Thanks for posting that, Chris. :xoxo:
One of the people who left a comment, posted a Stevie quote I had never read before, so I went looking for the full article.
I thought these comments were interesting (they're from the May 8th, 2001 edition of the National Post):"Even in the worst of times, I kind of think I tried to take care of myself. I've never had a facelift," says Nicks in a recent interview during a press-tour stop in Toronto to promote her latest solo album, Trouble in Shangri-La.
Nicks, dressed in form-fitting shiny blue pants, a long black shirt and open-toed black sandals, her signature straight blond hair resting on her chest, says she would consider having cosmetic surgery around her neck, but not on her face.
"The idea of really changing my face, I don't want to do that," she says. "I don't want to look like another person. All of those other people who have plastic surgery don't look the way they look."

Puhleeeeeze. What you posted is obviously bad plastic surgery. And lots of it. Stevie's surgery is as obvious as the color of the sky is, but it's good plastic surgery. Just look at her ten years ago and then look at her today, girlfriend has had work done. But to admit that would somehow be an awful thing for some people. Not to me because I don't give a **** and she still looks like herself.

But to admit that would somehow be an awful thing for some people. Not to me because I don't give a **** and she still looks like herself.I posted two candid photos of Stevie, with her head in similar positions and with a similar smile on her face. One from approx. 1976 and one from earlier this year.
Where do you see "obvious" work? Compare the two pics... her lips look the same (with her upper lip being slightly thinner these days), her upper eyelids are obviously droopier now, her nose dips down now (as noses do when we age), she has more pudginess under her cheekbones, and so on.
If it were truly "obvious," as you say, then I wouldn't argue the point. I love and adore Bonnie Tyler, but it's very obvious that she's had facelifts and a nose job and collagen implants.
Looking great at nearly 60 doesn't make it "obvious" that you've had work done. (I do think she finally had her neck done though, as evidenced by the Vegas and Philly pics. But I'm talking about her face.)
By the way, I'd like to point out that you insist Bette Midler hasn't had work done, because, A. Bette "says so," and B. You've "seen her up close."
Well, many fans who have seen Stevie up close have stated that she has not had work done to her face, and Stevie herself says she's never had a facelift or any kind of plastic surgery involving her face.
So... why the refusal to take her word for it?

I have been the same room as Bette and I though it was obvious she had work done - but that was just my opinion. As for Stevie, I think she had maybe lippo and maybe her eyes done, all before The Dance. I will say though that she may do botox, callogen, etc., but as for invasive surgical procedures on her face, I just do not see it. Maybe she had some of the new age laser stuff or a mini lift. I used to think she had an eye lift, but now am not so sure. Of couse, it goes without saying that any pic. in almost any mag. has been touched uo to some degree, but the one Brian posted seems mostly candid.
And, I agree with Diss and others, if she did, more power to her because she looks GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!
On edit - maybe her neck was well.

Magazine photos are definitely airbrushed... which is why I posted a candid shot of her, uploaded to the AP Archives on the night of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. It's also where I got the pics of Meg Ryan and a couple of the Swit and Tylo pics.
Unless you're looking at a promotional 8x10, the pics in the AP Archives are un-retouched and uploaded directly following the events... and, therefore, give you a far more accurate idea of how someone really looks, than a magazine layout or an album cover.

Yeah, I remember seeing Bette one year, on TV, then saw her the next and she was waaaay younger.
I don't think Stevie had lipo, but i think she had some face stuff. I don't think anything invasive (maybe one lift?) either, though. Her nose does seem slimmer and less upturned, though - you know, less nostrilly? I, like you, don't give a rat's ass. Oh, and her upper mouth during Destiny Rules doc did seem especially, uh, immobile... :D

Facelifts do drop, love. Why do I refuse to take Stevie's word for it? I don't know, go look at pictures of her from over the years and then look at her now. Makeup is a great thing, but it isn't that great.
I still don't think Bette has had work done. From seeing her in person and looking at candids, the most I think she's had done is botox and non-surgical facelifts (which Stevie might also get, who knows). Bette's still got a chicken neck, liver spots, and lots of wrinkles, babe.

Well, not really. She admitted to having the boob job and then having them taken out. No one has ever asked her "Hey Stevie, have ya had any plastic surgery" - nor should they really. So, that DH chose to tell about hers does not make La Nicks any less of a person. I mean that is a private thing and La Nicks already revealed she had had work done  But say that Stevie in some way has denied having work done, which is what you said above, is incorrect
On edit - a few years ago La Nicks did say she would not have any more work done after the boob debacle - but she could have changed her mind - that's a woman's right they say

Touche - I had not read those. But, I still say her face has not been lifted. The sagging is too natural, unlike the staged sagging of a prior lift after a few years.
and to be fair, you did not specify a face lift in your statement, which was "At least Miss Debbie doesn't deny the fact that she's had work done. Same can't be said for Nicks." I do not know what DH has had done, though I do know she recently had a face lift

A better question would be why, after copping to a tit job, she won't just admit that she's had work done to her face instead of trying to pass it off as completely natural.

It's probably the sliding scale version of the truth. Botox, etc, does not equal face lift, in this version. Maybe.

Botox does not equal a facelift OR plastic surgery, but in Stevie's case, I think it's more than botox (if she even uses it). She most definitely had some work done to her eye area.

Yeah, i can't tell for sure, but I tend to think so, too. But I don't really have that "before eye lift, after eye lift" shot that would confirm it for me. So, if you have that, bust it out. :D

The best comparisons are those when she's in the same weight range.
And, again, I am not saying she's never had a chemical peel or a non-surgical facelift. But I take her word that she's never had plastic surgery done to her face, based on my OWN observations of her face over the years... no matter which side of the argument you choose to take.

Both of those things have no place in this discussion of surgery, I've had both of them. You can get a chemical peel on your lunchbreak and they have little offices where you can get non-surgical facelifts in 45 minutes flat. I'm talking about surgery, which I swear Stevie has had done to her eye area. I've never taken a real stance on the rest of her face and I do not think she's had a full-on facelift, but the eyes I'm positive.

This from the guy who thinks that all Nicole Kidman's had done to her face is botox? ;)
Watch Dead Calm and then pop in Dogivlle or The Stepford Wives. It's obvious that she hasn't had much of anything else. But it is obvious that she bleached her skin to get rid of the freckles.

I don't think Stevie's had a facelift. She's definitely had something done with her neck though and I reckon she's no stranger to a botox needle either...

Ho****, I haven't seen Madchen's! She's like, the last person who needs plastic surgery! I better go look. It's nice to know, however, that I, with my face, feel more comfortable with myself than waaaaaay beautiful people who are famous and stuff.

I was just watching Twin Peaks the other night and I honestly can't believe that it's the same person. So, so sad.
On another note, one who hasn't had plastic surgery and still looks pretty damn fine is Cybill Shepherd. They have new interviews with her on the Moonlighting DVDs and I was pretty happy she looked like herself. And you gotta love Patricia Arquette for looking so fabulous without any of that ****, either.

I can't get on the site. :( Yeah, Cyb looks pretty good. But I think plastic surgery would take to her pretty well, she already has a really wide mouth.
um...isn't Patricia arquette only, like, 36 or somthing? And, if you have cheekbones like that, they can hold up your face forever. I envision an eye lift for her in the next 10 yrs, though.

I just had to pop out her autobiography last night while I was watching Moonlighting at, like, midnight. She has a bigger set of balls than any man. You must read it, it's the juiciest one you'll ever read. And she was absolutely jaw-dropping back in the day.

Ah, I don't like her look, the wide, thin, crocodile mouth. But yeah, she was pretty, I guess. Not my type. She does have huge balls, though, you can tell just when she's interviewed. She seems slightly crazy, and very self absorbed, just like a good Diva. I love it. she's very funny. You know what I like better than moonlighting? That other show she did, with Christine Baranski, and the young genius girl with red hair. :) I know, I know, I have to read her autobio. Damn! I loved Cybill, but NOTHING topped Moonlighting for me. That show was so creative and funny, I'm having more fun watching it today than when I did then. She dishes about the bitch that is Christine Baranski and the brat that is Alicia Witt in her book (the passage about Alicia Witt demanding time off to get a nose job is priceless). Anyway, the book is so raunchy and bitchy, you'll love it. Especially the chapter "The Cybill Sandwich."

Although, I submit, that although Baranski is probably a b***, Cybill has been known to be quite the terror, as well. A better question would be why, after copping to a tit job, she won't just admit that she's had work done to her face instead of trying to pass it off as completely natural.
Oh my god, Diss, this totally reminds me of the uncut 60 Minutes interview with Loretta Lynn. Have you seen it? That swag Mike Wallace asked Loretta if she's ever had a face lift/plastic surgery, and of course she has...IT'S TOTALLY OBVIOUS!! But Loretta leaned over the table right in his face, and rather definantly I might add, and said, "No, I haven't." Why in the world would this "seasoned news anchor" ask this 70 something year old woman if she's had a face lift when it's totally obvious that she has?!?!? I'm telling you, it hacked me off! What was the point of that ridiculous question!? It only made him look like a hack imo.
