Yes, even Stand Back  I don't know if everyone feels the same about this song, but I really wish show would of released this song! Its so magnificant! :blob2: :)
Thats my 2 cents for the day!

I dunno if it would done well on the charts at that time in music history.

I agree  As much as I adore WH, I don't think it was made for radio, but Nothing Ever Changes would have had some serious potential.

I have to disagree with Wh, but I agree with NEC.

I have always not liked NEC - but and interestingly, I think Cher could have covered the hell out of it. I LOVE WH, but it was a bit to long and convoluted for radio. So, I am unsure how it would have done as a single,.

I really agree with you about how great this song is. Don't think you could say it would have been a single, but listening to it recently, i was reminded at what an amazing vocal performance she gives on this song. If you listen to her voice on this song she does all sorts of vocal gymnastics (I really wish she would include a few of these type of songs into her live shows - not that i can imagine her singing WH these days live!).
I can't wait for the day when she releases her albums in a remastered format!
(plus all of the unreleased extras to go along with it!)

I love the song Wild Heart. I am thinking it may not have done so great as a single in that time period, too. Plus I think I love it more because it wasn't a single.

But ... what about Sable on Blond as a single?

You know, Sable on Blond sounds a lot like Dreams to me. I think the chords in Dreams are F & G. Does anyone know what they are in Sable on Blond?

My favorite song from this album is Nothing Ever Changes, possibly my favorite from Stevie solo ever, but no Im not putting it in the single camp. The real missed oppurtunity single wise was Sable on Blonde. Wild Heart is too long.

    WTF are you talking about. You better explain yourself standie  . Cher should not be allowed to TOUCH Nothing Ever Changes with a 10 foot pole.

I disagree and think she could done it justice. I base this on a friend of mine who used to do a really really good live Cher impersonation in some club and she covered that song and it was fab.

Conversely, I do not think La Nicks does it justice. I do not care for her version of that song :sorry:

Stevie tears that song up like no other song of hers in the studio at least. It really is some rocking Stevie. And I just cant picture Cher's dancy vocals on this song.

At the time I really believed "I Will Run to You' would be the second single and was kind of surprised when it was IAF.Wild Heart is one of her great album openers and title tracks and too close to call with TISL as the greatest album opener/title track of hers. But as a single ? Too long and sprawling of an epic really .The same with TISL.

One of my fave Stevie songs ever. I actually used to fantasize (in '84) about being an Olympic skater and doing my routine to this song. All the cymbal crashes and dynamics would have been perfect for jumps, and some of the keyboard parts for spins, etc...

Oh, and Strand? Put down the pipe, and back away ... quickly, not slowly!

how horrid.

Put me in the camp that loves WH but doesn't think it would do well as a single. I adore that song, but it just doesn't scream "radio friendly" to me.

I think I Will Run to You would have made a great single! If I remember correctly, Nightbird didn't chart too high as a single? I am one of those that isn't crazy about the song and I would even say it probably shouldn't have been a single ...) Out of all the choices here, including my original of Sable on Blond, I think I Will Run to You would have ranked the highest ... it's a good song and it has the duet factor to boot.

I love Wild Heart, but the only problem I think it would have had being a single, is they would have cut it down in length, and the "Wild Heart wail" would have been cut out and that's the best part!

I agree with ya there. I Will Run To You is great, I cannot believe it was left off of Enchanted. While I love Nightbird, it's a little too magic-fairie-dusty for it to have been a successful single.

Other than "Stand Back" & "Sable On Blond(e)", there really isn't anything on Wild Heart that was "radio friendly" (AM or "Hit" radio, that is...of course, many hip FM stations played the crap outta various songs on the album).

Wild Heart has always been one of my absolute favorite songs ever. I love it. The whole album is an all-time fave for me.

On Street Angel, i think Kick It should have been a single. One radio station played it a few times and it sounded great on the air.

Where's the barf emoticon??? Sorry, but I can't stand Kick It....I always thought Listen to the Rain would have been a great single...and I know a lot of people hate that song, to each his own! :)

Wild Heart as a single would have been interesting. I agree, it's a little choppy to be radio friendly, but it's still "an epic" of a song, as Tom Petty would say....great vocals on it!
