because the people whio say
Don/Stevie won't have a chance to get a tourbook during the show. I am
trying to have them made available to the fans in those cities."

I don't understand why they would be sold to Don/Stevie concert goes when the Don/Stevie shows are not officially part of the Gold Dust Tour. Well, maybe someone will stumble across several left over boxes of tour books in another 20 years and they will be made available for $20 each on some website.

Yeah, but is the "Chris" who is mentioned Chris Nicks? If he's designing it, we can look foward to stellar photo editing, impeccable layouts and beautifully rendered graphics. :distress: No. Just kidding.

The Fleetwood Mac org knows better not to let him touch their tour books. The SYW tour book wasn't anything too special, but at least it had a somewhat attractive and consistent design.

If Chris Nicks is doing it, twenty bucks says the cover has the Lucky Charms rainbow on it. :D

Why spend the $25 on a tourbook? You've already seen it all. Here is a rundown:

-Lots of tiny Polaroid shots of Stevie's dogs... in collage.
-Lots of tiny Polaroid shots of Karen and Stevie's other sycophants...in collage.
-Lots of tiny Polaroid shots of fat crew members and unflattering candid shots of the band...in collage.
-A centerfold containing a grainy wide-angle shot of the Caesars Las Vegas stage.
-Some fragmented reprints of published "rave reviews" ...in collage.
-Lots of stock graphics and borders.
-Oh, and a couple of TISL-era pictures of Stevie... in collage.

However, I definitely wants me a tourbook if it has the Lucky Charms cover! Just in time for gay pride month!

You know me, the eternal optimist.

I still want one, to complete the collection you know. Even though the TISL one was the worst one yet, I live in hope that this one will at least (unlike the TISL tour book) have a few nice pics of Stevie. John Kinney taking the pics improves the chances of that happening, unless, as HejiraNYC said, Chris decides to put them in collage

BEH!!!Yeah, I know they weren't that great, but I bought a few. Someone told me that the back looked like a Tombstone. I guess I figured since it wasnt likely that I would have the money to go to a summer show after Vegas, that's whY I decided to buy one

I have got my California connection who is going to see her pick one up for me! As I had done this for him when Say You Will tour books weren't available around this first leg of the tour.

Well, I saw a photographer at Boston for SYW and one of his shots in the tourbook was exactly the same as mine, taken a millisecond before or after. So they did use a professional but I thought his shots sucked. Instead of using a long lense he should have just gotten really close. The lense elongates the face and Stevie's facial proportions are off in those pics. Not to mention they are fuzzy, oh I could go on. John will do a much better job. He had his camera in Mansfield.
