ok... so i just got back from Mohegan Sun and it was yet another amazing show from Ms. Nicks... I got to the place kinda late, so i missed most of Don's set, but I got to see all of Stevie's (thank god i made it)....

She was FULL of energy yet again tonight... Stand Back was a big highlight.. she spun a million times, did the high kick again, and was really rocking out.. Rhiannon, Enchanted, and Edge Of Seventeen really stood out as well...during Edge, she hunched down with her knees and belted out the scream while pulling down her mic stand... it was HOT!
she is REALLY singing out on these songs now, and changing up the words a bit, as if they were new to her... great to see

The arena itself wasn't too bad either... i believe it was Dissention who called it "the worst venue ever", but i didn't think so.... i guess it was average.. the sound system and the acoustics were very good, so i wasn't disappointed at all...

Stevie did wear the Frankenboks the whole night, however.. no boots for tonight's show...

One interesting little comment though that she made tonight that made my jaw drop... when she was doing the band introductions, she refered to Waddy as "the man in my life"  i was like "whaaaa?" She also made a comment very similar to that in Philly on friday and refered to him as "my husband"... i'm getting the impression here that there might in fact be a little something going on between those two... she certainly seems as giddy as a school girl lately and you have to kind of wonder as to why...

Anyway, the crowd was really into it tonight.. cheered very loud for her to the point where Stevie said "what a great crowd you are!!!"

.. it was definately a fun night at Mohegan Sun :wavey:

Sounds like another good show. Any set changes? Circle still in? Desperado back or gone again? Details vampire, details!

 ... he's married??? oh ok.. well, maybe all that talk is just yet another Stevie obsession with a man that is already taken... :D

In Philadelphia she also went on to say that she was one of his "many wives" and that "we're all married to each other" (meaning that they're a tight-knit crew).

Glad you had a great time!!

Her set was the same... but Don added Desperado back in, and did one more song after End Of Innocence.. not sure of what the name of it was, since i am not a big Don fan

Thanks for the review. First things first. Why the Boks when she's doing the high kicks and spinning a million times? Gawd, I really wanna see those boots..
The Edge scream sounds hot! I hope she keeps it.

So, Waddy's the man in her life? He's married? Maybe he's separated? On a few other threads, peeps said she looked really chummy with him but . Not that that's a bad thing. Stevie needs love (Come could so be about her, it's been so long..everytime you don't.. ) This could also explain Vegas.. Anyway, you go Stevie!

Just hope he's not married..

Waddy still had the wife in Vegas...he was one of the band members who brought the entire family. I think he has three kids and they were all in Vegas.
So, unless they split in the last month and Stevie suddenly fell for someone she has known since 1971, I don't thin it is Waddy. He is her musical director and pretty much running the ship as far as her show goes..so it makes sense.

Maybe it's the waiter?? : > )

Or...maybe Stevie is just happy in general?

Or, perhaps she has more than ONE shot of tequila before coming onstage nowadays.

Damn, I want it to be Chris Issack!!!! Rawr.

Liquid's review was right on. The show started at 7:30 but was supposed to start at 7:00 according to the box office. TM really screwed up and 8:00 was posted on the actual tickets so alot of people were late. Henley's set was terrific. I'm not a big fan of his but the songs he sang were well chosen and the audience loved them. He did Desperado (it was an audience sing-a-long LOL) and the End of Innocence, restoring the original set. He also came back out for a solo encore. I don't know the name of the song, but his fans all sang along and it had a great R&R sound to It. Henley's band was EXCELLENT, very tight. You can tell he must be a perfectionist! Too bad he didn't introduce them. He seems kind of stiff, not the kind of guy you would want to bring to a party, the exact opposite of Stevie!
Stevie came out for Hotel California and thunder struck...the place went wild!!! Not only has she regained her youthful figure but she was so full of energy. I would love to know how she did that in such a short time (last I saw her was in September). Her voice was powerful. I had front row seats on the side/front of the stage one riser up so I could really see on stage and just off-stage. Stevie was early for an intro and as she stood off to the side of the stage she did a little dance to the beat of the music. Once her set was over I saw Stevie off to the side of the stage hugging Jana and Sharon like happy school girls.
It's hard to say what the highlights of the show were because all the songs were unbelievable. I loved the high kick during Standback. Beauty and the Beast was very emotional. She wore her hair up and a black velvet cape with a high stand up collar. She looked regal. Circle Dance was exceptional. Stevie and Don should record and release this one. Stevie introduced it as one of her favorites and said it was written by Bonnie Riat about her (Bonnie's) father and she asked Don to do it with her. Their performance almost brought me to tears.
During EO17 the audience tried their hardest to get to the stage. Security was very tight. They let the first row dance in front of their seats but not approach the stage. Guards were posted at the aisles along with a cop. A little much...were they going to shoot anyone who got through?!? I watched numerous Stevie fans plead to get through to the stage only to be sent back to their seats. However there is no stopping all those determined fans and as some pleaded with security others took advantage of the distraction and made it to the stage. Soon the guards had no choice but to be overwhelmed by the front couple of rows! Stevie looked like she loved every minute of it. The stage was high and she really had to bend over to shake hands. She had her own security guy squatting next to her making sure she didn't get pulled off the stage and drown in that sea of love!
The encore duets were fantastic. They finished with So You Want to Be a R&R Star. I know this isn't a Stevie or Henley song but this one rocked the house.
OK OK I know I'm getting long winded, but you asked for details.
From my vantage point I could see off stage, Carlos Rios sat and watched all of Henley's set. He was joined off stage by most of Stevie's band including Jana and Sharon during the duets that Stevie sang on with Don in his set. They looked like a little family as they watched Stevie perform. Stevie introduced her band during her set and had a little something to say about everyone. She introduced Waddy as the man in her life which I think made everyone wonder! She also said he was her music director. He was all over the stage behind her during her performances keeping the music with the individual band members. In all honesty her band was not as together as Don's but before you throw anything at me, let me say that individually they were great. Taku did several great solo intros with her new drummer and the keyboard guy was exceptional on Beauty and the Beast. The band just seemed to need moe practice together? I don't know, but maybe it was in contrast to Henley's remarkable band. Stevie introduced Carlos as her dear friend who knew her when she was really down and helped bring her up. She called Sharon "Sharona" and said that she asked Sharon to be in a "little solo band many years ago" and she has been with her ever since. She introduced Jana as the one who shares the love, or something like that...endearing. She had nice things to say about each one during their introductions, which was in direct contrast to the lack of anything from Henley on his band.
Did I say that Stevie was radiant? That is the most memorable thing to me about this concert. She was powerful, energetic and HAPPY! She smiled big contageous smiles all evening. She smiled at the audience and when she turned around to air guitar or air drum with her band she smiled at them. She went back stage after each couple of songs to change...which cracked me up...she's such a girlie girl! During the encores she wore that black and beige dress from the Vegas show with a biege shawl. She looked beautiful dressed in something other than black.
Don't miss this show. Don Henley did a great job and you will enjoy his music. Stevie looked like a woman having a love affair and the love affair was definately with her audience!

Stevie needs love

This was hinted at in another thread yesterday, but I think Stevie has love...and it's not a man.

And thanks for the great review! These write-ups have gotten me from planning to skip this tour to saving my pennies for a couple west coast shows.

A couple of more tidbits (sorry I keep thinking of these details and need to share). Stevie was playful during this show. At one point she was at her mike, the lights went on quickly and off again and she said "oh we're in the dark, that's ok, I can sing in the dark and chuckled". At the end of the show Stevie, Henley and her band took their bow in a long row,arm in arm. It reminded me of a bow after a broadway show until they started playing footsie. Stevie started it with those diamond studded rebocks! I saw this happen during the Say You Will concerts too.

Great review. Exactly how I felt about the show, especially this part . . . "Henley's band was EXCELLENT, very tight. You can tell he must be a perfectionist! Too bad he didn't introduce them. He seems kind of stiff, not the kind of guy you would want to bring to a party, the exact opposite of Stevie!

I didn't notice any chemistry b/t Don & Stevie, but she had chemistry with her band & the audience. Philly being the first show, we didn't know what to expect, but all of the sudden the crowd when crazy when Don was singing Hotel California & my husband said, "What's going on?" & I said that Stevie came out.

And I was kind of shocked seeing Stevie hugging all over Don since the only one that I'd seen her hugging live & on tape was Lindsey. She was very playful, very flirty with Don, & I guess he just didn't get it, or wasn't interested in playing back. At least Lindsey does play back & they do have a certain chemistry on stage. This is just my observation.

So does anyone know the set order for each of them on this night.. who played what and the order?

Well, i do know Don's encore was 'I Will Not Go Quietly' for whoever had asked; Stevie's set was: OTR/Dreams; Rhiannon; Enchanted; Gold Dust Woman, CD and SDMHA with Don; StandBack; BATB: Edge of 17. Then the encores were Leather and Lace and So You Wanna Be A Rock N Roll Star.

Very exciting and fulfilling show to attend, 'Hotel California' alone was worth the price of admission; Stevie soared on it and the place went crazy with applause at each verse she sang, and her 'the wolf is always at the door' on 'New York Minute' gave me chills-- i was thinking of this on Wednesday and then read the idiot review in The Hartford Courant which faulted Stevie on those 2 exact songs- with the 'i'm clever' critic blasting Stevie's "tonal quality'' on 'HC' and comparing her to 'nearly lapsing into becoming a (singing) Katharine Hepburn on ''NYM"- he was just so off, those 2 songs were Stevie's vocal highpoint of the concert! i just dismissed the whole review of '2 80s rockers show their age', which didn't capture what went on at the venue at all. I do feel the piano was too "plunky" on 'Beauty And The Beast' and took away from Stevie's fine reading of it; the pianist is excellent but his playing was too plodding on BATB; it threw Stevie off a little holding the extended note on 'i've changed' though she took a deep breath and recovered and held it on the 2nd try....she has some new, very energetic vocal 'words she punches' during 'Enchanted' which makes this the best 'Enchanted' i've heard from her yet, on this tour. A very fine higher-register note was held at the very end of 'Rhiannon' but the place was screaming so loud i can't remember as much detail as i'd like. what i loved so much about 'Hotel Cal' and 'NYM' was that for the first time in so long, Stevie is singing way up in her higher register and sounding so close to her 'Rumours'/'Tusk' era voice, she CAN do it and it improves her sound so much! During her solo set i think the lowered keys of the songs returned pretty much, most notably on SDMHA, and hearing the notes she hit with such finesse on HC and NYM made the return to her lower range seem needless. She did introduce Waddy as ''the man in my life" and was very up and high energy. A wonderful concert.
