Jillette Names Daughter Moxie CrimeFighter Sat Jun 4,10:39 PM ET

NEW YORK - Comedian/magician Penn Jillette's latest stunt did not involve his usual sidekick, Teller: He became the father of a baby girl.

Jillette, 50, and his wife Emily, 39, welcomed Moxie CrimeFighter Jillette on Friday, according to publicist Glenn Schwartz. It was the first child for the couple, who married last year.

"We chose her middle name because when she's pulled over for speeding she can say, `But officer, we're on the same side,'" Jillette explained. "`My middle name is CrimeFighter.'"

The typically mute Teller had no comment on the new arrival.

Penn & Teller currently star in their own series on Showtime, and headline nightly in Las Vegas at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

A rare occasion indeed. ;)

And one to be savored. ;)

This has got to be a prank. No one in their right mind would name their kid that. NO ONE. You can bet your ass that if it is true, that poor kid is not only going to despise those quacks she has for parents, but she's going to legally change her name when she hits 18.

I thought it had a bizarre charm at first, but it sounds too much like a short form of amoxicillin.

For ppl who don't know their food and drink history, Moxie was a soft drink back around the turn of the century. Unfortunately, I've read that it tasted like ass, so it didn't last long.
That's where the Moxie references come from.

what was in it? Ass? It musta been fiery, for the whole phrase "She's got Moxie" to come up around it. Home distilled? Everclear? What?

Coke and Pepsi stayed around, while Moxie didn't(on a large scale). Apparently, you can still buy/order this stuff in New England.
" The word Moxie is the only proper name that has made it to the dictionary as a noun synonymous with having "spunk" or "guts"( if you ever tasted it, you would instantly know why!). It's still common to hear of someone as having "a lot of Moxie"."
I didn't see exactly what made it taste like ass, AMber. Sorry. :D

Wow, I didn't know that us New Englanders were the only ones subjected to that disgusting drink. You guys are lucky, then, because it's ****ing gross. It's very big in Polish grocery stores, too.

Well, everyone has one. So, if you're the adventurous type, well, unfortunately, some things are unavoidable. :wavey: :wavey: :wavey: :sorry:
Course, that's why they make liquor!
