Dissing Nicole at the MTV movie awards? The mother of his children? How childish...

Oh yeah, and he does for Scientology what Mel Gibson does for Christianity .

I missed where he dissed Nicole - what did he say?

In any event, he is getting weirder & weirder with each passing day. I'm sick of hearing about him, his movies, "TomKat", her movies, blah blah blah. I may have to skip the movie awards show so I don't barf.

He's annoying. I am so tired of seeing him and Katie Holmes every time I turn on the TV or pick up a magazine. Nicole is better off without him. :D

He didn't say anything. He requested to be moved away from where she was sitting. Apparently they were sitting nine seats away from each other or something. Uh, nine seats away is not sitting right next to someone. Basically the story made it seem like Tom and Katie were avoiding Nicole at every turn at the awards ceremony. But it also seems as if they were avoiding everyone and acting totally cultish. I'm sorry, those two are just WEIRD!!

Personally I've always found him annoying. I think he's just showing his true colours now.
Some people are saying it's because he fired his publicist and replaced him with his own sister.

Anyway here's a good article about how annoying he's become

Cannot stand the man...and I liked Katie, but now, this whole deal is just...UGH. Die, relationship, DIE!!

The fact he's going on and on, throwing this sham in everyone's face and Nicole's especially...is disgusting...and childish. Grow up, Tom.

Challenged by Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush with a puffball question about how familiar he could possibly be with his new passion’s body of work, he burbled, “I’ve seen Dawson Creek!”

So have I!!! Can I date Pacey!?!

"But not me. God, and L. Ron Hubbard, knows, Tom doesn’t need my help, yet I also have an irrepressible urge: to praise him. Can I just say that I find something both loonily sweet and sneakily admirable about the way Cruise is now comporting himself? It’s a great performance, with the electricity that’s been lacking from so many celebrity scandals of the past few years. It’s out of control, and that’s not a bad thing. Others may find Cruise creepy, but I’m enjoying his turn as the Aggressively Romantic Dork, a role that exerts its own wobbly charm."

Uh...excuse me? This reporter BETTER be kidding around.

What a douche...

TomKat is the most annoying "couple" by far that has ever graced the pages of a magazine. It's incredibly phony and she is being sucked into the other side...I'd be willing to place bets on that. Creepy ass scientologist :distress: If this relationship isn't fake, she's an incredibly foolish girl.

:D :D :D

"He’s an actor—and a good one. If his public image is spinning out of control, his screen work is stronger than ever. Last year, Cruise deftly executed a skillful thespian stretch as a silver-haired hit man in Michael Mann’s Collateral; he contributed a sharp performance to 2003’s otherwise jagged Last Samurai; and he locked into just the right mixture of paranoia and athleticism in Spielberg’s 2002 Minority Report. I haven’t seen War of the Worlds yet, but I know that Cruise’s acting is increasingly subtle and mature—he’s moving into middle age as a man who’s looking for roles that challenge his eager-pleaser image, an ambitious streak that only bodes well for the future. Michael Mann told me, “I never worked with a bigger star who was more ‘up’ for subverting what people think about him.”"

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your glowing review. I ABSOLUTELY ADORE Christian Bale. Cannot wait for this new installment. And I agree, Katie Holmes is no actress. She should really just stick to Dawson's Creek caliber t.v. shows and leave the real acting to the professionals.

Unfortunately for her I believe the latter to be the case. She's happy now which is cool but I don't see that lasting. Nicole is cool so for her to leave Tom I'm thinking that things with Scientology were just too creepy for her. Total speculation on my part, of course. But sometimes, I just know these things.

I saw Nicole on one of those entertainment shows and she said she would like to have a body like J. Lo. or Angelina. She's got a great bod but I guess she would rather be curvy which I found interesting. Is anyone ever satisfied with how they look?

Wow. I think she is stunning. She's got a very lithe, beautifully classic frame, a little on the rail thin side, but I guess she's naturally that thin if she's pining for a curvier body.

I, of course, hate it when people make a comment on something unrelated to the award they are getting or their invitation to present. I think it is tasteless and opportunistic. I mean if you are that powerful and that rich, rent some of your own airtime and make a national commercial. Don't instead sponge off an event where you were invited to be for some completely other reason. AND - SS did appear in a sep. commercial - though I am unsure if she actually paid for the airtime herself; I think she was just the spokesperson.

War of the otherworldly: Cruise's faith in Scientology threatens film

The Independent/June 3, 2005
By Andrew Gumbel

But Cruise's recent behaviour has been so spectacularly off-the-wall that it has prompted senior executives at Paramount Studios to call crisis meetings and consider cancelling the third instalment of the Mission Impossible series, due to shoot next month.
...More recently, Cruise has used press interviews to promote Narconon, a drug rehabilitation programme invented by Scientology's founder, L Ron Hubbard, which has been thoroughly trashed by mainstream drug-addiction experts.
...According to members of the church, he has reached the sixth of eight Operating Thetan levels - he is trusted enough to know almost all of the "secret truth of the universe".

Not so fast. They aren't going against any express wishes unless the producers request that they not make any political statements of any kind. They do not make those rules often, regardless of what the right wing or pundits claim, so the celebrities are not violating any rules if none are made. The fact is that it is a party for Hollywood, thrown by Hollywood, attended by Hollywood. They can do whatever they want and the last I heard, ABC had nothing written in their broadcast contract that the celebrities were not free to say what they want politically. If viewers do not like it, turn the dial, that's what it's there for. No one is forcing you to watch the commies and socialists get praised for the acting talents.

I am pretty sure the producers of the AA request no political statments be made. I rememeber reading that somewhere - but do not care enough to look it up.

Also, I think it is hysterical that you berate anyone with a yellow sticker on their car by calling them false and without good intent though you know perhaps a handful lof those millions, yet some star makes a crack at an award ceremony and you are in heaven.

Narconon is dangerous and I don't understand why the government allows those facilities to even operate. Scientology itself is considered a cult in many European countries, for cripes sake. The "church" used to operate glorified concentration camps.

I have very personal experience with Narconon. My husband just spent 6 months at a Narconon facility in Georgia. We had no idea that it was a Scientology based program until he was already in it. My mother-in-law paid them close to $20,000. It's such a nightmare; I won't bore you all with the details. Just know that Tom Cruise IS indeed a total ****head for pimping Narconon.

The saunas are bad enough, but then when they start with the vitamin injections, they're lucky they don't kill these poor people. I'm sorry this happened to you. Gee, seeing how great two was, I can hardly wait  J.J. Abrams...why?!?

Cruise Reaches Deal on 'Mission: Impossible 3' (http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050608/ap_on_en_mo/people_cruise_2)

LOS ANGELES - After more than a week of haggling over costs, Tom Cruise and Paramount Pictures have reached a deal that will allow "Mission: Impossible 3" to move ahead with filming in Italy next month.

Paramount Pictures chairman and chief executive officer Brad Grey announced the agreement in a statement Tuesday. Filming will start July 18 on the third installment in the action-adventure series, which is a remake of a popular 1960s TV show.

The film will be directed by J.J. Abrams, who joined the project last August, and will be produced by Cruise and his partner, Paula Wagner.

"Tom's history with Paramount has made for one of Hollywood's most successful relationships; the opportunity to continue our collaboration with him on `Mission: Impossible 3' is everything anyone in show business could hope for," Grey said.

The deal fell into place after Cruise agreed to adjust his lucrative profit participation deal and shave a budget that had swelled to as much as $185 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The movie will feature Cruise and co-stars Ving Rhames, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Michelle Monaghan and Philip Seymour Hoffman. It is set for release on May 5, 2006.

Abrams is one of the creators of ABC's "Lost" and "Alias."

The first "Mission: Impossible" movie came out in 1996 and was directed by Brian De Palma. John Woo directed "Mission: Impossible II," which was released in 2000.

I bought the import DVD, too, but I think the quality is pretty bad. The sound is even sped up in places, I noticed, and I much prefer the 90 minute version to the two hour one (the two hour one gives way too much away and really spoils it, imo). But it also seems as if they were avoiding everyone and acting totally cultish. I'm sorry, those two are just WEIRD!!

1996. You should get it, it's a ****ing riot. Laura Dern is a junkie who discovers she's pregnant, but then gets roped in by the pro-lifers, only to be roped in by the pro-choice groups later on. The whole movie is about the two groups fighting over her fetus. Great cast, too. Swoosie Kurtz and Kelly Preston are hysterical as the pro-choice lesbians.

The best scene has to be when the pro-lifers force Dern to watch a film on abortions, wherein it says that fetuses are just thrown into dumpsters like trash. She walks out of the room and says "I've slept in dumpsters. Maybe I slept on babies."

Those hotel rooms are horrific!

I'm not a Crowe fan (I don't think I've seen any of his movies), and he did a stupid a$$ thing (agree with strand, WHY not go somewhere else to call collect or something?! Sheebus!), but if I had to choose between him and Cruise....I'm going with Crowe.

How about that fringe on those HORRID curtains. I actually stayed in a room similar to the green room once  Talk about NOT what you want to see with a hangover

Let's talk about the wallpaper! My mother wanted something similar to that until I drugged her and plastered her living room instead.

Plaster, esp. when correctly done, is sublime!

I, in general, hate, despise, and loath all wallpaper - the only kind I like is fabric with padding - for abvious reasons, mine should be leather

You'd kill to have me do your place, then. I do killer venetian plaster finishes and I even wax and sand them twice over. ;)

I don't like fabric, personally, beacuase it's not sanitary. Leather is fine, though, I'm big on leather. I had someone once who wanted fabric put on their kitchen walls. Yes, they smoked crack.

I may marry you just for that!!!!! Now, if I could just get you to like mahogany paneling in my library

Can't you see it - - you having all your snooty designer friends over to our abode and then you point to the library and go - it had to be here just like Frazier's father's chair, which actually is more attractive  Then, the camera pans to me slamming the herringbone Honduran Mahogany doors with the Baldwin Brass harware that look like this:

BTW - that hot piece of Scottie lovin' is Maggie the Moo Cow (dec. 5/2004)

With THAT hardware  actually, whole presentation is not seen. There is a fan light above it, which adds a formal tone. Here is the whole thing:

and you would move into some International Modern white cube with an orange dot in the middle of it and I'd have to pay for it

Actually, I am not mad about that house, though I did live there. The thing about that house was every single finish, every line, every detail was by a highly touted master architect and executed by a master carpenter. From that point of view, it was superb.
