View Full Version : The most ridiculous song you liked as a child that no one else has heard

I couldn't think of how to make the thread title shorter and still say all of that.

Okay, if you can, grab the most silly song you loved when you were younger that presumably no one else here has ever heard, then use www.yousendit.com to upload it and post it in this thread.

I won't say who the singer of mine is 'cause y'all will figure it out soon enough. It's called "A Quatre Pas D'ici" (in this context, it means "Four Steps Away From Here," basically) and I believe she was 13 or 14 when this was recorded. I used to dance around to it in my room like there was no tomorrow. I put it in my CD player this morning and I was like, What was I thinking?

Here it is-

I don't know how I'd ever find this one now to upload it here (I have the album at my parents house) but I still sing it to myself every now and then .... "Disco Mickey Mouse" It's the title song to a Mickey Mouse disco album. Did anyone have this album and/or remember this song? Or have I just completely embarrassed myself?

This song was mid-sixties I think. I was a WeeLad. :D *shivers* I don't like those Boobah things. They are almost as evil as the kids on that purple dinosaur show I won't even mention.

I was a kid raised on MTV and top 40 radio, so I didn't know too many obscure songs.

The weirdest one that I loved (and still love) was "Fish Heads" by Barnes and Barnes.

Fish heads fish heads
Roly poly fish heads
Fish heads fish heads
Eat them up
Yum

In the morning laughing happy fish heads
In the evening floating in the soup

Ask a fish head anything you want to
They won't answer they can't talk

I took a fish head out to see a movie
Didn't have to pay to get it in

They can't play baseball they don't wear sweaters
They're not good dancers they don't play drums

Roly poly fish heads are never seen
Drinking cappuccino in Italian restaurants
with Oriental women

Yeah.

Yes, those Boobah things are definitely evil.

Yeah... I downloaded a really short radio interview with him from a couple of years ago (it wasn't much of an interview, it was mainly just the DJs f*cking with him) and he said that the Wiggles are one of his favorites.

I tooooootally know that one. :woohoo: i mean, I didn't listen to it, I remember it!
I can't really think of any that no one else would know. My mom used to sing this folkish one, with her guitar, about um...something like...
"there were three gypsies a come to my door...
somethingsomethingsomethingsomething
One sang high and the other sang low and the third sang bonnie bonnie biscayo"
anyway, it was really pretty and I loved it, but obviously cannot send it.
And, does anyone else know Winkin and Blinkin and Nodd? It's a lullaby, very pretty.

The Gimmie Pig.....
I cant find any site that has the words but the chorus went something like this:
Gimmie this
Gimmie that
Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie,
I want a boiling rat (not sure about this line!)
I got to have everything little and big
thats the song of the Gimmie Pig
the endless song of the Gimmie Pig....

another one I liked was the Lollipop tree (which everyone knows Im sure)

and two others by Peter Paul and Mary

Shaddup you face/Joe Dolce

Shaddap You Face

(verse:)
When I was a boy, just about-a eighth-a grade,
mama used to say, don't-a stay out late,
with the bad-a boys, always shoot-a pool,
gonna flunk-a school.

Boy, it make-a me sick, all the things I gotta do.
can't-a getta no kicks, always gotta follow rules,
boy, it make-a me sick, just-a make a lousy bucks,
I gotta feel like a fool. (and mama used to say:)

(chorus:)
What'sa matta you, hey,
Gotta no respect, whatta you think you do,
Why you looka so sad?
It's-a not so bad, it's-a nice-a place,
Ah, Shaddap You Face.

(verse:)
Soon-a come-a day, gonna be-a big-a star,
Gonna make a movies, buy a nice-a car,
but still-a be myself, I'm-a never change a thing,
always dance and sing. ('cause I remember mama used to say:)

(chorus:)
What'sa matta you, hey,
Gotta no respect, whatta you think you do,
Why you looka so sad?
It's-a not so bad, it's-a nice-a place,
Ah, Shaddap You Face.

(talking section)
"Hello, everybody, that's out there in radio and television land.
Did you know I had a bit hit song in Italy with this: 'Shaddap You Face'?
I sing this song and all my fans applaud, they clap their hands, that make me feel so good.
You ought to learn this song, It's really simple -
I sing: 'Whatsa Matta You?" You sing: 'Hey!"
, you sing the rest and at the end, we can all sing 'Ah, shaddap You Face!'
Ok Let's try it, really big -
Uno, Duo, Tre, Quatro:"

(chorus:)
What'sa matta you, hey,
Gotta no respect, whatta you think you do,
Why you looka so sad?
It's-a not so bad, it's-a nice-a place,
Ah, Shaddap You Face.

Call me crazy, but I think it's still a good pop song. Of course, that Paul McCartney was in the video didn't hurt, either. But, in the end Tracey Ullman will always have a soft spot in my heart if for no other reason than it was her show that gave us the Simpsons.

Oh, I still love it and still listen to it. Almost all of her songs were great (Breakaway, I'm Always Touched By Your Presence, Dear, Bobby's Girl, etc). I adore Tracey Ullman, she's a genius. I've always been a huge fan and am dying for them to release The Tracey Ullman Show and Tracey Takes On on DVD. Loved it. Woot. I thought Whoopi's was a little better, but I dug the Tracey.

I love the Whoopster just for Fontaine alone, but Tracey has so much manic energy that she gets me all worked up. I hear she's taking her show to Broadway and if she does, I'll surely go see it. I actually watched the atrocity that is Leno because he had a double bill of Tracey Ullman and Hayden Christensen a couple of weeks back and she just kills me every time I see her. They should resurrect Tracey Takes On, dammit. Saw Whoopi last September and she's stupendous.
