GH '88 Survivor Rounds 3-6 (maybe)

[ontheEdgeof17]

Well, if you wake up and don't want to smile, it's because Don't Stop has ran it's course and it's been eliminated with 13 votes.

There was a tie for second place removal (6 votes each). The "rules" say I should go on previous votes...which means that Everywhere is killed off....due to the 2 votes it got first round.

-Big Love: 6 votes
-Seven Wonders had 3 votes
-Over My Head : 1 vote
-Little Lies: 1 vote
-ALAYF: 1 vote

Here's the leftovers:

1. Rhiannon
2. GYOW
3. Hold Me
4. Gypsy
5. You Make Loving Fun
6. As Long As You Follow
7. Dreams
8. Say You Love Me
9. Tusk
10. Little Lies
11. Sara
12. Big Love
13. Over My Head
14. Seven Wonders

Vote for one song only. Rounds 3-6 would be the last rounds where two songs will be eliminated. yada yada. blah blah. yackety smackety.

Ah well, just further proof that my taste in music is better than everyone else's. ;)

[Johnny Stew]

*goes back to her corner to sob about ALAYF's imminent departure*I'm going to be inconsolable if "ALAYF" goes so quickly. :distress:
Let's drown our sorrows, Mari... first round's on me!

(Oh, and in the future, I think I'm going to pick the one song I most want to see eliminated and then beg people to not vote against it. They always do the opposite of what I ask, so it just might work!)

[Mari]

Here with that liquor, Johnny. Don't Stop Drinking Until Tomorrow...http://techhelpers.net/e4u/drink/trink39.gif

Hmm.. not too sure about your strategy though..

[HomerMcvie]

Aren't you the one who voted for Tusk? Yeah, I thought so. :woohoo:
And I love Tusk. This has never been a game about your favorite song. It's been ABOUT protecting what's LEFT of your favorite songs! If you're gonna make an omelet, you've got to break a few eggs. I counted, and realized the ONLY way I could save Hold Me was to vote Tusk. :sorry:

[dissention]

Good, because Hold Me is one of my least favorites. :D

I do want a Chris song to win, though. Notably Over My Head or Say You Love Me.

Over My Head

[AliP]

[Mari]

*holds hurting head from liquor*

I can't vote of Hold Me. As much as I'd LOVE to take revenge on some people..   I just like it too much. And, I think Christine deserves to win one of these things finally.

so...

Dreams

DIE CHIFFONHEADS, DIE!

In being a drama queen you beat the Chiffonheads 4-0. :p

thank you! I was tought by the best.. :p :p

[shackin'up]

And I love Tusk. This has never been a game about your favorite song. It's been ABOUT protecting what's LEFT of your favorite songs! If you're gonna make an omelet, you've got to break a few eggs. I counted, and realized the ONLY way I could save Hold Me was to vote Tusk. :sorry:

So you vote off a song that's superior to the one you want to save. Unbelievable that even litle lies wins it over tusk for you. Actually, I don't believe that.

MY vote: Little lies. blergh.

[skcin]

I was thinking Dreams, but I think I like it better that Hold Me.

So I'll vote out Hold Me this round.

[WildInTheWind]

Hold Me......

[msLinds]

I vote to get Rid of "Over My Head".

:wavey: :blob1: :blob2: :]  :D ;)

[mondaymornin1]

What's up with all the Christine hate?

Guess I'm guilty too...voting off one of her songs to save another one of her songs...

Seems pointless to try to save "Hold Me," so my vote is for Dreams. Maybe that'll be a tie-breaker vote somewhere down the road.

[jbrownsjr]

Dreams

what u had and what u lost

[shackin'up]

What's up with all the Christine hate?

I love Christine. I hate Little lies.

[Hippocampus]

Over My Head

[ryan8472]

Hold Me

Booooooooooring............

[bretonbanquet]

Little Lies

[ontheEdgeof17]

The wonderful McVie/Buckingham duet, Hold Me, couldn't be held enough. It slipped out of the running with 9 votes.

The "first single we ever had from the, uh, White Fleetwood Mac Album," also known as Over My Head, is done with 7 votes.

-Dreams:4 votes
-Little Lies: 2 votes
-YMLF: 2 votes
-SYLM: 1 vote

Round 6 Songs Are:

1. Rhiannon
2. GYOW
3. Gypsy
4. You Make Loving Fun
5. Dreams
6. Say You Love Me
7. Little Lies
8. Sara

THE LAST ROUND THAT TWO SONGS WILL BE ELIMINATED.

I will be gone tomorrow night....YAY. I'll calculate Sunday evening.

[dudden22]

Say You Love Me :wavey:

[equeen102289]

As Long As You Follow

Hate this song

[KarmaContestant]

Whoa....you people voting for Dreams had better watch out. :D I'll tell Stevie and she'll follow you down 'till the sound of her voice will haunt you. You'll be cursed to hear Dreams in every elevator, supermarket and record store you go to.

This round (can't believe I missed the last one entirely  ) my vote goes to Say You Love Me.

I love Christine, I really do, but her best songs just didn't make it to the radio, and thus a Greatest Hits album. It's not her fault, I know...I blame Warner Brothers (and their sister Dot).

[dudden22]

Whoa....you people voting for Dreams had better watch out. :D

Oh yeah, they are going down

[dudden22]

As Long As You Follow

Hate this song

I believe "As Long As You Follow" was voted off a few rounds ago.

[amber]

Sara. *ducks*

[KarmaContestant]

Sara. *ducks*

Curious that you say this. I was going to put in my post that I predict Sara will be the next one to go after this round....but I didn't want to be flamed. It isn't really that great of a song, lyrically it's rather odd. I say this even though I love it. Then again, there are many things I love, but do not like.

I'm sure no one will flame you. However, there are a lot of Sara lovers out there, so....

Say You Love Me

[LikeAWillow]

I'm gonna have to go with Say You Love Me, although I do like this song, I don't love it.

~Marissa~

[GateandGarden]

Dreams

Heartbeats never drive me mad. :D

[GateandGarden]

And, I think Christine deserves to win one of these things finally.
Didn't she win the Tango survivor?

[amber]

Dreams

Heartbeats never drive me mad. :D
Then why'd you vote for it???
JK - :xoxo:

wait a minute hillary...stay with dreams awhile...said you didn't like it, but I never told you 'bout the smackdown....

*dork* :D

[mondaymornin1]

Dreams gets my vote again. I'm tired of thunder and rainin.

F*#!*rs. Can't believe Hold Me is gone. That video was my intro to Lindsey's hotness and Chris and Stevie's beauty. Then I figured out that they sang all those other cool songs I liked when I was a little girl. Ah well.

[GateandGarden]

Then why'd you vote for it???
JK - :xoxo:I voted against it because heartbeats apparently drive Stevie mad in that song. So wrong.

wait a minute hillary...stay with dreams awhile...said you didn't like it, but I never told you 'bout the smackdown....

*dork* :DIt has actually grown on me. I love her voice in it. It's got some cool lyrics, if I'm willing to forgive the heartbeat thing. I still like the other songs that are left more, though.

[Hawkeye]

Sara for sure, and it better go this round.

[amber]

Sara for sure, and it better go this round.
Or you'll bust out your mighty can of Whoopass?

[Dark Angel]

Dreams

I like it, but the songs that are left are so much better.

[GateandGarden]

I've never seen that many of those things in a row!!! Kudos!!!! :laugh:What a thing to get praise for!

[CreepingDeath]

Say You Love Me

You know I really do love Christine, despite the fact that I keep voting for her songs. :o

[dissention]

Dreams.

It's so sad to see Christine's simple pieces of pop perfection systematically picked out one by one in almost every one of these things. :o

Wait. Wait. Wait. and Wait.
You are voting for Dreams before Sara????!!!!! Where is Diss, what have you done with him????? *evil fiend*
I know we're all sick of it, but if you just think of the album track....
:distress:
I thought I knew you.....
Plus, Sara will be stronger against some things in the end, best to get rid of it now!

[SteveMacD]

I vote for Sara

I want Sara gone VERY badly, but Dreams has more votes so far and I wanted to ensure that Christine's songs were safe this time, espeically since Say You Love Me is one of my favorites. :o

Ooooohhhh. okay. Damn my simple non sneaky brain!!! I want SYLM to be saved, too. But then, I voted before. So then, does SYLM have second most?
I stand Outfoxed, and Outstrategized. *bows humbly*. :woohoo: :xoxo:
Sara will be stronger against others, though.

[GypsySorcerer]

Dreams to save SYLM. That is all.

[amber]

Dreams to save SYLM. That is all.
Okay, though, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not sure I like SYLM more than Dreams. It's a really close call, but....mmmmmm...that's like, a super tie. It's the tie to end all ties. Erm, if Diss and Krista had voted for Sara, though....maybe it wouldn't come down to that??? Hrmmm????
Just saying....
*pats self on back for thinking way far ahead*

I'm hoping that Greg comes in on his white horse to cast a vote for Sara so that it's the second song to go.

[AliP]

Dreams

be gone. again.

People who ride white horses do not vote for Sara....

In my dreams they do.

[amber]

In my dreams they do.
right, that's how it should be, but....hey, I dunno. My motto is, Never mix a Unicorn (white horse) and a setlist from Stevie. But that's just me.
What comes out?
Sara!!!!!

[golden braid]

Little Lies

[amber]

Little Lies
:xoxo:
That's my next vote.

[vermicious knid]

Say You Love Me

[ontheEdgeof17]

Say You Love Me

:sorry: diss.

[Hippocampus]

Say You Love Me

[HomerMcvie]

Sara. Die bitch.

[face of glass]

"Say You Love Me". And after this round I'll be playing for the McVie camp.

[shackin'up]

Didn't she win the Tango survivor?

yeah with the worst song ever.

My vote: Little Lies. Blerrghh

[Mari]

Well then she deserves to win one of these things again.

Dreams

I fear not.

[msLinds]

I vote to get Rid of 'Sara".

:wavey:  :blob2: :] ;)

[TheBlueLamp]

Go Your Own Way. Not that it matters this round

[Dreammms]

little lies

[WildInTheWind]

Say You Love Me

[sodascouts]

You Make Loving Fun

[bretonbanquet]

I love so many of Chris's songs, but Little Lies has never been one of my favourites :(

[thepoetinmyhear]

It's too late to change things, but I believe if Diss's vote had been for Sara this round would have seen Sara taken out. SYLM was pretty much a goner by the time Diss voted having already garnered five votes, in previous rounds anything over seven tended to disappear and that early in the game it seemed likely that SYLM would get at least three more.

So then it comes down to dreams vs. sara which as Diss pointed out, dreams had more votes when he voted... by one. His vote would have tied them and then the next vote that came in also being for sara would have shifted the herd mentality over and I think Sara would have ended with more votes. As it stands before my vote, sara and dreams would have been tied if not for Diss.

As per my subject line, this is a vote to remove Dreams

[trackaghost]

I vote Little Lies

[strandinthewind]

Little Lies to go

[Glittermoondust]

My vote is for You Make Loving Fun--YAWN!!

I guess, for me, these polls really have little to do with finding the actual best FLEETWOOD MAC song and more to do with so-and-so's favorite singer/songwriter. I mean, to be voting for "Say You Love Me" or "You Make Loving Fun" so early on is pretty crazy. I think it's odd that Stevie has all four of her legitimate hit singles from the US version of the 1988 set still on the list, where Christine has one axed, and Lindsey only has one left (one that should be in the top three, if we're being honest). For me, "Say You Love Me" is probably one of THE best examples of a great "Rumours" era Mac song. It has the amazing harmonies, it's catchy, and it has a lot of interesting things going on in terms of production. This would be one of the last songs I'd vote off.

Well said. Say You Love Me isn't just one of Christine's best songs, it's one of Fleetwood Mac's best songs. To have it gone so early would be criminal, but it's all based on who has more fans. Christine, unfortunately, doesn't have that many compared to Lindsey and Stevie, which is a dirty shame.

Well, I'm a fan of everyone at some point, and SYLM is clearly one of the best songs left.

Hmmm... I thought voting off Seven Wonders was crazy--but I guess we all have our own likes and dislikes. I think I'm just tired of You Make Loving Fun like others are tired of Dreams...... When Rumours first came out I couldn't get enough of that song (Dreams)..... Now I just LOVE Say You Love Me and am quite surprised also that it is getting so many votes........ its all in fun though  Trust me--there are a lot of songs that I just love that get bashed to death on these boards!!

Believe me, I understand. I could never hear a lot of songs in my top five ever again and be happy. But, I guess my problem is that there are just certain songs that really define this band. One got voted off VERY early: "Don't Stop." Sure, I don't need to hear this song ever again. But of all the Fleetwood Mac songs ever released, this is one that is probably their most historically significant song ever. Our grandchildren will read about this in releation to the Baby Boomer generation being handed the torch, so to speak, with the U.S. presidency. Yet, it was voted off pretty early. For me, the top five should have been (in no particular order) "Rhiannon," "Don't Stop," GYOW, SYLM, and "Dreams." There are better songs, to be sure, but I think those five are the songs that really define Fleetwood Mac.

[wondergirl9847]

I've never been a fan of SYLM, so that's my reasoning for voting it off. I adore Little Lies and hope it's one of the last to go. I am voting by saying to myself, "Self, which of these songs do you like the least?", not saying "Self, which Christine song can I vote off." LOL

I know - I LOVE all of these songs. So, it is a which one of the greats do I like better

[Hawkeye]

SYLM is one of very favorite Fleetwood Mac songs. And Id say that Say You Love Me and Dreams are like cousin songs. They are like the definition of Fleetwood Mac's smooth flowing, heavey harmony songs.

[GypsySorcerer]

I prefer "Hold Me" and "Over My Head" over YMLF, but both of those were voted off. :( I don't think SYLM belongs on the chopping block yet. It deserves to be top three.
