the weather here is so tragic...rain, thunder and the occasional tornado-like wind...on days like these it seems that I play Outside the Rain and How Still My Love (album versions) over and over...on sunny days I love EO17, Stand Back and Rhiannon (Live album version)

what do you play on rainy days versus gorgeous days?

Think About It is a great sunny day song.

Crappy day - Doing The Best That I Can, Somebody Stand By Me

Today is a CRAPPY DAY! It'sso dark outside. The trees are blowing in the strong wind. It looks like night out. I had to turn the lights on, even with the porch sliding door and windows open to sunlight....and the windows cover a whole wall. As I digress....

Rainy Day Songs: B & the Beast, Rumours Album, SYW, Trouble in Shangri La

Sunny Day Songs: Stand Back, Edge, Enchanted, RAL album....

I tend to associate certain albums with seasons, weather, moods, etc., here are a few:

fall/chilly weather: Belladonna

sunny warm weather: Rumours, the Live F.M. album, The white F.M. album, TISL

rainy days: The Wild Heart

what do you play on rainy days versus gorgeous days?On rainy days, I often play jazz from the bop or post-bop periods; or Debussy stuff like the etudes, the preludes or nocturnes (like nuages or sirenes).

I love rainy, stormy days. It's the best mood enhancer. I've noticed that I tend to play the entire Bella Donna album when the weather gets that way. Especially How Still My Love, The Highwayman and Kind of Woman. Add to that Sable on Blonde, Doing The Best That I Can, and No Spoken Word is great too....."Baby you fill the night with the wind and the rain and the WATER!"

Probably my favorite album for stormy summertime weather is Siouxsie and the Banshees' 'Juju' or 'Tinderbox' albums, and 'Nocturne', since it's got that wicked Eve White/Eve Black on it. "LET ME OUT OF HERE!"
Nothing sounds better with Siouxsie's voice than thunder! :D

Cool thread Jazmen!

My picks would have to be:

Sunny days: Angel, Seven Wonders, Rooms On Fire, Maybe Love

Rainy days: Dreams, Storms, Listen To The Rain (obviously), Unconditional Love, Docklands

But I also have certain seasons when I listen to certain Stevie and FM albums:

Winter: White Album, Rock A Little
Spring: Rumours, Tango In The Night (listen to this non stop every year from the end of March all the way to June for some reason) , Other Side Of The Mirror, Behind The Mask, Street Angel
Summer: Trouble In Shangri-La, Other Side Of The Mirror, Tusk, Say You Will
Fall: Mirage, Bella Donna, Wild Heart

Ever since someone on here dubbed Street Angel "The Water Album," I usually listen to it if it is raining...really any songs from it except Just Like a Woman or Jane. I also like a lot of what's on the Enchanted third disc -- Long Distance Winner, Thousand Days, Reconsider Me.

The best, BEST sunny day song by Stevie is Say You Will. The beginning of the song makes me just picture driving down the road on a sunny day headed toward the beach (even though I'd never go to the beach, heh).

Hey Sorcerer386, would that "someone" be me? I'll admit I do tend to listen to the whole thing on rainy days. The songs just seem to fit that whole state of mind when it's raining. I'm gonna start calling it "The Water Album" now!

"Don't explain...Just lay back and watch the rain..."
